Hi,

Longtime lurker and poster (under various nn) on Westminstenders and these threads.

I'm afraid the other thread op pissed me off a lot so here's another option for those of us that want one.

Wishing you all a Happy Christmas and good luck for 2022.

[quote BringBackCoffeeCreams]UK disabled badges no longer being recognised in EU countries.
Brexit really is the gift that just keeps on giving.

and we won't recognise theirs. SO THERE !

So much for blue passports

The countries are believed to be resistant to recognising British badges because it is difficult for local officials and parking wardens to verify the authenticity of non-EU badges, a problem EU badges do not have because they are of a common design and part of the same scheme.

This has always been a problem. I got 3 parking tickets in the first few months of moving to Sweden as they didn't think my UK issued badge was real. To be fair, compared to the Swedish ones it did look like a Blue Peter home job.

UK Steel Industry braces for slump in trade as US reduces tariffs on EU.

Tariffs remain on UK exports to US as European Union rivals gain a 25% price advantage from New Year’s Day.

Brexshit and the "special relationship" both going swimmingly then...

The Brexshitters favourite Donald Tusk, laying it, very clearly, as the rest of the world sees it; Brexshit is the last dying twitches of the British Empire...

Peregrina · 29/12/2021 22:31

Yes he is right.

HannibalHeyes · 29/12/2021 23:49

Woow! More Brexshit wins!

Proof surely that Brexit is not a success - otherwise, why not it mention it?

I'm so puzzled, shouldn't Brave Brexitannian BeLeaving Patriots be shouting about the obvious triumphs of their vote?

They are. This thread is full of all the wonderful bonus' of Brexit. We don't even have to hear about sovereignty and taking back control of our borders any more because there are so many other Brexit dividends.

Yes he is right.
Agreed.

Not quite Brexit don’t mention the war but given that the original nightingale hospitals were never used due to lack of nursing staff, the only possible reason for building more ‘mini’ nightingale’s has to be that some construction mates of Johnson or really could be a mate of anyone in the cabinet needed more taxpayers money. So they obliged him with a govt contract make work project. AFAIK more nurses haven’t magically appeared in the last two years as some unknown Brexit bonus?

Jason118 · 30/12/2021 10:43

It's a simple solution for increased nursing staff, I don't know why it hasn't been thought of before. Any nurses working the night shift have nothing to do during the day, so they could work the nightingales then. And vice versa for the day shift. Problem solved.

To be fair to the BBC News website, today it has a story on a consequence, sorry, one of the glories of Brexit.

Brexit: How has pet travel to the EU been affected?

The negative effect of Brexit on London's financial services sector Angry - and the full effect is only not being felt yet because of Covid delaying people moving

This is indeed big news and what would Screaming Lord Such say?
One of his parties key policies was that pets need holidays too.

Menomadness · 31/12/2021 20:23

I just popped my head around the door to say Happy New Year to you all.
A thank you to posters past and present for continuing to highlight what an absolute con the B word is.
I don't post often as I can't articulate the shit show as eloquently as you all do but I do regularly read.

Opal8 · 31/12/2021 20:28

Happy new year to you all ❤️

I don't feel particularly hopeful, but without hope what do we have?

Perhaps the opening of the brexshit Pandoras box will leave some hope behind 🙏
