GE is on! Remainers how will you vote?

Just that really! The General Election is on, either 11th Dec or a few days before but it's going to happen now that Labour have agreed. Tactical voting websites are being prepared as we speak.

If you are a remainer, who will you vote for?

(And if any leavers lurk here, will you vote for Tories or Brexit party?)

Tactical website advises Labour for me (remainer) tactical.vote/

LatteLover12 · 29/10/2019 22:12

Labour.

The tories have destroyed this country with their systematic underfunding of public services and I have no doubt that they seek to privatise our health and education systems.

Watching families go hungry due to government policy is never going to be a vote winner for me.

Genuinely, if you vote Tory, knowing the most vulnerable people in our society are suffering to the point that they kill themselves, then I don't know how you sleep at night.

Tolleshunt · 29/10/2019 22:13

Remainer, so will be voting Lib Dem, as the only party in with a chance that actually supports remain. For me it’s a total no-brainer.

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 29/10/2019 22:14

@Greggers2017
"Any vote other than conservative or labour will be a wasted vote."
Are you talking about where you live or generally - because generally that's just not true. It depends entirely where you live. Even in a safe seat - a vote for a smaller party increases their vote share and the argument for parliamentary reform.

milliefiori · 29/10/2019 22:14

Remainer. Lib Dem. Definitely. Not at all happy with Labour and would never vote Tory.

TulipsInAJug · 29/10/2019 22:14

There was nothing democratic about the referendum.

Astonishing thing to say.

I'll be voting Tory. I respect democracy and want to see the people's vote delivered. Don't tell me I'm stupid and wrong because I've heard all the insults before and guess what it hasn't made a damn bit of difference.

Labour. I live in the North East and want to support my labour remainer MP who must've had a barrage of abuse this past year

thecatfromjapan · 29/10/2019 22:20

I'm going to re-post what HFPA posted, because it's so important.

This GE is going to be all about people versus money (and goodness only knows where that money will come from).

It will be about tactical voting and getting people out to vote - when it's dark and cold and they may not feel like voting.

Getting involved is going to make a huge difference.
I
wonder if everyone realises that ANYONE can go and help out a party in ANY constituency? If you're in a Tory safe seat and think there's nothing you can do to help, that really isn't true. Find your nearest marginal for the party you would like to support and contact their local office. Doesn't have to be doorknocking - just delivering leaflets helps or even just writing out envelopes. There'll be a lot of crowdfunding initiatives coming up so consider donating to one of those.

EngTech · 29/10/2019 22:23

Now the question is, will there be an argument post election result and people asking for another GE to get the right result? 😳😳

Sakura7 · 29/10/2019 22:23

How anyone can blame Boris for this mess amazes me

Not sure if serious Hmm

TulipsInAJug · 29/10/2019 22:24

Scifi

Thank you, as on cue - the insults! Grin Water off a duck's back.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 29/10/2019 22:25

Tactical voting website agrees with my original plan to vote Labour. I find the whole thing exhausting to be honest.

'The people' were a bunch of idiots to vote leave, the MPs we are supposed to trust to represent our interests are self serving gits who went all out to lie and cheat to us to get what they wanted.

Now we have a choice between crap, crap, crap and hopeless on 12th December.

Oct18mummy · 29/10/2019 22:25

Remainer = LIB DEMS

TulipsInAJug · 29/10/2019 22:27

Perhaps after the election the result will be disputed and there will be a campaign to overturn it... After all, I'm sure some lies will be told, which will make the whole thing illegal, and people will be too stupid and uneducated to make the right choice, so their votes won't really count.

ArseDarkly · 29/10/2019 22:27

Outsomnia - please don't feed the bot

siriusblackthemischieviouscat · 29/10/2019 22:31

Lib dem probably

bitheby · 29/10/2019 22:35

Lib Dem. We've only just recently had a by-election within the last 3 months. Can't believe we have to do it all again.

Alsohuman · 29/10/2019 22:36

Staunch remainer so it’s LibDem. Not that it matters in the Tory stronghold where I live.

Namenic · 29/10/2019 22:37

Remainer - prefer LD to Labour. Tories v unlikely to get in where I live.

StaronAinthorpe · 29/10/2019 22:40

Well, safe Tory seat, cannot-think-for-themselves incumbent got over half of vote last time although it was a 60% remain vote in Ref. LD's usually main opponents but did really badly in 2017 and L beat them - so I see all the tactical voting stuff puts L as choice - but I'm sure that's not correct. LD wiped the floor in locals this year.

TatianaLarina · 29/10/2019 22:41

Not where I live, we have both uni fees and private energy companies ownership. BUT, if Brexit happens then the uni fees will be much much higher for Brits.

The EU countries I know that have uni fees are a tiny fraction of the U.K. fees.

sunglasses123 · 29/10/2019 22:42

Lots of people last election on this site said Lib Dem’s or Green and they had a really bad GE.

Greens have 1 MP

TwigTheWonderKid · 29/10/2019 23:00

I am a staunch remainer. Despite my extreme frustration at the way the Labour Party has handled the Brexit situation, I could (and frequently do) weep when I see the fucking mess the Tory government (aided and abetted by the Lib Dems for 5 years, please can we not forget that) has caused. The massive rise in homelessness, the underfunding of our children's schools, social care, the police force, the damage done to the NHS, cuts to the benefits of the most vulnerable members of our society. I honesty don't understand how so many people have just stood by and let this happen for so long. It definitely has some problems and I know it's far from perfect, but I will be voting Labour as I believe it's the only mainstream party which wants to do the right thing and whose heart is in the right place, and that's what's important to me.
