@borntobequiet

Genderism is a hugely important component of the culture wars and Russia has been stirring that pot very effectively. It’s dispiriting to hear Labour spouting anti-women, anti-science, anti- common sense nonsense. If they can be ideologically captured so easily by this, what next? I wouldn’t vote Conservative - ever - but I can’t vote Labour either.
Exactly. Here on this series of threads we rightly decry those who have been ideologically captured by Brexit, we dissect the lies they tell to themselves, the empty slogans, the appeals to emotions, the callous disregard for those adversely affected, the demands for silencing of dissent. Why would we embrace any other faith-based ideological capture?

@ChiswickFlo

They can't attack brexit because they voted for it
Yes, they shot themselves in the foot with that one. Starmer should’ve let it be an open vote so not to have tied the party to it.

Now he can’t openly complain about it, but neither did he have to try to drum up patently false enthusiasm for the non existent ‘opportunities’. He could’ve made grown up noises about working with our trade partners and had trade exports looking at what can be done to help British businesses recover from the trade barriers.

Not quite sure all the people who claim to support the tories because "they know what a woman is" have been paying much attention to the Tory trick of saying one thing but actually doing exactly the opposite.

ChiswickFlo · 26/03/2022 09:52

@DrBlackbird
True

SunakOut has joined JohnsonOut on twitter

Peregrina · 26/03/2022 13:28

I see that other thread about Johnson knowing what a woman is has disappeared. Yes, well, we know he does, he's shagged plenty of them. But knowing what a woman is doesn't prevent the Tory party from being a bunch of misogynists.

It would be better to stick to the other parties, but start calling out this transwomen are women nonsense.

pointythings · 26/03/2022 13:29

@DGRossetti

.
But you could still argue that's because of the pandemic, since Boris & Co handled it so dreadfully well. Mustn't mention the B word, do keep up!

Shame no one ever taught him how to use a condom 🤷‍♀️

And, in case you can't understand it and let's face it, pretty much all Brexshitteers seem to be thick as pigshit, the FT spells it out with some clarity...

The party for women, Tories are not. I can't read the article but this twitter thread on Elphicke is quite something

twitter.com/Gabriel_Pogrund/status/1507787552668983309?t=TTMWODKa7PwsxqvPHIrUQQ&s=19
Charlie Elphicke spent four years suing The Sunday Times for revealing a woman accused him of rape

He used British libel law to silence her and prolong her pain after being jailed for sex crimes

Last week he dropped the case. Today we tell the full story t.co/2SOERvSKAc

BlackeyedSusan · 27/03/2022 03:00

I'm hoping for an independent candidate.

quiteathome · 27/03/2022 09:23

Tories will say whatever they like to get votes. And then change their minds later.

It will be a wait and see here for candidates. Lib Dems are usually the most likely to be the tactical vote. Although I still have not forgiven them.

At the moment though I have no idea who their leader is.

ChiswickFlo · 27/03/2022 09:34

No elections here so not something I have to think about for a while
At the last local council elections in 2018 I held my nose and voted green to keep the tory out
No idea what I'd do now...independent I guess 🤷‍♀️

pointythings · 27/03/2022 09:38

No elections here either. I voted for the independent last time - he was wrong on Brexit but actually serious about addressing real local issues. He fell short by very few votes and the Tory got in (again), but the margin was so tight that the Tory's feet are being held to the fire all the time. Next time might be the time!

ChiswickFlo · 27/03/2022 09:51

Well I couldn't vote for the greens now obviously...but 4 years ago I hadn't heard of the challinors

DGRossetti · 27/03/2022 11:13

Got our polling cards yesterday.

Have to see what happens.

ChiswickFlo · 27/03/2022 12:01
🤣🤣🤣
DuncinToffee · 28/03/2022 17:10

John Grace @JohnJGrace
Rishi Sunak has just told Treasury select committee that change in trading relationship was always going to have negative impact. Not sure that was part of the Brexit sales pitch

HannibalHeyes · 28/03/2022 17:28

So they supported it knowing that it would damage the country.

And people still vote for them...
