When eventually this is all done and dusted do you think the UK will be in or out of the EU?

Faragist Brexity mob- not 'brevity'.

Although their rhetoric and sound bites do tend to be brief!

jasjas1973 · 13/09/2019 08:34

god help me if I will let my kids do NATO service on russian borders, because President Trump decides it

FTFY

Songsofexperience · 13/09/2019 08:36

Why stir up fear of small Dutch and Belgian forces (who incidentally have helped us escort Russia vessels away from our air and sea space) yet continue to be silently respectful towards Russia. Its illogical to me.

They're authoritarians above all else. Right wing conservatives in the US and here respect Putin as a white Christian 'strongman'.

Reallyevilmuffin · 13/09/2019 08:36

Shake it all about.

Nyx · 13/09/2019 08:39

What lonelyplanetmum said about preferring to be part of an EU military force than standing alone against Russia, USA, China or whoever fancies taking a bite of lonely old UK. I feel safer as part of the EU. I think the brexiters place a good deal too much faith in Trident and I very much resent the fact that it is here in Scotland so close to our major population centres.

fedup21 · 13/09/2019 08:39

In, I hope.

lonelyplanetmum · 13/09/2019 08:41

Right wing conservatives in the US and here respect Putin as a white Christian 'strongman'.

But that respect sure isn't mutual!

Harabek · 13/09/2019 08:44

Let's see, who should we fear, a nation (Russia) with the GDP of Italy, or a protectionist block of Socialist leaning European nations who continue to chip away at the sovereign rights of Nation States and has enveloped countries as it's moved east...

I'm just not sure...

nachosTrafficante · 13/09/2019 08:45

@Fedupcitizen

god help me if I will let my kids do EU service on russian borders, because Guy Verhofstadt decides it.

That’s bollocks. Incorrect. The UK has a veto on EU military policy so couldn’t be forced to participate in an EU army

fullfact.org/online/EU-army-conscription/

YeOldeTrout · 13/09/2019 09:09

So the myth of evil EU army has now moved to the myth of compulsory conscription to the evil EU army?

What else do you believe in? And would you like to buy a nice bridge on the East Side of New York? Wink

TheClitterati · 13/09/2019 09:21

In

lumpy76 · 13/09/2019 09:26

I think I've actually given up caring but we are emigrating to a non EU country. If we were staying I actually don't know anymore!!

maddy68 · 13/09/2019 09:32

Hopefully in

MockersthefeMANist · 13/09/2019 09:36

Shake it all about. Indefinitely.

YeOldeTrout · 13/09/2019 09:41

The A50 period is optional, as far as I could tell.
Cameron could have trigger A50 on 24.6.16 and taken UK out on the same day.
I don't recall anyone urging him to do that.
Almost all the reasons not to immediately leave on 24.6.16 still exist. Those problems haven't been fixed at all.

everywhichway · 13/09/2019 10:26

For anyone still interested in the original question, those who think think the UK will be OUT presently outnumber those who think it'll stay IN by around 4 to 1.

Quite a few shakin' it all about tho'

OP posts:
Ohflippineck · 13/09/2019 10:28

Fervently hoping for IN. Think it will be out and the nation will live with the dire consequences and regret it’s insane decision for decades.

Ohflippineck · 13/09/2019 10:29

@Fedupcitizen

god help me if I will let my kids do EU service on russian borders, because Guy Verhofstadt decides it.“

What a pile of horseshit. God help you when your kids realise that you’ve diminished their futures.

Notonthestairs · 13/09/2019 10:33

We have a VETO for any possible future European army.

52% of the electorate did not vote Leave. It was 37%.

I think we will end up out. And it will be shit and Remainers and Leavers that didn't support a Crash Out will be blamed for the lack of unicorns.

blubberyboo · 13/09/2019 11:12

There is a reason why it is called Brexit and not UKexit....because northern ireland obviously cant leave under the same terms as the rest of the UK.

The UK is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland , so if you dont have NI with you when you leave , you are left only with a country called Great Britain.

This will end with a painful shit show one way or the other for NI.

blubberyboo · 13/09/2019 11:14

Therefore i hope we stay In and i hope we get another vote

maddy68 · 13/09/2019 11:42

Ah the EU army ...the actual idea is a good one , works similarly to how it did in ww2, noone is conscripting your children , just state army's joining forces and sharing resources. Great idea. And incidentally we have the right to veto so if we didn't agree we don't have to

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 13/09/2019 13:28

The UK out; break up of the Union.
Scotland and Wales back in.
Ireland United and also in.
England, Out, Nationalist and Far right leaning.
Brain drain to Europe and other English speaking countries.

Symptomless · 13/09/2019 13:35

I don't think Wales want to be in?

MockersthefeMANist · 13/09/2019 14:01

Loving the idea of the militant militarist Dutch enforcing conscription on us all when they can't even get their own conscripts to cut their hair or obey orders without taking a vote first.
