Westminsterenders: Talent or Colour

RTB and BCF are presumably busy with more important things. I'm clearly not qualified to start a Westminsterenders thread - but somebody has to take control and collect the waifs and strays.

The party of no talent want to introduce no colour into our lives.

6 days to the election.

Johnson is still a liar.

Corbyn is still apparently loved by Labour members and hated by everyone else.

Swinson is still a charming PTA chair.

UK Diplomat resigns, objecting to the famous definition of her job: An Honest women fed up with lying about Brexit on behalf of her country.

Dark money funding anti-Corbyn ads on the internet:

thebristolcable.org/2019/11/general-election-2019-online-falsehoods-social-media-dark-money-influencing-voters-in-filton-and-bradley-stoke/

And, obviously, there will be so, so many ads that we aren't seeing.

And, as with the Leave campaign, it takes serious money and organisation to run this sort of campaign - including our old friend data-scraping.

yolofish · 06/12/2019 17:01

thank you fishesaplenty from another fish! Cant be doing without a Westminstenders thread...

MistiMorning · 06/12/2019 17:04

pmk

Another thread, another username.

KeithPartridge · 06/12/2019 17:05

I tried to not watch these threads some days back as it occurred to me I was massively stressed about the election rather than enjoying the run up to Christmas which hands down is my favourite time of year. But I can't help it I'm obsessed!😭 I am going to prepare myself for a Tory majority then concentrate on helping NI secure a referendum for reunification to get back into the EU. Silver linings etc.

Peregrina · 06/12/2019 17:06

PMK - assuming this is the latest thread.

thecatfromjapan · 06/12/2019 17:07

Lewis Goodall
@lewis_goodall

Is doing some around-the-country reporting. He's been chatting to voters in Birmingham and reporting back on Twitter.

He senses a mistrust of Corbyn, fuelled, in part, by targeted Facebook ads:

'Labour vote felt much softer.

Corbyn a much a bigger problem than in 2017. Then he barely seemed known.

The vitriol for JC now v strong from working class voters, mainly fuelled by Facebook ads. Repeated mentions of links to the IRA/terrorism, which have been circulated online'

These ads ...
Obviously, I never see them.

It's all quite grim.

TheMustressMhor · 06/12/2019 17:07

You know something?

I am about to retire after 40 years of being a midwife.

That's about 2,000 babies delivered, give or take a couple.

PMK (with cat, of course)

And yes, thank you, fishes.

TheMustressMhor · 06/12/2019 17:08

And I am so very sad that the NHS I served for so long has gradually been decimated and will continue to be decimated.

Sigh.

UK Diplomat resigns, objecting to the famous definition of her job

Is there a link to the actual letter? I couldn't see it.

John1971 · 06/12/2019 17:11

Just when we needed a great Prime Minister we got Johnson - 50% coward and 50% liar.

MistiMorning · 06/12/2019 17:11

I'm enjoying the Alexandra Hall resignation (Brexit envoy to the US).

Civil servant resigns because the government is telling her to lie to the public. Hardly anyone in the U.K. will care, but to normal countries we look like a banana republic (except we that we have no bananas, and we still have Brenda).

KeithPartridge · 06/12/2019 17:11

Cat it is so grim. These same people don't have a word to say about the Tories getting into bed with the DUP, the political wing of the UVF and who hold secret meetings with them so that these terrorists can dictate policy that affected people all across the UK. I just wish people weren't so fucking ignorant! They can't think independently or critically to save their fucking lives!

Sorry for the bad language...I find I am swearing a lot more these past few weeks.😭

MistiMorning · 06/12/2019 17:13

I don't know if there is a letter, but this seems to be an Alexandra Hall quote.

Wandering over form random multiple threads. Cat has now had a bad stomach all week after his squirrel antics.

I shall find cat in Christmas tree pic in a mo for some festive cheer.
