Johnson already seems to be hinting at protections for workers rights and the environment that he promised are to be dropped.

Along with enshrining Brexit in law to the end of Dec 2020 thus creating another Brexit no deal date. This time without any safety net in parliament.

"won't Johnson be more liberal than he suggested" they cry

About that...

Yet here you are, posting too many emojis and spitting 'huns' - not really the way to pretend you don't care.

Nothing to do with me so no self-flattery required, just that's it's so painfully obvious

Merely responding to posts directed at me
🤷🏻‍♀️

And def not 'spitting' Confused

Handbags at dawn. midnight, afternoon. evening....

AuldAlliance · 18/12/2019 20:10

Today, I saw a doctor driving in obvious haste towards her surgery, only to find a car parked in her reserved space. She hooted. No reaction. She hooted again. No reaction. She hooted a third time and the driver in her space gave her the finger out the window of his car, yelled, "Fuck off and stop hooting, I was only here for a few seconds!" and then screeched off down the road.
The doctor parked, got out and walked calmly into her surgery to get on with the important things in life.

That's my parable for this evening, folks.

At least you’ve put it on record that you don’t care if your xenophobia is offensive.

DustyDiamond · 18/12/2019 20:30

xenophobia noun
xe·no·pho·bia \ ˌze-nə-ˈfō-bē-ə

Definition of xenophobia:
Fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners or of anything that is strange or foreign

Please stop making personal attacks.

AuldAlliance · 18/12/2019 20:37

I'm not sure I have enough twee parables up my sleeve. And I'm pretty sure no one can be doing with another one.

derxa · 18/12/2019 20:40

Aah, Guy Verhofstadt I have to say he annoys the fuck out of me.

You do all know that Dusty and her pals don't want this thread to exist? They want it to collapse into infighting.

They have successfully removed all mention of Brexit from the popular forums, now they want to shut down these threads.

Just for god's sake only respond to substantive points (there aren't many) and don't rise to the bait.

DustyDiamond · 18/12/2019 20:54

You do all know that Dusty and her pals don't want this thread to exist?

This is untrue

TatianaLarina · 18/12/2019 20:55

It’s not a personal attack, it’s a valid criticism of your OP. And that’s not the OED definition of xenophobia which is more tempered, but I’ll let it pass.

Anyway, enough.

Mother
Quite a few South Asians blamed the EU for Theresa May's visa restrictions
I wonder how they will react to the EU free trade deal with India (that comes with a lot of visas)
just as the UK is leaving Confused

placemats · 18/12/2019 20:56

Howling with laughter Dusty. You really are the gift that keeps on giving.

No wonder there are so many laugh emojis on your thread.

You said I was xenophobic

I am not

It was a personal attack

Here is a kitten, who believes that she is invisible when lying on a grey bathmat. The evil tom who came in via the catflap and attacked her on Sunday night, leaving her so hurt it cost 113€ in vet's bills, won't be fooled, I'm sure.
There's no doubt a parable there, if you can be arsed seeking it out.

In late 1980's/early 1990's Edinburgh, we went "into town" or "up the town", but the latter often involved drinking, whereas the former was more aimed at Tammy Girl, Clockhouse and the Body Shop.

Whatever Dusty

Anyway - I think Starmer could potentially be good.

As an aside - I was impressed with his work on women and rape as DPP.

ListeningQuietly · 18/12/2019 21:04

Auld
Microchip catflaps are wonderful things and save all that stress
(((( your poor kitten ))))

ListeningQuietly · 18/12/2019 21:06

LeClercs new cat is called Dusty
its not properly tame yet - hence he's not sent me a picture to share with you Grin

AuldAlliance · 18/12/2019 21:09

I think Starmer is really good.
I can't get my head around the relevance of Long-Bailey to anything at all, TBH, but haven't heard her speak so am happy to be corrected.

At this rate, Labour will be so dead that they won't even notice Brexit happening when it does.

Guy Verhofstadt is a bit of a twerp, and his tweets are often poorly pitched, IMO, but he doesn't usually tweet about Brexit w/o a reason. The EU have had bloody ages to get their strategy done and dusted while the UK pratted around having GE's and tearing themselves apart So the coming months will be quite eventful. Politely eventful, but pretty rough nonetheless and I am struggling to see who in BJ's entourage is equipped to handle it.

MarshaBradyo · 18/12/2019 21:10

I like Keir but annoying missed him on R4 did anyone hear it - What did you think. He used the word radical I think?

AuldAlliance · 18/12/2019 21:13

I've decided to spend my overtime pay on asked Santa for a microchip catflap.
(I've also asked him for my naturalisation application to come through, as I sent it in on 29/03/18, time is dragging rather and I need a passport to travel for work that won't get me stuck in non-EU queues.)

Looking forward to seeing Leclerc's kitten and soothing suchlikes.
