Westminstenders: Brace Yourself It's Gonna BeBoris

It seems inconceivable that Hunt can beat Johnson. And whilst we are all considering the horrors that Prime Johnson can bring...

Let's not forget Brexit, whats Brexit?

Already there is talk that Boris has gone soft on 31st Oct as an absolute. But he's also promised the earth to the ERG.

So what suits Boris best?

What does his ego demand?

What does Boris want his legacy to be?

Our fate rests on Boris's whims and personal desires.

And if you are Scottish, Muslim or otherwise not rich, white and male you might have reason to be concerned.

To most Tories and leavers he can do no wrong.

I agree that in normal times the only person that will defeat him is boris Johnson but...we are not living in normal times.

ContinuityError · 21/06/2019 20:51

A neighbour told the Guardian they heard a woman screaming followed by “slamming and banging”. At one point Symonds could be heard telling Johnson to “get off me” and “get out of my flat”.

DH reckons he’s shagging someone else.

Iambuffy · 21/06/2019 20:53

Who ARE all these women who actively want to give BJ...um...BJs??

TatianaLarina · 21/06/2019 20:53

No, she made irretrievable mistake early on, when she didn't know enough

It was not a ‘mistake’. A mistake is slipping on a banana skin, not intentionally, against the advice of some of her closest advisors, such as Gavin Barwell, directing the country into hard Brexit. She was in thrall to her 2 hard Brexit advisors - because she is basically weak and underpowered intellectually.

It’s her job to know enough to make informed, intelligent decisions for the country’s future. If she does not know enough she should resign.

1tisILeClerc · 21/06/2019 20:59

{No, she made irretrievable mistake early on, when she didn't know enough}

It was deliberate. Not only were the 'figures' people in the UK (Carney, Osborne, Hammond) saying it would be incredibly damaging, but the reactions from Japan, EU, and so many others who although are 'rivals' are also interested in sustainable business relationships, not the smash and grab of disaster capitalism.
While international business might like to shave a fraction of a percent off here and there, killing the market does not achieve long term stability.

BigChocFrenzy · 21/06/2019 20:59

If BJ still gets in, we'll look back fondly on May

1tisILeClerc · 21/06/2019 21:01

The fact that the EU have effectively been asking 'do you REALLY want to go through with this is yet another pointer.

BigChocFrenzy · 21/06/2019 21:01

She only believed her 2 poisonous SPADs, until she sacked them too late

Iambuffy · 21/06/2019 21:01

She did know.
The ERG know.
Farage and his scotum faced financers know.

That was her, and their worst crime.

They know.

They don't care

RedToothBrush · 21/06/2019 21:03

Kay Burley @kayburley
All set to chair #Toryleadershipdebate on @SkyNews next Tuesday. @Jeremy_Hunt agreed to take part but @BorisJohnson has said no. Really? 🤷‍♀️

The set’s built, the Tory supporting audience primed.

Are you really going to let them and YOUR country down, Boris?

If BJ still gets in, we'll look back fondly on May

But still doesn’t mean she’s not the worst PM we’ve had so far.

It’s just we’re the slippiest ever slope of dreadful PM’s.

Anyway - by hook or by crook BJ is going to get out of this.

BigChocFrenzy · 21/06/2019 21:03

Politicians used to know important stuff

Now they get to Parliament knowing only how to get elected

and they mostly don't bother to learn anything new

BigChocFrenzy · 21/06/2019 21:06

Is BJ really too chicken to debate Hunt on Sky ?
(or too lazy)

Not going to do well as PM, is he
Going to spend a lot of time running away from all the world leaders

Outsomnia · 21/06/2019 21:09

The altercation in the flat he shared with his partner was leaked by Johnson. Staged if you will.

His out is being prepared. He knows what is ahead of him.

Well he is supposed to be supremely intelligent isn't he? Think about it.

RedToothBrush · 21/06/2019 21:11

Shehab Khan @ shehabkhan
EXC: The Conservative Muslim chief has been expelled from the Tory Muslim group. Mohammed Amin tells me he has been expelled following an intervention by CCHQ because he criticised the 'moral integrity' of Boris Johnson:
www.itv.com/news/2019-06-21/conservative-muslim-chair-says-he-was-expelled-from-group-for-questioning-boris-johnsons-moral-fitness/

Amin alleges that CCHQ and Brandon Lewis personally intervened because of his comments and pressure was applied to have him removed.

I put these allegations to CCHQ. They did not respond.

Meanwhile everyone reading or watching the story about Johnson domestic, are questioning his moral integrity...

This guy did compare Johnson to Hitler, but otherwise I think if you to take this to court, the Conservatives would have fun proving that the claim that Johnson did have moral integrity...

OP posts:
bellinisurge · 21/06/2019 21:14

I'd love it if that this altercation thing is a set up by Johnson to get out of having to actually do this. As long as he pisses off, I don't care.

yolofish · 21/06/2019 21:15

I think I said a while ago that Johnson would find a way to weasel out, that he didnt really want the job (knowing what a poisoned chalice it is)... but this is a pretty unattractive way to do it. No suprise there then.

Peregrina · 21/06/2019 21:16

She only believed her 2 poisonous SPADs, until she sacked them too late

When they had helped her lose the election. If they had won she would have carried on using them.

Bearbehind · 21/06/2019 21:22

I genuinely cannot comprehend how any Remainer can make excuses for TM.

She was despicable.

BigChocFrenzy · 21/06/2019 21:27

She was despicable, but nowhere near as bad as Cameron

If she hadn't invoked A50, she*d just have been toppled much earlier and an ERG man would have Brexited us

Outsomnia · 21/06/2019 21:30

Bearbehind,

We have no other to compare her to regarding Brexit. I never liked her at all, but compared with the potential incumbent I think she will be seen as a saint in time.

So what about the palaver in Johnson's flat and the smashing of plates. He is probably related to Phil the Greek now. Greeks like smashing plates don't they? He seems to be related to many a culture/country/race now. As it suits him.

Gawd Almighty, bet he wants out and is trying to get out. But whatever.

Bearbehind · 21/06/2019 21:31

I totally disagree, she was way worse than Cameron.

He made the wrong call but never thought Leave would win.

She knew she was taking on the role of having to deliver Brexit yet she lied from day 1 and promised Leavers the unicorns they craved.

If she’d been more collaborative and acknowledged how close the vote was from the beginning we would not be in the mess we are now.

BigChocFrenzy · 21/06/2019 21:31

btw, Tory MP Chris Davies was recalled after nearly 20% of eligible voters signed the recall petition.

Nearly double the 10% required

That's 20% of eligible voters - the Tories will struggle to hold that seat in the by-election, which is only weeks away

1tisILeClerc · 21/06/2019 21:35

{I genuinely cannot comprehend how any Remainer can make excuses for TM.
She was despicable.}

Dancing about in cornfields crushing the corn that could have been used to feed a poor starving child. Wasting precious resources.
Mind you, umpteen pointless trips to Brussels when either the phone or even a post-it on the No 10 Fridge with the message 'No new negotiations for the WA' would have done.

TokyoSushi · 21/06/2019 21:38

Who was it who said 'The only person who can stop Boris Johnson... is Boris Johnson'
