This week has seen reports of the government editing footage of Johnson to avoid embarrassing questions about the early government response.

We've been asked to accept that the rules were different to what we were told to excuse the law breaking behaviour of a senior government advisor. As Johnson said he was being a responsible father (as if Johnson knows what this is) and it wasn't as if he was visiting a lover (this Johnson would know all about). Let's be honest Johnson is the master of brazening out controversy.

We also have the ERG complaining they were lied to by Gove about the new Withdrawal Agreement and the border in the Irish Sea which surprises precisely no one else.

They appear to be a little upset by the Cummings debarkable too.

Seems to me that coming out of lockdown us now a real rush. It's as if they had no real plans....🤔
@MagisCapulus, how did you quote a poster like that?
There's a new function next to report etc.

ListeningQuietly · 26/05/2020 21:24

Drove through the forest for work today
multiple rental camper vans Hmm
large multi family groups in the tourist towns
BUT
really effective social distancing (to about 1m) by the vast majority
THEN AGAIN
apparently big problems with people sitting in pub gardens on the coast with carry outs yesterday Grin

spottedelk · 26/05/2020 21:26

I'd guess that the hold Cummings has over him is to do with money / corruption / selling the UK off?

Tanith · 26/05/2020 21:30

I wondered if Johnson was allowed to get rid of Cummings.

He's obviously much more than a common-or-garden SPAD, or he'd have been out on his ear by now.

ListeningQuietly · 26/05/2020 21:31

tee hee

Yes I suspect Cummings knows the deals with US and possibly China that might overlap, certainly things the GB public would like to know about private healthcare contracts...

Also he may be privvy to Gove and others who are quick to back him having had part of their lockdown unlocked too? Gove and a mistress? Drugs? Could be a lot of things he is aware of seeing as how he has kept them all so close - remember the Leave campaign where he said he loathed them all for jetting off skiing and not working? That hasn't gone away.

Peregrina · 26/05/2020 21:39

There's a new function next to report etc.

Oh yes. I am not sure that it's working for me.

Peregrina · 26/05/2020 21:40

Nope, it didn't. I wonder what I did wrong.

QuestionMarkNow · 26/05/2020 21:43

Peregrina · 26/05/2020 21:48

But it wasn't there for honeysuckle's post of 21:21 but had turned up for LQ's quote of 21:24 - which is why I didn't see it at first.

Chrome is a step too far

AuldAlliance · 26/05/2020 22:02

It looks as if you can quote one post, but then your post with that quote in cannot also be quoted, IYSWIM. Maybe to avoid huge long screeds of multiple quotes?

ListeningQuietly · 26/05/2020 22:04

@BigChocFrenzy

Chrome is a step too far
It works on Firefox.

We'll get tired of this game soon...

BigChocFrenzy · 26/05/2020 22:04

We have local lockdowns in Germany - any area with total new cases > 50 / 100,000 pop in 7 consecutive days

iirc some other European countries use aa similar principal.

However, so far that's been used for a handful of care homes, meat plants, a geriatric hospital a DPD depot,
possibly their surrounding town or district

Funny that in the UK the headline is about housing estates Hmm
when they are a lot less likely to be tested, probably just collatoral damage in a localised lockdown

BigChocFrenzy · 26/05/2020 22:06
