This week has seen reports of the government editing footage of Johnson to avoid embarrassing questions about the early government response.

We've been asked to accept that the rules were different to what we were told to excuse the law breaking behaviour of a senior government advisor. As Johnson said he was being a responsible father (as if Johnson knows what this is) and it wasn't as if he was visiting a lover (this Johnson would know all about). Let's be honest Johnson is the master of brazening out controversy.

We also have the ERG complaining they were lied to by Gove about the new Withdrawal Agreement and the border in the Irish Sea which surprises precisely no one else.

They appear to be a little upset by the Cummings debarkable too.

Call me parochial, but I don't really give a shiny shit about the US system. If it's fucked it's fucked, and there's nothing I can do about it. DB can if he likes, now he's a citizen.

I'm more concerned about closer to home. We've already had a solution to a non-problem work to deter in-person voting.

Singasonga · 27/05/2020 13:54

Oh God, that's hilarious. "Cummings," eh?

DGRossetti · 27/05/2020 14:18

Lockdown the voter then get in your motor

KonTikki · 27/05/2020 14:54

Is that a Banksy.

Banksy tends more towards the black and white I believe (and yes, there is a subtext Grin).

Not massively impressed with the MN "quote" feature. (Or quote "feature" even).

It's pretty much next to useless if you can't trim out the superfluous bits to highlight the exact point you are replying to.

Although I wonder how many posters will delight in quoting themselves (like T.S.Eliot ?)

Question Interesting and not entirely surprising. Though how does that relate to the number of women living in those patriarchies, given that I had India and China in mind amongst the countries that are more patriarchal and where domestic help is more likely to live in and there is already a huge issue with the abuse of domestic helpers?

Interestingly enough, you can't quote quoting posts ...

Not quite sure where MNHQ are spunking all their staff costs on, but it's not modern UI expertise for sure.

For some reason I am reminded of Sirius Cybernetics, and the drinks machine that managed to dispense something almost but not totally unlike tea.

This is almost but not totally a useless quote feature ....

DGRossetti · 27/05/2020 15:31

This is a tad more Banksy-y Grin

That's why I'd be interested in a link to the study this comes from - I'm really interested in the criteria they're using for their comparisons, methodology for data collection, what the rest of the top patriarchal countries are, and how the different countries selected for study measure up against the criteria.

I am watching select committee with subtitles as can't bear to listen to BJ. They have just put deviously when he said previously. 😂😂😂

LouiseCollins28 · 27/05/2020 16:19

Great question from Simon Hoare (I think it was) just now

JeSuisPoulet · 27/05/2020 16:22

I watched HIGNFY this morning and within it was noted that London's crime has gone down 33 or was it 35%. That to me suggests how much crime is based around the home. It could be a handy figure for future "crime comes from overseas" politicking.

missclimpson · 27/05/2020 16:22

Yvette Cooper quoting Mumsnet!

LouiseCollins28 · 27/05/2020 16:26

“Incriminate Dominic Cummings” haha 😂😂
laughable

They'll have to try harder than that.

Sostenueto · 27/05/2020 16:44

Well this bumbling fool of a Priminister is showing his true colours. Caught out several times, lying through his teeth, denying that patients were sent out of hospital into carehomes without being tested for covid. Says there were huge effort to protect carehomes......I'm sorry listening to this buffoon this puppet PM I am gradually losing the will to live....

Sostenueto · 27/05/2020 16:57
