No, not yet, but soon. Just 24 more sleeps until we legally leave the EU at 11pm on 31 January and finally enter the transition period after what seems like centuries of argument, dither and delay. We do so with hope, optimism and a determination to be a good friend and neighbour to the EU, but for now, no one said it better than Winston Churchill.

“This is not the end, this is not even the beginning of the end, this is just perhaps the end of the beginning.”

The Pub Rule is the same as it always was: all welcome but only if you leave goadery outside. The first drink is on the house.

Neither do you Hair but, really, so what? It wasn't being 'nice' that got Farage or Boris or Putin where they are.

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 22:57

Interestingly, the other place debates dissent
Yet you're such a pussy you feel you can only post here and not with the bigger and better intellectuals. Go post there, I'm sure they won't bite.

SingingLily · 18/01/2020 22:59

Michael, I'm so pleased you are here again. I'm sorry to hear of the abuse you had to put up with in previous threads.

All I can say is that some people grow old but they never grow up. Hence the need for additional air vents down the other end of the bar.

Worry not, your place is at this end of the bar, with all the esteemed regulars.

Michael - heed Lily's sage words....!

Come up this end for a cwtch and ignore 🍷

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 23:02

Thank you Lily 😘 I've decided that I won't be shooed away x

SingingLily · 18/01/2020 23:03

And nor should you be, Michael. You are a valued customer. 🍷

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 23:03

Yes I shall ignore, but the level of hypocrisy knows no bounds 👊

SingingLily · 18/01/2020 23:05

I'm afraid the hot air generators at the far end of the bar wouldn't recognise hypocrisy if they stared in the mirror. Grin

Very true 😂

NiceGuyNeddie · 18/01/2020 23:09

Thing is, the price rises haven't happened yet so your DH has no reason to be upset. The upset will come when people start to feel the price they've paid.

Of course your DH might still not mind but a lot of those new Tory voters are already living on the edge and they've been persuaded that Brexit is the answer to all their problems, not the cause of a whole lot of new ones.

SingingLily · 18/01/2020 23:10

Some have hidden talents though.

They can make their own yoghurt.

All they have to do is stare at a pint of milk long enough et voilà!

It works for sour cream too.

It's a gift.

And when I give him what for, for voting Tory, I do hope he's apologetic. Yet he's as ready as I am to say "you frigging Labour voter, let's scrap" Grin We tussle all day long Smile

Coppersulphate · 18/01/2020 23:20

calling us "knuckle dragging big mouths" is debating is it?
Who knew.
Michael, I am so sorry that you have had to put up with such vile nonsense.
Until the last few days this was a peaceful pub.
Vermin are best ignored.

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 23:21

DH voted Tory. I voted Labour (begrudgingly). We're still together Grin

SingingLily · 18/01/2020 23:23

Wise words, Copper. 🍷 for you.

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 23:23

Copper, be careful what you reference from other thread. You'll end up getting deleted like me Grin

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 23:38

And a great big thank you to all who have acknowledged the hateful, disabilist abuse I received whilst here. It was awful at the time but hey ho Wink

NiceGuyNeddie · 18/01/2020 23:49

But it's ok to dish out abuse to others? Hey ho indeed..

SingingLily · 18/01/2020 23:58

Michael, it's a pleasure. I'm turning in now and as you seem to be the only one here please could you lock up when you are ready? Keys in the usual place Wink

Sleep well.

Wonder what the real Michael Fabricant does with his hair at night? One of life's mysteries...

MichaelFabricantsHair · 19/01/2020 01:09

I'm sure he does nothing, hence why it's such a god awful mess.
Yep I'm happy to lock up and Neddie, I'm not trying to excuse my arsey behaviour, I was simply explaining why I hadn't frequented the pub in a while.
Problem? đŸģ

NiceGuyNeddie · 19/01/2020 01:23

Surely he takes it off..!

Not a problem for me, just seems mighty hypocritical

MichaelFabricantsHair · 19/01/2020 01:33

Where have I been dishing out abuse? Feel free to report any of my posts that you feel break guidelines.
One thing I try to avoid being is a hypocrite; I'm certainty no disabilist either (I'd have a job in my shoes) Smile

NiceGuyNeddie · 19/01/2020 01:38

Nah, reporting's not my style, others here can knock themselves out.

Your first post in response to mine yesterday was a jibe and you then repeatedly put the boot in. Today you said I wasn't very nice - nothing worth reporting just a lot of un-called-for snarking

MichaelFabricantsHair · 19/01/2020 02:00

So not on a par with disabilist abuse?
