Quite coincidentally I too have been in negotiations today regarding the pubs licence and it's good news here as well, a deal has been agreed!!

There were no amendments or legal objections put forward so a shiny new licence has been issued and normal service can be resumed Smile

Same rules apply.

Now let's hope Saturday's proceedings can go ahead without the usual dicking around and that what has been nigh on impossible during the last 3 years, a majority, can be achieved otherwise I feel we are off to hell in a handcart!

First drink is on the house 🍻🍷🍻🍷Cheers

Where's dirty?

time4chocolate · 19/10/2019 23:21

This is what happens if you operate in an echo chamber

This is what happens, when you're in a pub, with a few mates, and suddenly the only thing that matters is your own voice

Miljah - have you had one too many and stumbled onto the wrong thread, I'll happily point you back in the right direction so you can to re-post that in Westministenders (It's my duty as landlady to make sure everyone gets home safely) Smile.

Whatevs.

If it makes you feel superior & clever to carry on like that to other people, then so be it 🤷🏻‍♀️

DustyDiamond · 19/10/2019 23:22

Goodnight. And reflect.

😂😂😂

GreenishMe whoever wrote the text for that must have been a bit pissed, it is quite the rant. Jeremy Corbett??

twofingerstoEverything · 20/10/2019 07:26

In a nutshell: Oi, Corbett! Do what I want, or I'll vote Tory.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 20/10/2019 08:20

GreenishMe - I never sign these petitions as they achieve diddly squat ( a bit like marches ) plus you’ve spelt Corbyn’s name wrong.
But I agree with the general gist of it.

Mistigri · 20/10/2019 08:40

PM in Wakefield, Sept 5th.

“Can you make a promise today to the British Public that you will not go back to Brussels and ask for another extension?

“Yes. I can. I would rather be dead in a ditch”

Has anyone checked on the PM's whereabouts this morning?

Parker231 · 20/10/2019 08:42

I’m sure the EU will grant the extension this week - they have always been supportive of their members so won’t risk the impact of a no deal exit on Ireland.

bellinisurge · 20/10/2019 08:52

If he's clever Confused we'll get a short "technical " extension to do the necessary legislative doings to support the WA.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 20/10/2019 08:58

I’m hoping the EU will take control of this now & not grant an extension. They are coming out as the sensible ones in all this & can clearly see our parliament couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery, & it’s all just party politics game playing.,
Please EU, put us out of our misery and kick us out on the 31st.

howabout · 20/10/2019 09:23

Wonder if the EU would consider a Letwin type caveat to the extension.

So either 1) pass the Deal and all related paperwork by mid-Nov or 2) pass the Deal subject to a yes/no confirmatory vote to be held within 6 weeks.

So the safe Deal option is the option 1 and the No Deal option is option 2.

Option 3) In order to block the Deal and No Deal the Remainers in Parliament would be forced to table a pure Revoke amendment.

The EU would get an outcome in 6 weeks and would not have "decided for us", which is the main political risk for them.

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 09:27

I'm hoping that's what the EU come back with Bellini

They know that a long extension will just be used for more dicking around & could possibly result in yet another extension request

It makes most sense for BJ to bring back the WA vote tomorrow (hopefully it would pass, which shows it has support), then the EU could come out with a technical extension offer only which would stymie manoeuvres to attempt to change it (2nd ref etc).

That way, there is time for all the different stages to be done properly, with proper scrutiny & we can move on & Leave in Nov at some point.

Unfortunately... there are murmurings that Bercow may decide that they cant bring it again on Monday as it is bringing the same question a 2nd time (which is what he banned TM from doing earlier this year)

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 09:34

That's quite a nifty solution Howabout

So the 'confirmatory vote' (2nd ref) would be asking us if we want to leave with that deal (yes or no answer), rather than a do you want this deal or remain?

howabout · 20/10/2019 09:35

I think the Bercow murmurings are wrong Dusty. The House actually signalled approval for the Deal subject to seeing and passing WAB etc yesterday by passing Letwin (I think)

In the end they didn't bother with the 2nd vote because a definitive decision became impossible due to Letwin caveat.

Sunnyuplands · 20/10/2019 09:37

Blistering article by Andrew Roberts

Re name lib dem : authoritarian anti democratic party.

He asks for investigation on how it's come to an elite choosing to ignore a result because they choose too.
He said the elite won't lead this investigation, nor lawyers.. And even bercow bollocks to brexit sticker will be investigated as well as his trashing his position in commons.

He said bbc will be investigated, and the supreme Court judges.
I look forward to it so we are never ever held in this position ever again.

howabout · 20/10/2019 09:38

Yep Dusty and there is quite a lot of EU precedent for that sort of question. Would need to check but I think that was even how the confirmatory vote in the 70s after we joined was asked.

Sunnyuplands · 20/10/2019 09:38

If bercow does that!!!!

DustyDiamond · 20/10/2019 09:41

It's going to be an exciting week definitely!

bellinisurge · 20/10/2019 09:43

@Sunnyuplands , that's the kind of tedious shit Trump comes out with on a weekly basis.

Parker231 · 20/10/2019 09:52

The idiot Gove has said the UK is definitely leaving on 31 October. It’s as pathetic as Boris in a ditch comment.

time4chocolate · 20/10/2019 09:55

Bellini What's tedious about it? I thought is was quite a good article and raised some interesting (and somewhat uncomfortable for some) questions.
