Just for balance, y'know, during the election period Smile

Fuck you for the corrupt racist lying bastard you are. I know you don't give a shit about our country - our laws, our democracy, our standards. I know the NHS is on the table.

I know you will end up like Trump - disgraced and vilified.

Some things work fine under private provision. Easy, quick operations with high profit margins can be happily cherry-picked from the state system. But funnily enough, for-profit systems aren't so keen to pick up the tab for complex, high-risk, expensive cases. Why do you think there is no private NICU in the UK that takes babies born under 30 weeks? Relatedly, do you know how many people have to file for medical bankruptcy in the US, when their treatment gets a bit too expensive and difficult and they get dropped by their insurance company?

We need a state health system. Everything points to the current crop of Tories wanting to dismantle it completely. I'm not sure what reference to past Tory governments means in this context. I remember having to wait 8 hours in A&E with a serious hand injury in the late 80s. That's because then, like now, it was being starved of funds. It got better under Blair. The only difference now is that this bunch of crazed neoliberal nutcases are going where even Thatcher feared to tread, facilitated by a lot of people wilfully ignoring what is in plain sight about what is planned for our essential social services.

Tanith · 09/12/2019 13:40

I remember the NHS under the Thatcher and Major governments and they had it on its knees then.
People were on trolleys in corridors because there were no beds available for them. Some died there.
Wards were closed because there was no-one to staff them. Waiting lists were months long.

No Conservative government has ever been good for the NHS. They despise it.

Xenia · 09/12/2019 14:52

Everything does not point to Tories wanting to be rid of the NHS> Everything points to their wanting to keep it.

Aquilla · 09/12/2019 14:55

And yet he's not a commie so he still wins.

lonelyplanetmum · 09/12/2019 15:09

Everything points to the ToryERGs wanting to shrink the NHS until it disappears. Electioneering points to their wanting to keep this quiet.

Unusualsuspicion · 09/12/2019 16:15

Xenia have you actually listened to any NHS staff recently or been in an A&E, or indeed had any interaction at all with the NHS? Not many people who have would say that it's safe in Tory hands. We had 4-8 hour waiting times under Thatcher, then we didn't under Blair/Brown and now, bingo, the Tories are back and we have toddlers lying on coats on A&E floors again. Odd that.

Tanith · 09/12/2019 16:33

"Tory MPs largely do not care about these poorer people. They don't care about the NHS" Dominic Cummings in 2017

itsgettingweird · 09/12/2019 16:39

I've always been labour.

Have also been vocal that Corbyn isn't my fave labour leader!

However the last few weeks and debates on Tv have made me warm to him. I think he's very clear on what he plans and sticks to it whatever's said. He's fair on brexit. No he isn't a leave supporter but will draw a deal and let public decide if it's what he wants or not and has been fairly clear on why a soft brexit is needed.

BK just repeats a deal is ready to go and we'll leave on 31st Jan. Seriously though? When they haven't had a deal for the past 3 years they can get passed?! He also literally has no idea on how the lower income and poverty families lives are. He lives in a bubble.

I loved the question about capitalism in the debate. JC answered well. BJ just repeated the same old crap

Cam77 · 09/12/2019 16:45

Johnson refusing to look at picture of four year old child on hospital floor when confronted by ITV reporter. Proceeds to pocket the reporters phone(!) while mouthing empty platitudes. What a guy.

GiantKitten · 09/12/2019 20:00

@DustyDiamond

Corbyn understands that hard decisions - even stomach-turning ones - have to be made if we want to get anywhere near peace, that's how the Good Friday Agreement was acheived, something I never thought possible growing up with the fear of IRA attacks in the 70's.

Corbyn had cock all to do with the peace process in NI

You think that; what’s your source? Hmm

Fuck you Boris Johnson
Fuck you Boris Johnson
Dusty01 · 09/12/2019 20:31

As a patient I’ve seen the NHS go massively down hill in the last 9 years. Same with schools.

Both definitely improved under Labour. Not just a bit. The improvement was significant.

The disbelievers must use private schools and have private health care. Or perhaps they just have really bad memories.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 09/12/2019 21:12

In November 2005, when I needed (instructions from the specialist) to have a check-up six months after a hospital appointment, I booked it for a time and on a day of my choice in May 2006.

In November 2019, when I needed to have a check-up (instructions from the specialist) six months after a hospital appointment, the first one available was in December 2020.

Same condition, same hospital, same specialist. Slightly more urgent because it has got slightly worse and I am fourteen years older.

I have a sort of vague suspicion that the hospital may be suffering from a lack of doctors and nurses these days. And its A&E was closed in October 2012, so that the nearest place to go for any treatment if your retina detaches after six in the evening is sixteen miles away in a different town.

colouringinpro · 09/12/2019 21:42

FUCK YOU BORIS and your cynical destruction of the NHS and ITS wonderful staff; your clear distaste for anyone not as rich and privileged as you and your blatant offensive lying which shows you to be totally morally bankrupt. Disgusting man.

Xenia · 09/12/2019 22:24

Not everyone shares that view, colouring. I don't. Let us see who wins on Thursday.

ArseDarkly · 09/12/2019 23:34

You sound tired and doubtful Xenia.

yellowallpaper · 10/12/2019 09:21

FUCK YOU CORBYN, SWINSON AND FARAGE too. Just for balance 🤣

Politicians are just vile at the moment. I wouldn't trust any of them.

MaxNormal · 10/12/2019 09:28

yellowallpaper there are already threads for those.

Pan2 · 10/12/2019 10:22

Whoever 'wins' on Thursday won't make a difference to the fact Johnson is a cunt.

There is of course the notion that a country deserves whatever govt it voted for. But as usual so many people will be voting directly against their best interest, and the NHS preservation is one of those best interest.

We appear to have become used to food banks, UC, homelessness, decrepit health service, poor social care, crumbling (literally) schools, xenophobia, extremely biased media, lying politicians to the point of not challenging them any more, the foundations of democracy being shredded, to the point of voting not only for the same, but much more barbarity in the same.

This election isn't about Brexit. It's about fundamentals of who we are as a country.

Xenia · 10/12/2019 10:35

We are all entitled to our own views.

The country always does better under the Tories.

SeaWitchly · 10/12/2019 10:41

Yanbu OP. Fuck Boris Grin

Pan2 · 10/12/2019 10:49

Xenia - you are simply lying. There is an awful lot of it about though, so I do see how this can happen.

ArseDarkly · 10/12/2019 11:19

The country always does better under the Tories.

Amazing how people will cling to this nonsense against ALL the evidence.

OP posts:
EpicShitDippedBatBiscuit · 10/12/2019 12:01

Speaking of evidence.

What does Jonathon Ashworth think of St Jezza... hmm, it’s a conundrum 🤔

Straight from the shadow health ministers mouth, I bring you...

CendrillonSings · 10/12/2019 12:04

Yep - Comrade Corbyn’s own health secretary is on tape saying he’s a disaster who’s betrayed his own voters and a threat to national security!

Oops! Grin
