He is doing poorly in the polls, the coronavirus crisis is not going well, the economy isn;t doing so great.

He needs a distraction and to fuel racial unrest for his election campaign.

I fear that things in the US are going to get a lot worse before they get better.

On the other hand
outdoors in the sunshine getting exercise
and
having been out and about right through lockdown .... most people will be doing the covid waltz
The telephoto lens pictures used by the newspapers will not show it
but most people are staying safe distances apart

Wasn’t noticeably busier here but I’m in a city not a beauty spot and I only went out on a 30 min walk at abt 4pm

I have to admit though that being on the flight path into the hospital
over ten helicopters came in today
four or five is normal for a weekend

First thought is that govt have released some restrictions a bit too early. We’ll know in a week or two.

We relaxed restrictions 4 weeks ago and people are still social distancing, talking to each other at a good 2-3 m distance

it just seems habit now for most people
Exception being some teens / young adults, but they are at almost no risk

There was a quite well-distanced party by the Rhine
it was good to see youngsters singing and dancing again in the sun
I heard "Ode to Joy" followed by loud cheers
