People are meeting at College Green (just down the way from Parliament Square) this evening at 5:30 (and on I guess)

Saturday 31st there is a protest outside Downing street at 12pm. See photo.

I'll add any more that I see. Feel free to do the same.

We've surpassed half a million people mark on the petition already.

To follow without clogging it up, once you've signed it go to: petitionmap.unboxedconsulting.com/?petition=269157

There's a vigil in Southampton tonight 7-8pm Guildhall Square. Bring tea lights and a placard if you have time to make one.

Quartz2208 · 28/08/2019 17:15

Stop with the more voted than not - I am certain that a high proportion of people voted for leaving WITH A DEAL. Not with no deal, a no deal that will even with the most conservative of estimates some destruction chaos and loss of life (due to medication issues)

Boris doesnt want no deal either this is a ploy to either get an election to get through his deal or get through his deal

PortiaCastis · 28/08/2019 17:17

Ok I've signed the petition so now what can I do to stop a bleddy dictator who has over ridden Parliament for his own ends the sneaky bastard. Dd and I are furious how dare he how bleddy dare he !!!!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/08/2019 17:18

Good stuff BonnesVacances

Can you join a protest on Saturday Portia?

No Deal was a dirty Remoaner Project Fear Lie. We were going to negotiate the easiest deal in history with the exact same benefits of membership.

rosie39forever · 28/08/2019 17:22

For people saying it's only 4 days it's 4and a half weeks the longest it's ever been. We no longer live in a democracy, our children will be so proud of us😢

PostNotInHaste · 28/08/2019 17:24

Thank you for starting this. I have shared the petition and am going to contact my local EU group who lay in the local coaches for the London marches to see if they are doing anything on Saturday locally. I’d like to take my 85 year old neighbour who voted Leave but is devastated by what is happening.

For anyone lurking and wondering if they should do something I am in the position if having had 2 Grandfathers who fought in the war - one British and one German. Your Grandchildren will study this week in particular in their history lessons and just as our children are set homework to interview their Grandparents about being growing up in the war, our Grandchildren will be asking us questions about this.

MissGiddyPants · 28/08/2019 17:25

Bring it on.

MillicentMartha · 28/08/2019 17:31

Signed it. Thanks, OYBBK

DameSquashalot · 28/08/2019 17:31

I will go to Downing Street on Sat. I can't make the protest today.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/08/2019 17:36

Well said Post and well signed Millicent :)

I'll see you there Dame!

Lots of singing now happening at College Green. Wish I was there, but it's not to be for me tonight.

OYBK. I'm in Cornwall and haven't heard of any marches yet but I travelled to London for the last march so I'll do it again if I have to

BubblesBubbly · 28/08/2019 17:37

No, not actually blow it up! After all Guy Fawkes didn’t achieve it.

I’m just so pissed off! We need to proper riot this, peaceful protests are a waste of time.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/08/2019 17:44

Good Portia, I know it's a long way to travel!

A list of protests is being compiled here by a lady on twitter.

Thank you!

MissGiddyPants · 28/08/2019 18:07

Comparing this with WWII is quite frankly fucking outrageous.

PostNotInHaste · 28/08/2019 18:18

I and many others do not consider it is MissGiddyPants. You are entitled to your opinions and we are entitled to ours. It is just symptomatic of how deep the divide currently is and how different people see things on different ways,

But I don’t want to derail this thread. It’s for people who voted both Leave and Remain who are deeply shocked by today’s turn of events and want to take some action to demonstrate that for themselves and on behalf of their children.

MissGiddyPants · 28/08/2019 18:21

Aye it’s a chasm.

Okbaby · 28/08/2019 18:29

It’s always in September. Everyone was expecting it. No one cancelled their conferences did they? I’m laughing at the complete overreaction. Coup? Haha absolute gold from the left

BlackeyedGruesome · 28/08/2019 18:32

I love the Nottingham description of slab square. Definitely local language there. (Relies in Notts)

Quartz2208 · 28/08/2019 18:59

Leavers and Remainers should both be should both be appalled. Leaving was in leavers eyes suppose to stand for democracy and sovereignty of Parliament - this move goes against that completely and basically goes to push through a decision NO ONE has actually sanctioned. The referendum was held with an implicit understanding that we would leave nicely and with a deal. No one voted for the concept of No deal. It was never mentioned or mooted. Therefore no deal has no democratic mandate at all.

It doesnt matter if No deal is as someone posted a remoaner project fear lie at all. It was never discussed as an option so we never voted for it.

To say its like WW2 actually confuses the issue because what it is like is a dictatorship and there is not just Hitler to compared to. At the moment a section of the Government has halted Parliament just enough to get through their agenda.

Everyone should be scared because at the moment the cost of Brexit appears to be everything leavers were trying to save.

So yes it doesnt matter what you voted in the referendum

Unescorted · 28/08/2019 19:10

In Manchester there is another protest on Saturday @ Cathedral Sq from 12noon.

Also on 29th September, to coincide with the tory Party conference is Cirque de Resistance

woman19 · 28/08/2019 19:23
