Yay look at us with our sovereignty! We can poison our citizens with impunity!

Not to mention our rivers and seas!

What a win! It was obviously worth your vote just for that!

Idiot

Has anyone ever accused you of being a deeply unpleasant individual ?

DuncinToffee · 13/09/2023 13:27

Harmful pesticides, what a prize to win.

I thought you were into beekeeping @LouiseCollins28 or was that another brexiteer?

Well this particular poster has had a bee in their bonnet about anything European (and possibly foreign) since these threads started ?

They have now! 😊I think I might have a badge made to celebrate this honour 🤗or maybe a t-shirt.

BTW the other person who was asking me about bee keeping, no I think that must have been another poster, thanks.

If being happy for people to be poisoned is winning I'm happy to lose.

Also ditto. The blockheaded stupidity of someone thinking it's a good thing to pump more poison into the environment is mind-blowing.

Jackydaytona · 13/09/2023 15:38

You're not an unpleasant individual, @serendipity

I've noticed that sometimes, people who use actual facts get accused of being "unpleasant"

Do share with us who exactly you feel I've insulted? (by celebrating their attitude towards me and thanking them for it) 😊

Went to town today.

Shops either closed, closing down or empty.

Quite depressing, really.

Lakeland has closed, wilkos, a couple of Independant shops, 2 cafes...

Fladdermus · 13/09/2023 15:48

What will be the impact on trade with the EU now the UK is using chemicals banned in the EU? Will UK famers be completely shut out now?

Maybe those who are happy about it have access to their own water source/well?

Or maybe they are just think that it won't affect them?

I am reminded of the horrendous issues in Flint in the USA whose water source was poisoned...do people really think "that couldn't happen here"??

I would have thought that events post 2016 would show even the hardest of thinking that it could....and so probably will...

I think it's partially their attitude of exceptional ism...the old "don't yew know who we arrreeee???" 🤔🙄

I imagine so
I sense what will happen is that we will have to abide by EU rules if we want to eat trade and export but it'll be a long and unnecessarily expensive process
It's already begun with rejoining horizon
🤷

But if you were the EU (and just for the sake of sensitive souls, I am not accusing you of being the EU, or indeed a member state) then would you trust Britannia Unchained to stick to the standards ?

Because I wouldn't.

So that's a large chunk of UK agriculture that has just had the bus it was thrown under reverse over it again for good measure.

The UK is a global joke

However, if you are the EU (and as you say, mot accusing anyone of being the EU!) Brexshit has greatly increased support for the EU in member countries

Win win 🏆

On the old Westministenders threads, I recall a TruBeLeaver saying something like "Even if my children have to eat grass, it's still a price worth paying for Brexit" so I guess if you replace 'grass' with 'carcinogens' that sounds about right 🤷🏻‍♀️

But you know, it's not an apocalyptic death cult, definitely not.

Not quite sure the Telegraph trying to insinuate that Labour will move the UK closer to the EU is quite the strategy they think it is. Certainly it would firm up some peoples drift towards Labour without a corresponding drift to the Tories who really have nailed themselves to Brexit.

And all Labour need do is remind us this is very much a Tory Brexit. Maybe the UK should try a Labour Brexit. (Especially if it turns out to be no Brexit at all ... )
