The Supreme Court case continues
(ruling possible Friday but likely Monday)

The new NI proposal is bollocks and Johnson didn't get why until it was discussed in Europe.

There was a press conference in Luxembourg which looks good for Johnson.

Johnsons approval ratings are up.

And we are making no obvious progress to anything but no deal...

All this unofficial electioneering pisses me off. Angry

DeRigueurMortis · 20/09/2019 13:38

Basil we are still missing the obligatory kissing a baby picture....

Pilcrow · 20/09/2019 13:39

Totally agree. There's such massive, massive ignorance about what WW2 actually meant for those living through it.

I'll never forget watching, a long time ago, one of those very first reality TV programmes - I think it was The 1940s House. The woman of the family was aghast when they told her about rationing and appeared to be completely ignorant of the historical fact that this had happened. In their normal life they merrily binned all perfectly good food if it had gone 2 seconds past its sell-by date.

I had 2 parents who lived through and served in the war, and one grew up in a city that was a major target and was bombed more or less every night. People died - families were devastated. That preposterous twat Mark Francois and co conveniently forget this. It's not all cosy black and white films and Vera Lynn ffs.

How quickly we forget, indeed.

prettybird · 20/09/2019 13:40

bellinisurge · 20/09/2019 13:40

According to the Brexit Arms thread, Leavers never mention WWII 😂😂😂

MrPan · 20/09/2019 13:48

Francois has the sort of face I would never, ever get sick of kicking.

Sure, I'd have a break and take some fluids on, but I'd be back on the task, with gusto.

I'd be open to be sponsored.......

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/09/2019 13:50

dh arrived back this morning from an overseas work trip to find his wife still ranting and really upset about the fourth racist and/or upsetting Brexit related event I've personally encountered in the past three weeks. Poor chap.

As he's really jet lagged, I may be able to have the same vent to him after he's had a sleep without him remembering too much about the first.

I have Travellers in the Third Reich in my bedside drawer. I'm afraid to read it until I have regained some equilibrium.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 20/09/2019 13:53

My grandparents on one side were from a country that suffered greatly in ww2. The stories I grew up with about how they came for my Grandma and her family when they were just children is especially haunting me at the moment. Do I hold it against the nation of those who came for them? No. I hold it against all those who allow fascism to grown in their own hearts.

So as Francois took Johnson’s lead and had himself papped out and about in the streets of Basildon in police get up prompting a police spokesman to confirm ‘Mr Francois is not an officer’.

Do we expect to see pics of Francois paintballing in full camouflage ??? In a nod to his leader ??? Grin

Basilpots · 20/09/2019 13:59

Mr. Pan

"Francois has the sort of face I would never, ever get sick of kicking.

I'd be open to be sponsored......."

I'm afraid the sponsorship bird has long since flow. You now have to pay an application fee just to get in the queue.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/09/2019 14:15

No clue, Flouncy. Probably fewer than he actually has!

Basilpots · 20/09/2019 14:16

I know Elie. It’s almost like it’s 2017 again.

NoWordForFluffy · 20/09/2019 14:18

It's like we're doomed to go round in circles in perpetuity.

Ellie56 · 20/09/2019 14:20

It doesn't matter how many offspring BoJo the lying clown claims to have. It won't be true so why would you believe him?

They never mention it . Ever. "I mentioned it once and I think I got away with it" sort of thing. Fawlty Towers.
