Hi,

Longtime lurker and poster (under various nn) on Westminstenders and these threads.

I'm afraid the other thread op pissed me off a lot so here's another option for those of us that want one.

Wishing you all a Happy Christmas and good luck for 2022.

@DuncinToffee

Mogg again

Kevin Brennan - Following his disparaging remarks about leader of the Scottish Conservatives... does he think the leader of the Welsh Conservatives is a lightweight figure, & can he name him?

Jacob Rees-Mogg - Simon Hart 🤣

The leader of the Welsh Tories is Andrew RT Davies. t.co/GmgC4xvkxm

(Haggis_Uk)

Mogg is campaigning for Welsh independence as well as Scottish, now that is a surprise.
DGRossetti · 13/01/2022 12:27

Top comment. Mainly because it's true. JRM has single handedly made every Scots and Welsh Tory a laughing stock and confirmed exactly what nationalists have claimed for years. Hard to see how even the most committed Tory in these countries can credibly campaign now.

@AndrewRTDavies will be furious to know that despite debasing himself for his English colleagues and fawning over everything the do they don’t even know he exists. Brings a tear to my eye.

Gove at it, too.
Given he's the only one of BJ's clique with any idea about what Scotland is like (as evidenced by his reference to Elgin) or how its politics function, it's pretty symbolic:

Asked about [Ross's] remarks ahead of a meeting of the influential Conservative 1922 committee of backbench Tory MPs, Mr Gove said: "My instant response is he's in Elgin and the national Tory leader is in London"

Well Scotland is another country and the sooner the Scots realise that and know their place and stop bothering the English the better.

I thought that businesses in NI were doing quite well out of still being in the EU?

DGRossetti · 13/01/2022 15:37

I thought that businesses in NI were doing quite well out of still being in the EU?

They weren't supposed to though. That's Truss's mission. To persuade them that in reality they are missing out on the sunlit uplands England, Wales and Scotland are enjoying while they languish in decline.

Obviously the reality is no one gives two fucks what anyone in Northern Ireland thinks (when is there a JRM lashing coming their way ?) and this narrative is just for the rUK to lap up.

Aren't there elections due in NI soon ?

DuncinToffee · 13/01/2022 18:59

According to Sky News, Priti Patel distances herself from Rishi Sunak as she gives full support to PM over party row

@DGRossetti

I believe the word of the day may be "internecine" ?

That's what the delightful Christopher Chope was trying to insinuate yesterday: that this was somehow a Remainer plot HmmConfused

Interesting day to announce that
The Duke of York (Aka "shroedingers nonce") is being sacked?
Sadly, HMQ should have done this long ago.

Re: Rishi...not sure he's playing a clever game here. He seems to be only UK minister to have not 100% backed de pfeffle. Will the party membership see this as too traitorous?

No reply from my MP yet...

The Andrew formerly known as Prince...

DuncinToffee · 13/01/2022 21:55

Andrew, Chinese spy and now the Telegraph, not a typo, reporting 2 more No 10 parties

DuncinToffee · 13/01/2022 22:12

I understand that the chairman and officers of Sutton Coldfield Conservative association tonight unanimously (10-0) passed a motion calling for Boris Johnson to stand down. This is a large association in a safe Tory seat - and they backed Boris in the leadership contest

tava63 · 13/01/2022 22:53

Goodbye Boris! I think I can finally believe he will soon be removed from office. Final blow delivered ironically by The Telegraph just now: twitter.com/TelePolitics/status/1481751492671459335 . They were his Kingmaker so they of course get to be the King Destroyer.

DrBlackbird · 13/01/2022 23:04

Dom plays the long game doesn’t he… I’m assuming it’s him behind the leaks?

tava63 · 13/01/2022 23:13

@DrBlackbird no need to assume he served up the dates in his twitter feed and blog a week ago.

Opal8 · 13/01/2022 23:19

Oh yes, it's Dom alright

It's all very well wanting rid of de pfeffle but who on earth would replace him?

I thought Spamface Cameron was bad.

Then May arrived

Then bloody De Pfeffle

Who's next??

Truss?
Gove?
Brady?

Christ....

New PM by Monday?

Elections in NI in May

Going to be very interesting, lots of predictions that DUP will lose badly as people voted to remain, see benefit of protocol, are suffering the effects of incompetence in Government ( worst wait times on hospital appointments anywhere) and are generally fed up with the only thing they care about being ‘flegs’!
