Brexit

The Brexit Arms. Is this Ben Elton? Is it free mulled wine and mince pies for everyone or a Corb-free Christmas 🎄?

Welcome to the Brexit Arms!

The temporary Landlady is back but worry not, all is festive good cheer with just another three days to go until we reach the Only Poll That Really Matters. Till then, the gloves are still on!

A quick recap of the events of the last week or so:

📋❓💙❤️💛⁉️💙‼️🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️😀☹️😀☹️😧😱🙄😬🤥🤔🤕🗳

Anyone of any political persuasion who is prepared to join in, eschew goadery, and enjoy a laugh, welcome. First drinks are on the house.

I used to like PIE

😳

PIE is veeeery different to Pie Epic....

DustyDiamond · 11/12/2019 15:54

And YY to the Ashworth theories 😮

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 11/12/2019 15:55

Corbyn is proper stuck here, He can’t risk cutting Ashworth loose and have him running around turning off his adoring fans now can he?

‘Bantz’ and ‘odd sense of humour’ it is... 😉

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 11/12/2019 15:55

“PIE is veeeery different to Pie Epic....”

Lol. Terrible autocorrect! 😂

DustyDiamond · 11/12/2019 15:56

😱😱😱

XingMing · 11/12/2019 15:56

Another evil heartless Tory popping in for a bevvy and a chat.

I am so pleased you are all of my NVHO that celebrities should keep their views to themselves. Why do they believe we care what they think? (In Pete Doherty's care, I am surprised that he can still think; re-fried sh*t for brains).

And no, I didn't know the postal votes were already counted either. Another who should be sent back to school.

Did anyone read the CapX article on the impact of Corbyn's 10% share grab would have yesterday? The author agreed with us!

Twattage13 · 11/12/2019 15:57

Hopefully you can access this piece from Daniel Finkelstein in the Times as I've linked directly:

We should all be extremely scared about what the future holds under Labour...McDonnell has been very clear about what he intends to do.

EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 11/12/2019 15:57

“Another evil heartless Tory popping in for a bevvy and a chat.”

Come gather around the cauldron comrade, did you bring the bat wings and hemlock? Grin

Saucery · 11/12/2019 15:57

Genuine lol at the PIE/Pie autocorrect.

SingingLily · 11/12/2019 15:59

“My take on the John Ashworth stuff...

Makes even more sense, Twattage, in the context that he might well have been hinting at the postal vote returns. The message to conflicted Labour voters would be tantamount to permission to join the exodus.

Definitely stay away from PIE, Epic.

Harriet Harman should have heeded that advice.

Mind you, Labour and LibDem efforts to dismantle safeguarding boundaries and erase the meaning of the word ‘woman’ to facilitate that suggests they are massive fans of the original PIE.

It’s the abuse of their platform that irritates me most. That because they are famous and wealthy, they are elevated as if they are experts on the matter, more so than the ordinary public. They are entitled to their personal views, I just think using a platform the rest of us don’t enjoy, to shove their opinions down our throats and attempt to influence us is outrageous, and the very definition of privilege at work.

Amen! 🙏

Yy, “It’s only the price of a Netflix subscription” from people earning far, far more than the average wage gets on my tits. Good for you, mate, away and donate to some charities then.

Ala Lily Allen? Oh, no hang on, it was HER that was homeless... 😂

XingMing · 11/12/2019 16:16

DH is looking forward to a politics-free Today programme tomorrow morning and finding out what's happening elsewhere in the world. I keep suggesting the World Service but the kitchen radio isn't digital.

It’s going to be so weird... like we have dropped into another dimension. However, I very much welcome it! Are there mumsnet rules on it all? Or can we carry on as usual? 🙏😂

XingMing · 11/12/2019 16:22

If I missed reading it above, the Times online has published an eve of polling warning from 15 exLabour MPs who've taken out full page ads in regional media to warn the waverers that "Jeremy Corbyn is not fit to be PM".

SingingLily · 11/12/2019 16:29

We've travelled through the Looking Glass, haven't we?

She needn't look at me to offer her houseroom.

Just had a phone call from my MP. Will I do a stint as a teller at my local polling station tomorrow for two hours. I said yes.

She's a decent MP and I've been giving her earache for three years so it seems only fair.

Will try not to look Evil but the blue rosette might be a bit of a giveaway.
