In the US, the right has been very negative about US football players "taking the knee" - that is going down on one knee when the US national anthem is played (as it is at all sporting events) in protest at the treatment of black Americans by law enforcement.
Imagine what they would say if they turned their backs.
Yes, I accept that the national anthem is not the same as the European Parliament anthem. But it is still rude and disrespectful of people to spit on the gravy train after they have suckled from it.

It's worth juxtaposing those two pictures. Yes Brexit Party supporters I hope you are proud of yourselves in choosing your role models. Especially when you talk about patriotism and fighting the Germans in WW2.

While you can argue the merits or otherwise of tradition and respect in other countries I can almost feel nails being banged into the coffins of future trade deals with some countries over this.

There were as many non Faragist/Brexit MEPs elected who didn't let the side down and the other countries MEPs will have noticed this.

I’m utterly embarrassed and ashamed that people are representing our country.

FFS if you ever find yourself turning your back when the Ode to Joy is playing surely you must see how utterly wrong you are.

In a way this is a better photo because it shows that the Brexit party bolloxed things up and ended up sitting at the back. It's a more effective protest if you are at the front.

Shame the Express didn’t highlight more of the Brexit Party’s parallels with the Nazis, they are more offended by a swear word.

I am not 'sad that it's come to this' I am delighted that there are people willing to stand up for those who don't want to see their country trashed. I am happy to put up pictures of MEPs from a party which has always supported Europe and whose MEPs will take their seats and work to do the job they were elected for.

Unlike Farage's mob. I look forward to them turning their backs on their salaries and pensions.

A lot of the other UK people are sitting down instead of standing up. Are they the Tories? Not impressed by that either.
