Westminstenders: Brace Yourself It's Gonna BeBoris

It seems inconceivable that Hunt can beat Johnson. And whilst we are all considering the horrors that Prime Johnson can bring...

Let's not forget Brexit, whats Brexit?

Already there is talk that Boris has gone soft on 31st Oct as an absolute. But he's also promised the earth to the ERG.

So what suits Boris best?

What does his ego demand?

What does Boris want his legacy to be?

Our fate rests on Boris's whims and personal desires.

And if you are Scottish, Muslim or otherwise not rich, white and male you might have reason to be concerned.

All those newspaper headlines are going to do is make Boris fans love him even more 'left wing liberal remain media picking on Boris' (even when it's the sun and the mail Hmm). They won't even stop to wonder if maybe all those headlines demonising Corbyn, the EU, immigrants and benefits claimants were similar put up jobs - because cognitive dissonance is where the brexiteers live.

I even wonder if it's deliberate.

BigChocFrenzy · 22/06/2019 23:13

Christ, I've just seen weather forecast is 40C next week ( my area of Germany)

40 C in June !

I hope Greenpeace have a lot more protests planned

BigChocFrenzy · 22/06/2019 23:14

Well, that poll suggests there are plenty who are not committed BJ fans

woman19 · 22/06/2019 23:17

I do wonder whether BJ is going to fuck it up for himself

Nope. All going completely to plan.

Those type ( Bannon/ Johnson/ Field)
murder 2 of us a week of course.

And their handmaids like our little orange lodge friend enable this.

Where there's 'male' violence there's votes.

agent orange proves that.

His bosses are liking this one.

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jun/22/video-reveals-steve-bannon-links-to-boris-johnson

Johnson is there to ensure that no-one looks too deeply into Hunt's past record and spoils the party

He's the fluffer.

Any fool nation which tolerates him, deserves what comes next.

BigChocFrenzy · 22/06/2019 23:38

What would a Boris Johnson cabinet look like?

Even worse than the current one
but Hunt would probably be as bad

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/jun/22/what-would-a-boris-johnson-cabinet-look-like

Back again:
Williamson (but not to anywhere security-rated)
Patel
Raab (returning to DexEU ?)

Staying:
Gove, Javid, Rudd, Hancock, Cox ....

Out:
chancellor, Philip Hammond !

business secretary, Greg Clark,
international development secretary, Rory Stewart
justice secretary, David Gauke

Basilpots · 22/06/2019 23:47

Question is will someone please put Grayling out of his misery before he wastes anymore money please.

woman19 · 23/06/2019 00:06

What would a Boris Johnson cabinet look like?

Gross.

They are an ugly bunch.

Hence, the brexit.

Icantreachthepretzels · 23/06/2019 00:07

Out:
chancellor, Philip Hammond !

business secretary, Greg Clark,
international development secretary, Rory Stewart
justice secretary, David Gauke

All the more rebels to vote against you, my dear! Numbers wise, he can't afford to kick remainers out of cabinet who have been loyal up until now. Though I don't imagine he's intelligent enough to realise that himself.

Well, that poll suggests there are plenty who are not committed BJ fans
But they show a larger proportion of tory voters are sticking with him than deserting him. And their support will be hardening. He doesn't have to win well - as the referendum result shows. He only needs to get over the line. It doesn't matter one iota what anyone who isn't a tory member thinks of him.

Moanranger · 23/06/2019 00:17

howabout no fantasies here Re wealth of Johnson. No inherited wealth, large family (Stanley & first wife.) Johnson Sr had to sing for his supper. The family compound in the West Country is hardly Sandringham. Yes, Boris on a fair whack, earnings-wise, but Marina would be the real breadwinner.
Wealth of Boris & Marina tied up in the divorce. Why did he not rent a pied a terre? I still suspect cock-lodging.

jessicawessica · 23/06/2019 00:50

Whoever wins please, please, please get rid of Hammond.

StripeyChina · 23/06/2019 00:52

Found you. PMK

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 23/06/2019 06:15

Johnson is there to ensure that no-one looks too deeply into Hunt's past record and spoils the party

So is the real plan to have Hunt as pm?

NoWordForFluffy · 23/06/2019 06:36

Gross.

They are an ugly bunch.

Hence, the brexit.

What does that mean? Maybe I've not had enough sleep, but I think I'm missing its point.

lonelyplanetmum · 23/06/2019 06:51

There are a number of open petitions about a General election.

Shouldn't we be signing some of them?

petition.parliament.uk/petitionsutf8=✓&q=general+election&state=open&commit=Search

LonelyTiredandLow · 23/06/2019 07:46

Further info on Boris' links to Bannnon in this video which also shows how they used Boris to hurt TM. We all knew where he got his funding (or suspected at least) but how do the Tories still believe they get to pick their own? I think this shows what Boris' speeches will be like once we No Deal; Bannon gearing up for a serious smear against EU to further The Movement of his.

LonelyTiredandLow · 23/06/2019 07:49

@lonely I am feeling disenfranchised about petitions; the last 3 I signed came back with near identical wording from DeXEU. I'm also not convinced the public wouldn't just vote for Boris as the joker in the pack, no publicity is bad publicity as they say and the Tory party seems to have increased their % this week according to YouGov pol posted upthread.

Boris Johnson says it’s “a lefty delusion” that he took advice from Steve Bannon.....but here’s what Trump's former chief strategist says about their contacts around the time of his resignation as foreign secretary.

Boris Johnson's furious partner Carrie Symonds brands cop call a 'stitch-up' by leftie, anti-Brexit neighbour

Your new favourite trope

"leftie delusion"

Also see "leftie stitch up", "leftie conspiracy" and "leftie smear"

To clarify "leftie" refers to anyone who isn't a Johnson supporter and thinks Johnson should be scrutinised. This includes anyone from Jeremy Hunt to Rory Stewart and yes some actual "lefties" too, who do actually have the right to demand accountability not that you'd think from comments like this.

We are all "lefties" now, if you don't worship Johnson without question.

When are the grown ups going to come and tell this lot to wash their hands and get ready for tea?

PigeonofDoom · 23/06/2019 08:09

Maybe the record temperatures might make Germany think twice about getting rid of all their nuclear power plants, BigChoc. IMO, it was insanely short sighted to propose this when it involved ramping up the use of coal power to replace it.

LonelyTiredandLow · 23/06/2019 08:23

Good article about BJ being teflon-esque from The Guardian Blond leading the Bland.

1tisILeClerc · 23/06/2019 08:35

PigeonofDoom
That is certainly an interesting thought. The problem is global though, as you are probably aware and it needs a global strategy, which is not helped by the rate at which China is throwing up new coal powered stations and the USA and Australia are at least continuing.
While many appliances and lights are getting more efficient it is peoples desires for air conditioning in a world that is getting warmer that is an increasing problem. More innovative building design is necessary to reduce electricity consumption for air cooling. Radiators used in 'reverse' perhaps where cool water is used to lower room temperature. Even the more widespread adoption of 'siestas' where people don't work in the hottest couple of hours in a day. It is all too easy to nail an electrically powered air conditioner to a wall, but innovative solutions, or even modern reworking of old ideas from the tropics adapted to the building styles elsewhere should be encouraged.

Carpediem1 · 23/06/2019 09:17

A deviation from "Brace yourself, it's going to be Boris" and a bit lost amongst the coverage of the Brexit/Tory leadership horror show, but did you see that the money raised from the sale of David Gilmore's guitars is going to Client Earth to mount legal challenges to proposals for new coal fired power stations www.clientearth.org/topic/all-articles/

woman19 · 23/06/2019 09:24

Those ugly incels have been working on this for years.

Boris Johnson's furious partner Carrie Symonds brands cop call a 'stitch-up' by leftie, anti-Brexit neighbour
That quote sounds more like the words of a domestic abuse hostage.
Like we all will be under his premiership and the brexit.

lonelyplanetmum · 23/06/2019 09:33

...advice from Steve Bannon...here’s what Trump's former chief strategist says about their contacts around the time of his resignation as foreign secretary

It's 100% clear that US money from the Mercers was pumped into the Leave campaign involving the use of Cambridge Analytica etc.Now it appears the US interference extends to advice and input on the detail politician's speeches?

As well as Trump coming here and having private meetings with chosen far right Tories.

Just imagine if Macron did this, if his chief strategist was collaborating and texting over the content of a senior politician's speeches.

Why is US interference not perceived as a threat to our control?
