Saw that coming a mile off Sad

BertrandRussell · 08/10/2019 12:00

Looks like it. The Disaster Capitalists will be pleased. I bet they were worried for a nano second there, but Boris saved the day.

Bluntness100 · 08/10/2019 12:02

No it can't be no deal, thr government needs to seek an extension legally.

Honestly it's not complicated. If we can't get a deal we will get an extension, how can people still be confused on this?

Because 1/ there's no guarantee that we'll get an extension, and 2/ we know that Boris and Cummings are cooking something up to get out of seeking an extension despite what the court was told.

LisaRoundTheMulberryBush · 08/10/2019 12:08

It's hardly a foregone conclusion that the EU will have an extension.

How can people still be confused on this?

LisaRoundTheMulberryBush · 08/10/2019 12:09

*give

MonnaLIza · 08/10/2019 12:09

it's not over yet.

LisaRoundTheMulberryBush · 08/10/2019 12:09

we know that Boris and Cummings are cooking something up to get out of seeking an extension despite what the court was told.

Oh come on, are you suggesting that Boris Johnson would wilfully break the law???

LisaRoundTheMulberryBush · 08/10/2019 12:10

That was me being facetious, in case that wasn't obvious.

elprup · 08/10/2019 12:10

Exactly. I can’t believe anyone would be so naive as to think otherwise! Personally I think they’ve had assurances from another member state that they will veto any extension.

Absolutely not. A big boy will make him do it.

ImNotYourGranny · 08/10/2019 12:12

Odds say it's Hungary.

Bluntness100 · 08/10/2019 12:13

Oh for goodness sake, he has assured the court of session that he will seek the extension, you need to separate the hyperbole from the reality. And even if he did wilfully break the law, which he won't, then it's irrelevant, the court will simply appoint someone else to seek the extension,

And yes the eu will grant the extension, likely for longer. They don't want no deal any more than we do. Don't be silly, 🤣

Bluntness100 · 08/10/2019 12:14

Come back in a couple of weeks. No member state will veto. 🤣

ImNotYourGranny · 08/10/2019 12:15

The reality is that Boris Johnson is a liar.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 08/10/2019 12:16

The EU have always said they will grant an extension, for a valid reason. A general election is on of those.
So next step GE. Just when; before or after Xmas?

NewNameGuy · 08/10/2019 12:17

blogs.spectator.co.uk/2019/10/how-number-10-view-the-state-of-the-negotiations/

If I were boris I'd write the letter I needed to.
With a PS saying don't bother giving the extension as we won't work with you

MockersthefeMANist · 08/10/2019 12:19

The letter will be sent by someone empowered to send it. The extension will be granted. An election will follow. It won't be pretty.

nancy75 · 08/10/2019 12:20

Haven't Hungary said they wouldn't risk pissing off Germany with a veto?

RhinoskinhaveI · 08/10/2019 12:24

It'll be alright on the night

oldwhyno · 08/10/2019 12:26

How will an extension help get a deal? If we can't do it now, how will we do it next month?

ImNotYourGranny · 08/10/2019 12:30

How will an extension help get a deal? If we can't do it now, how will we do it next month?

It'll mean a general election which either the tories will win and go full no deal, lib dems will win and they'll revoke, labour will win and do fuck knows or more likely it'll be hung again and the endless nightmare will continue.

LisaRoundTheMulberryBush · 08/10/2019 12:30

Exactly. But bluntness apparently has a crystal ball Hmm

That made me roar with laughter! What, some one who will fully lies to the Queen (and the rest of the country on an almost daily basis) Of course he would!!
