When eventually this is all done and dusted do you think the UK will be in or out of the EU?

OP posts:
DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 12/09/2019 23:46

I haven't see M. Verhofstadt mentioning compulsory conscription being introduced EU wide. Can you show us that one?

And you still haven't acknowledged our veto...

Fedupcitizen · 12/09/2019 23:48

Interesting, but you can’t argue about the EU army now though can you? Presuming you have seen the video?

As for vetos. Well, who knows if they matter fuck all when it comes to War, I certainly don’t?

DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 12/09/2019 23:48

It does seem rather late for Moscow. I'll accept that you're just a seriously deluded member of the cult of Brexit if that makes you happier ...

Fedupcitizen · 12/09/2019 23:50

Posted too soon before preview, but my points still stand, not that long ago, I would have been laughed off mumsnet for suggesting the idea of an EU Army. Well, there it is. Don’t take my word for it, the videos cover it quite nicely.

DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 12/09/2019 23:50

Can you tell me why combining forces and purchasing power is such a bad thing?

It would save us considerable finances, and you really don't like the fact of the veto, do you...

RainbowMum11 · 12/09/2019 23:51

I am strongly remain, but the absolute farce over the last 3 years (& I've already lost my job to 'someone' on the Continent who knows all about UK law & best practise) I kind of want us to crash out, for it to be over and so the pro-Brexit people can see the results of their 'leave means leave' mentality.

Fedupcitizen · 12/09/2019 23:51

Well, unless I am hallucinating, I’m pretty sure Guy is salivating at his EU Army defence force plans there... but, it must just be the drugs.

DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 12/09/2019 23:52

By the way, have you ever heard of NATO?

DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 12/09/2019 23:54

Do you know for how many years we've been cooperating with foreign armed forces?

It's really not a new thing...

Fedupcitizen · 12/09/2019 23:55

I certainly have, I think you are asking the wrong person Doris, I’ve heard of NATO, not sure if Guy has? What need is there for an EU Army, when we have NATO. Good point actually, thanks for raising it.

Kurzgesagt · 13/09/2019 00:02

Out

Frequency · 13/09/2019 00:27

I've never understood the EU army issue. I understand it is unlikely to happen, no matter how much Macron would like it, because of the UK's veto but on the remotest of remote chances it was possible what is so bad about it? Excluding, of course, the tin foil hat theory of conscription.

If we did go to war with Russia, would it not be better to have one massive army, with cohesive training and equipment than several smaller armies with smaller budgets and therefore less training and equipment?

BunchMunch · 13/09/2019 00:33

Sincerely hope we're out but I fear we won't be.
I see there's been a new EU chief of migration whose portfolio includes protecting the European way of life.
If Trump had done something similar in America one can only imagine the righteous indignation.

Jason118 · 13/09/2019 00:35

@Fedupcitizen I love your posts up thread. Are you available for stand-up?

Frequency · 13/09/2019 00:37

Also, I think we'll be in. Brexit is undeliverable without completely fucking over the country and although a small but loud proportion of disaster capitalist MPs want to completely fuck over the country for their own gain the sane, non-sociopathic MPs seem to have a slight majority and will block any Brexit that threatens the UK's financial stability or gives us a worse deal than we have now aka all versions of Brexit. May couldn't deliver it. BoJo is now backed into a corner.

The only option left is to extend article 50 and call an election - more delays. There'll be a 2nd referendum, it'll be close. No-one will be happy. If Leave wins, Brexit will still be undeliverable. If Remains wins, Leave will riot and call for a 3rd referendum. The whole thing will keep repeating until enough leavers die that remain has a decent share of the votes. Meanwhile, the £ will plummet, business' will lose faith, pack up and fuck of to France or Germany, so, either way, we're fucked.

Fedupcitizen · 13/09/2019 00:38

No, sorry Jason. My Russian Bot, Arron Banks funded shilling schedule will just not allow it. But thanks for the offer.

Also. Drugs.

Fedupcitizen · 13/09/2019 00:40

But, the good ‘Guy’ likes to court the media, do feel free to tweet him, I reckon he would be up for it Wink.

DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 13/09/2019 00:44

I have to say that it doesn't seem like your first language is English ...

Fedupcitizen · 13/09/2019 00:48

Bahaha! Tell that to my birth certificate. Grin I really have heard it all now. BTW, I received distinctions/firsts for all of my Uni dissertations, however I fully accept that this doesn’t fit your narrative, so do crack on dear.

Also. DRUGS.

DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 13/09/2019 00:51

Yeah, yeah. I've got 20 PHDs and 5 Nobel Prizes...

Fedupcitizen · 13/09/2019 00:52

Just quickly though, say English wasn’t actually my first language, would that be a problem for you? Would that give me less relevance to this debate? Just hypothetically obviously, whilst we play this dubious cat and mouse game. Wink

DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 13/09/2019 00:52

And I'm not on DRUGS...

DorisDaysDadsDogsDead · 13/09/2019 00:54

It's just that we've come to recognise the, er, somewhat less than English terms that most of the Russians use. Also, most people who don't speak English as their first language voted Remain.

Just sayin...
