Inflation now at 6.2% (highest in 30 years)
Cost £42 to 2/3rds fill my petrol tank yesterday
This weeks grocery delivery is £130 (normal everyday items, nothing luxurious)
From April this household will be paying £1200 more a year NI, God knows how much more in energy costs (talk of a 35% increase again in October..), food prices are insane, and I'm starting to walk more so I'm not using the car...
Over a quarter of three households in my county will be in fuel poverty - I can't imagine how much worse it will be in the so called red wall seats/NE/NW.
Even Osborne initiated a windfall tax on oil suppliers...why isn't this govt doing that?

As a historian I'm very concerned about where this is heading. I forsee a dumping of the FT parliament act, more trashing of the economy to line tory pockets (10% Inflation and IR..) by end of year so De Pfeffle will call a GE and fuck off humming like spam face Cameron.
THEN all hell will break loose.
No opposition to speak of so a mishmash coalition will have to be formed with no other goal than to wrest power from its other members.
We are witnessing the start of the permanent decline of this once great nation. The Argentina of the 21st century.
