Went to town today.

Shops either closed, closing down or empty.

Quite depressing, really.

Lakeland has closed, wilkos, a couple of Independant shops, 2 cafes...

What will be the impact on trade with the EU now the UK is using chemicals banned in the EU? Will UK famers be completely shut out now?

Maybe those who are happy about it have access to their own water source/well?

Or maybe they are just think that it won't affect them?

I am reminded of the horrendous issues in Flint in the USA whose water source was poisoned...do people really think "that couldn't happen here"??

I would have thought that events post 2016 would show even the hardest of thinking that it could....and so probably will...

I sense what will happen is that we will have to abide by EU rules if we want to eat trade and export but it'll be a long and unnecessarily expensive process

On the old Westministenders threads, I recall a TruBeLeaver saying something like "Even if my children have to eat grass, it's still a price worth paying for Brexit" so I guess if you replace 'grass' with 'carcinogens' that sounds about right 🤷🏻‍♀️

But you know, it's not an apocalyptic death cult, definitely not.

Not quite sure the Telegraph trying to insinuate that Labour will move the UK closer to the EU is quite the strategy they think it is. Certainly it would firm up some peoples drift towards Labour without a corresponding drift to the Tories who really have nailed themselves to Brexit.

And all Labour need do is remind us this is very much a Tory Brexit. Maybe the UK should try a Labour Brexit. (Especially if it turns out to be no Brexit at all ... )
