No, not yet, but soon. Just 24 more sleeps until we legally leave the EU at 11pm on 31 January and finally enter the transition period after what seems like centuries of argument, dither and delay. We do so with hope, optimism and a determination to be a good friend and neighbour to the EU, but for now, no one said it better than Winston Churchill.

“This is not the end, this is not even the beginning of the end, this is just perhaps the end of the beginning.”

The Pub Rule is the same as it always was: all welcome but only if you leave goadery outside. The first drink is on the house.

Troll Hunting is an interesting concept - although I'm not quite sure what it is. I know that I've been called a Troll (probably Russian) many times over the past few years.

Which I do find rather funny. All I can say is, come on in Trolls and warm yourself by the fire. You can be ugly with hairy hands and I won't judge you. It's cold and damp under those bridges this time of year and I don't want you to suffer.

Come in and warm yourself dear Trolls. There was a time not too long ago that Trolls were a thing to be collected (granted little plastic ones with over ambitious hair).

Does my offering of warmth and kindness to all trolls everywhere constitute 'troll hunting'? I think we should be told.

😂😂😂😂😂😂

Love it!

I hide the other threads now, unless I am experiencing a nasty case of insomnia. 😉

Hate to be fair, this threat has a 'strong tradition' of mass reporting of dissent. We may be 'post-truth' but there it is.

On June 24th 2016, many of us predicted that none of the shit-storm that lies ahead will ever be 'the fault' of voting Leave.

And so it has come to pass. The whole fandango has been within the remit of the Tories, who, once again, have been voted in.
So, please 'own' that how it has been handled is entirely the fault of the Referendum calling, then the twice re-voted in Tories. This is your show.

Many of us predicted the agonies and uncertainty business would suffer. As has happened. Many of us predicted many businesses will fail, and people will become unemployed. But- already! It is the fault of those businesses 'failing' to 'adjust'.... to what? Not the fault of jumping in with your Leave with no idea what Leave would look like.

Well here it is. Coming your way.

I hide their threads nowadays Copper

Untrue

I report trolls & people who are being nasty little goady twats on purpose

Dissent? Meh 🤷đŸģ‍♀ī¸

AutumnRose1 · 18/01/2020 20:37

Jarvis for PM!

We’ve all left an important part of our brain somewhere in a field in Hampshire. It would be unifying.

No it doesn't. You had your arse handed to you for being goady and decisive and you took pap.
I used to be a regular poster here a couple of years ago, but what drove me away to lurking was the vile and uncalled for disabilist abuse I received, from a Remainer troll no less. Advance search if you wish, but there'll be a good amount of deletions.

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 20:42

Not decisive Grin I'm head on into an unexpected Lupus flare and think the steroids are getting to me 😂

HateIsNotGood · 18/01/2020 20:44

No prob Miljea and I ping-pong that right back. The Cows have come home, there is little point in arguing who, what, why all of the EU and UK have endured the 'excrutiating uncertainty' over the past few years.

The Uncertain Time was probably necessary to test and re-test that the 2016 Ref Result was a true reflection of the UK Electorate. And it has been proven that it was.

That uncertainty produced casualties, like epics business, not Brexit itself as it hasn't happened yet.

Yes I own that. Do you?

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 20:45

According to a regular poster there we leavers are "knuckle dragging bigmouths
Oh diddums. It's delicious irony that despite what people like that think, my vote cast just as much clout as theirs did. Any more wailing and I just might call a wahhhmbulance 🚑

knuckle dragging bigmouths

😂 love it. Great username actually.

XingMing · 18/01/2020 20:52

My vote and yours count for one vote apiece, and on 12 December 2019, they were counted. Do I need to say more?

XingMing · 18/01/2020 20:54

Perhaps our next thread's title. Bigmouth Arms? Nah, Brexit Arms.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 18/01/2020 20:57

We’ve probably only got one more thread tbh. Not much to say after 31st.

My Friends enjoying the Fire - I've skipped to my loo, so not in the photo.
Thanks all for the food donatos - they really liked the Baked Beans for some reason that I don't quite understand.

But then who am I to judge.

MichaelFabricantsHair · 18/01/2020 21:03

I'm always bemused by the people that call in here under the illusion they're popping in for a swift half and friendly chat but can't quite disguise their contempt and hatred for leavers.
"Ignore my posts if you don't like them" comments don't wash with me. It would be like me posting on a low carb boot camp thread saying just how enjoyable I found my sticky toffee pudding and ice cream to be tonight. I'd be free and welcome to post but be seen as antagonistic at best, goady at worst.

Coppersulphate · 18/01/2020 21:04

Don't say that Dirty, we can't have the Arms close down.

AutumnRose1 · 18/01/2020 21:04

Michael exactly that!

I think it’s fine to keep calling it the Brexit Arms. I presume we can’t find the ghost of Queen Vic at the Queen Vic 😀

I vote, to re-name the pub, the Freedom Arms. Grin

AutumnRose1 · 18/01/2020 21:15

“ Michael, I love you. Never, ever change. ”

No, YOU’VE got something in your eye.

Do you really think that Brexit will be over and done with at the end of this month?
REALLY ?
