Brexit

GE is on! Remainers how will you vote?

Just that really! The General Election is on, either 11th Dec or a few days before but it's going to happen now that Labour have agreed. Tactical voting websites are being prepared as we speak.

If you are a remainer, who will you vote for?

(And if any leavers lurk here, will you vote for Tories or Brexit party?)

It’s interesting how many people are saying their Labour MPs are excellent. Often female. Maybe I’m missing something but I’ve not seen any posts saying the same thing about MPs from other parties.

Evenquieterlife33 · 29/10/2019 21:29

Don’t know for the first time in my life! Can’t vote Tory, because- just what a mess they have made so far of all this. Boris Johnson is actually P.M. its unbelievable. Can’t vote labour while they have their all women short lists open to men (!?!) they are mental. Can’t vote Lib Dem because they are absolutely Bat-shit crazy on the ground where I live. Brexit party I wouldn’t bother with.

WarwickLife · 29/10/2019 21:31

I think you'll have to vote for the best of a bad lot @Evenquieterlife33

I don’t think that Brexit will be the main issue for people voting.

Evenquieterlife33 · 29/10/2019 21:38

@WarwickLife
I’d like to if I could work out who that is. All the choices are heartbreakingly poor at the moment. I don’t feel any of them represent my views at all.

Cattenberg · 29/10/2019 21:43

Remainer

It’s between the Tories and Lib-Dem here, so I’m voting Lib-Dem. This election is all about Brexit, so I don’t think now is the time to make a protest vote regarding women’s rights. I honestly think it would be an own goal.

My Tory MP doesn’t just have beliefs I can’t agree with, she is also remarkably lazy and has a reputation for rarely bothering to answer letters from constituents. I really hope she goes.

RedJoan · 29/10/2019 21:45

Remainer and probably Lib Dem, if not Green which means nothing in a Tory stronghold. But I can’t vote labour or conservative.

thecatfromjapan · 29/10/2019 21:49

I'm a bit late to this thread but this

www.bestforbritain.org/getvoting?recruiter_id=281829

Is a link to the Best for Britain tactical voting app.

I think their data is very good - so this is useful if you are thinking of voting tactically.

AJPTaylor · 29/10/2019 21:50

Lib dems. Tory stronghold. Labour have zero chance.

CendrillonSings · 29/10/2019 21:53

Conservative all the way - Boris' Deal takes No Deal off the table, and Corbynite socialism would finish the economy off altogether. Easy choice.

HPFA · 29/10/2019 21:56

I'm in a LibDem constituency so no question for me. Also had the local LibDem Councillor already on phone asking for help, which I will certainly be giving.

I wonder if everyone realises that ANYONE can go and help out a party in ANY constituency? If you're in a Tory safe seat and think there's nothing you can do to help, that really isn't true. Find your nearest marginal for the party you would like to support and contact their local office. Doesn't have to be doorknocking - just delivering leaflets helps or even just writing out envelopes. There'll be a lot of crowdfunding initiatives coming up so consider donating to one of those.

Ermmm…….

Any vote other than conservative or labour will be a wasted vote.

MostlyHappyMummy · 29/10/2019 22:02

I feel it's a shame if people decide who to vote for in a general election based solely on how they feel about our position within the EU.
A party's Domestic policy should be the deciding factor.
But that's just my opinion

Downton57 · 29/10/2019 22:02

SNP, even though I don't particularly relish the thought of independence, because Scotland needs to stay in Europe more than it needs this toxic union with Westminster and SNP have been staunchly Remain. I'm in a strongly Remain area with a Tory MP who has voted for the Leave Deal several times, and hopefully will be voted out for betraying his constituents.

somanyresusablebags · 29/10/2019 22:02

Plaid. Tactically.

Not indycurious but we have an excellent mp. They are ramping up indy talk, so this may be last plaid vote.

MsTSwift · 29/10/2019 22:04

Lib Dem our city bats between Tory and Lib Dem labour not a chance here so quite an easy one for us

MummyShah369 · 29/10/2019 22:06

I am definitely going Lib Dem stop this ridiculously crazy Brexit no need.for a people's vote... general election is enough to stop this nonsence

Sakura7 · 29/10/2019 22:06

Any vote other than conservative or labour will be a wasted vote.

That depends entirely on your constituency. There are Tory/Lib Dem marginals where Labour and the Greens don't have a hope. If you want the Tories out, Labour is a wasted vote. Same is true of voting Lib Dem in a Tory/Labour marginal.

Sunshine1239 · 29/10/2019 22:07

Tory’s totally

How anyone can blame Boris for this mess amazes me

I can’t wait for results day

Iflyaway · 29/10/2019 22:07

(no university fees, state ownership of energy companies) are very mainstream in the rest of Europe.

Not where I live, we have both uni fees and private energy companies ownership. BUT, if Brexit happens then the uni fees will be much much higher for Brits.

LAlady · 29/10/2019 22:09

LibDem. My staunch Tory, all his life, DH has actually joined the LibDems - something I never thought I'd see. This election is going to be very interesting.

Outsomnia · 29/10/2019 22:10

FPTP is a Shyte electoral system designed to keep those of us with views other than L or T down. For shame, and democracy my arse. Sorry am raging.

TeuchterTraveller · 29/10/2019 22:11

SNP, next step Scottish independence hopefully.

CleverLoginName · 29/10/2019 22:11
