uggggggggh seafood - need a yuk emoticon.

DebiTheScot · 23/11/2011 23:13

quick check in as been mega busy.

Thanks DrNo for checking. Really appreciate that. Must be another reason then that the hotels all cost more for the wknd of the 8th ish june then.
Hope the garmin is ok!

monkey I was telling dh about your dh's bits and he says he'll shred with me tomorrow night in loose boxers!

This thread is becoming a shred thread with a wee bit running thrown in occasionally! (I mean the occasionally is on the thread, you might be running all the time although I'm not sure with the amount of time some of us spend on here!) Love fanny's shred report.

The moshi on a moped line made me nearly wet myself too!

Are any of you in your 20s? If not I might be the youngest here. I'm only just not in my 20s.

rhet I bet your sick notes are better forged that some of the notes I got from kids to get out of doing PE. I had one who ran up the stairs to give me the note saying she couldn't do PE as her ankle was sore. There was a long word (can't remember what) that she thought would make it sound more plausible that she'd attempted to spell 3 times before replacing it with an easy word.

monkeyLFDTwench · 23/11/2011 23:18

Is penes a real word?!

Ds1 came home from school a few years back and said he knew the proper name for his willy - his peanuts. Which ds2 found hilarious, and kept shouting "ow ow, I've been kicked in the peanuts" at the most embarrassing times and places.

fannybanjo · 23/11/2011 23:24

hmm I'm sure penes is the plural of penis but don't want to google on iPad as DH will get very suspicious!

I could live off seafood. Love it, octopus, tiger prawns, oysters - just given 'em all to me.

OP posts:
fannybanjo · 23/11/2011 23:28

Oh cherry you've been wedding dress shopping?! Let's start a special thread just for that please!

OP posts:
peachLFDTsmuggler · 23/11/2011 23:32

Kicked in the peanuts Grin.

Well hello there Mrsweds, lovely to see you! Might have to see if I can get a photo of the milk drunk face to post. All ony phone for now as (disaster) we can't ding the USB connector to download camera pics to pooter and now the flipping memory card is full!!! Goingvto get new card tomorrow at shops and order replacement cable off interweb. A day without a camera with a new baby is unthinkable!!

Got into bed while leaving Kate downstairs with DP to see if I could get a bit of kip. 30 mins, hurrah! Hope she sleeps a bit tonight as I didn't manage a nap today and got things to do tomorrow! Well, midwife in morning then got first trip out (exciting) in afternoon for hearing test. MIL taking DD to playgroup in morning. Think she is dying to get back there after being cooped up in house.

Cannot believe in a matter of weeks will (fingers crossed) be out there running with you guys (you still all run don't you?!? Wink)

in other good news, DP went and picked up a prescription for me for haemaroid cream, to mend my poor broken arse...

monkeyLFDTwench · 23/11/2011 23:39
bonkersLFDT20 · 24/11/2011 07:01

How much sleep did you get Peach. I bet baby Kate will be sleeping better than my 2 YO very soon. He's a wee devil.

It took me 2 YEARS to get back into running with DS2. How do you do it?!

How's BF going? I was training to be a BF counsellor but got thrown off the course didn't have the time to complete it.

Hope the broken arse cream does what it's meant to. Do you think anyone believed your DP when he said "it's for someone else"?

peachLFDTsmuggler · 24/11/2011 07:22

Thanks bonkers, well it seemed like a better night's sleep to me. I got 30 mins at 11, then another 30 at 12, then I think an hour at 3.30, then another 90mins at 5. She is feeding sleeing on the job now and usually am able to get her back to bed in basket ok, as it is morning now so she thinks, "ahh I can sleep"

Bf seems to be going well. Just need her to feed for a bit longer before falling asleep I think, but I have very little pain now as her latch is pretty good and she is having plenty of wet nappies. Midwife coming to do heel prick test today so not sure if they weigh her today, or wait till she is a week old.

As to running, well the plan is to start after Xmas if I feel ok, but we'll see. After DD1 I started back when she was about 3 months, though I wasn't all that into running before. It will depend on how she is feeding wise and sleepwise as to if I can manage to get away!

peachLFDTsmuggler · 24/11/2011 07:30

Broken arse cream giving blessed relief, tbh they were getting better day by day, but a little help is good as they are large and numerous!!! Quite reassuring to realise that Elle Mcphearson, Gwyneth Paltrow et al must also suffer the same indignities, or perhaps they have someone to deal with that sort of thing for them. An arse PA if you will...

Not long now Rhet, hope DP is not too much at the end of her tether. Perhaps you could bake your chocolate salted cake to lure DD2 out with?!?

peachLFDTsmuggler · 24/11/2011 07:34

How's the garmin today DrNo. I hope you have thought of a suitable punishment for DH!!!

monkeyLFDTwench · 24/11/2011 08:34

I would imagine the celebs delegate the farmers to someone else, as you say. Not something people tend to shout about is it, can't see Gwyneth on the cover of Hello discussing "My Haemmorhoid Hell". Hope they get better soon, I'm sure they will!

fannybanjo · 24/11/2011 09:53

peach glad you'll feel like you've had a "better" sleep. It's amazing, on that little sleep now, I'd be floored but somehow, after having a baby, your hormones carry you. Amazing really. You planning on BF for long?

Haemorrhoids... Never had them thank fuck. You're in my thoughts peach Wink as they most be horrific.

The After-Shred... Painful! My glutes are throbbing. Looking forward to doing it tonight.

OP posts:
rhetorician · 24/11/2011 10:11

DP is somewhat at the end of her tether - but still only 38 + 5, so it could, realistically, be at least another week

glad you are getting at least some sleep, peach - how is DD1 reacting? I must say that I am much less stressed about the idea of a tiny baby this time, but I am a bit worried about DD1, although she seems quite accepting of the idea at the moment.

Cold seems better today, so will bang out 5 miles on treadmill later on, and then do a longer run tomorrow morning when DD is at nursery.

Have new coffee machine - good, but made of plastic, unlike the old one. DD having a great time making houses and picnic tables out of the packaging. Best go and let DP put her feet up

fannybanjo · 24/11/2011 10:17

rhet she could have another 3 weeks to go Shock if she goes overdue. Poor thing, let's hope those contractions were everything getting going. Will she have a sweep on due date? Was DD born late? Hope you get on the treadmill - hey bang out some speed intervals?

debi I used to forge my mum's signature better than she could do it herself. That story re letter to get off PE made me laugh. You can't knock a trier can you!?

DrNo come on, dying to know how Garmin is Sad

OP posts:
rhetorician · 24/11/2011 10:43

fanny will have sweep next Friday (never had one with DD); she was 5 days over with DD (well, 3 by our calculations)...she will go ballistic if she has to wait that long I'd say..

debi loved your PE excuse letter (a bit like my PhD student whose bad back prevented her from doing any work, she told me this in all seriousness after dancing for about 3 hours at a friend's party!) - I've had a fair few forgeries in my time, too.

yes, is the Garmin revived, or sick? I think we should be told

bonkersLFDT20 · 24/11/2011 13:16

How often does this happen?

First shop you go to, see trainers you want, ask for your size, they come out with your size but last season's model/colour, you try them on, they fit, you try them on the running machine, they are lush, you buy them.

Hoorah! £48 for my new Adidas Supernova 3's - for people with narrow feet and perfect neutral running gait. The only down side is the stripes and whatnot are pink.

The running God is being favourable today. Let's hope it was kind to DrNo's Garmin.

Meant I spent more money on Xmas pressies. Yay. I want to get DS2 a mini scooter Anyone know where you can get them for less than £60. They are THE one to have apparently.

DS2 has asked for a CD which doesn't even exist!

sfxmum · 24/11/2011 13:46

wave to MrsW

peach a bit of sleep and arse healing meds, improvement Wink

rhet hope PD is not feeling too worn out, almost impossible at this stage, pamper and rest

drN oh no Garmin tragedy, is he suitably chastised?

cherry a spring wedding how lovely, I got married coming up to 10 yrs ago, small thing, definitely no white for me deep dark red it was

went to gym, woman's session is 2for1 so did a couple of classes back to back, I missed the trainer, great at making us sweat it out

sfxmum · 24/11/2011 13:48

bonkers those scooters are ace dd has the model up in age, not sure where you would buy them cheaper apart from 2nd hand

peachLFDTsmuggler · 24/11/2011 14:53

sending lots of early labour vibes to Rhet's DP. DD1 has been great, a little star in fact. Not sure how it will be next week when MIL isn't here but hopefully ok. Am trying to make time to spend with her alone each day but obviously time is in short supply! She had a great time today at playgroup making pumpkin soup, bless her.

bonkers, clearly the planets were alligned for you. Reeeeesult!!! I think amazon is often the cheapest place for scooters.

On way home from our first trip out with Kate for hearing test. All fine, and she dlrp whole way there and back with wake at health centre for change and feed. Hurrah!

fannybanjo · 24/11/2011 15:01

bonkers I've just tried Adidas Supernova 3's on but I didn't have time to test them properly. I'm currently on last legs of Brooks Defyance 3's (only had them since August!) but before those I had Adidas Marathon's and they were fab, Adidas great for slim feet/neutral gait. They also wore better than the Brooks but maybe cause I've upped mileage and pace, the Brooks have took a battering. I'm desperate for new ones.

rhet I'm sure she'll go soon.

peach bless - your first day out! Glad Kate was good.

OP posts:
WishIwasCherryMenlove · 24/11/2011 15:05

Hi Bonkers, if it is the mini micro scooter you are after (i.e. smallest size), that is what I am also getting for DS. they are £49 on the micro scooter website but there is £5 delivery charge. Or £54 on John Lewis website, but I think that's free delivery. Probably getting ours from JL, at least they are generally reliable.

Made an appt to go back to Candy Anthony tomorrow to sign on the dotted line for my wedding dress

rhetorician · 24/11/2011 15:24

great shoe result bonkers (unlike my recent cost cutting exercise with Asics cumulus - they had to go back because I needed a bigger size, but they still just aren't comfy - false economy, so I will be reuturning to the more expensive nimbus in future)

did just over 5 miles on treadmill, 53:40 ave HR of 140 - chuffed with that - was running about a minute per mile slower at same heart rate 3 weeks ago (nearly typed 3 wees ago - now that would be rapid progress :))

RunningAllDay · 24/11/2011 16:06

OOh, enjoy your wedding dress purchase, Cherry - how exciting. Like sfxmum I also wore red - no point my pretending to be virginal after living with DH for 5 years first!

And great buy bonkers - I have wide, large flat feet that overpronote (attractive huh) which are difficult to shoe. Only Asics seem wide enough but I can't find comfy trail shoes for love nor money.

Have belatedly looked at the race I am doing at the weekend, and saw the words 'mud' and 'water features'. Heart sank. Its November ffs!

Am still awaiting my Compleat Idiot rhet - can't wait to get stuck in. I think its the way forward for me too, otherwise I expire on the hills. Today managed 6.2 M at av 8.48 min/M, including 850ft climb/drop and w/up, c/d. Was happy with that for a tempo run, especially as I was dragging a less fit though very determined friend.

Hope everyone else got good runs today - anyone got strong winds oop north?
