It looks like a December General Election is on.

The EU have officially extended A50 until 31st January. We have to name an EU Commissioner though.

All that seems left to do is decide between the 9th and 12th December.

The difference between the two is about whether there is any possibility that the WAB can be passed before Parliament dissolves.

A pre-brexit GE is thought to favour the LDs at the expense of Labour and the Conservatives. What the Brexit Party decide to do and where they decide to stand will also be crucial.

How will that go down over here?

A US president intervening in a UK general election ? Should be shot down in flames across the globe.

Should be. Bet he isn't.

For every country that remains silent on this: you're next.

DGRossetti · 31/10/2019 17:28

I think this might be a time to contact the US ambassador to the Court of St. James ?

AutumnCrow · 31/10/2019 17:28

Esther McVey seems vaguely human in Housing portfolio as opposed to being a dead-eyed barracuda in Work & Pensions.

Alsohuman · 31/10/2019 17:29

Wtaf? That should help Labour considerably.

PotterHead1985 · 31/10/2019 17:31

He'll pop up soon enough in the House of Lords.

AutumnCrow · 31/10/2019 17:35

I think tears are allowed because it's the end of an era, and we're worried for our children / next generation, and we're seeing a defender of backbench voices leaving the stage. It's uncharted territory now.

There's a reason @borisjohnson was booed out of Addenbrooks today.

Pretending his party loves the NHS after a decade of running it into the ground is, essentially, a way of gaslighting frontline staff.

Conditions have never been so grim.

Shame on him.

Mummmy I don't normally engage with you, but your contempt for the next generation of young people is just disgusting.

My DD1 is a student. She works hard. She volunteers in a museum. She mentors other students who have mental health problems because she has been there herself.

She is a better human being than you by far.

My ds1 is 16.

He volunteers at a foodbank, hepld snyone who asks and is someone I'm proud to know.

The old 70s/80s comedy trope about lazy students is as fake as your stories about your poor background and Tory votes.

One might almost think your uk cultural references are taken from 70d and 80s YouTube clips....

MockersthefeMANist · 31/10/2019 18:10

Speaking as an 80s student, I resemble that remark.

We slept late, but that was (partly) becaue we were up late reading things called books, which seem to have gone out of fashion.

AutumnCrow · 31/10/2019 18:29

Oh dear, tropey mummmy got caught out

Me150267 · 31/10/2019 18:33

OMG Did someone just say queer have I just been transported back to the 70's for crying out loud.

AutumnCrow · 31/10/2019 18:39

Depends if it was 'queer' situated within queer theory or intended as othering,

Unionists may allow a Sinn Féin win to decapitate the DUP

The DUP have really pissed off other Unionists, their bungling plans having led to a permanent "frontstop"
Question is how many seats it might cost them

DUP faces election threat as it is blamed for bringing disaster on union and devolution

DGRossetti · 31/10/2019 18:52

Speaking as an 80s student, I resemble that remark.

I pulled a few 24-hour stints getting course and team work finished ...
