Ian Dunt @iandunt
Really. I don't even want to imagine how many political panel discussions I've seen in my life. That must have been the worst.

OublietteBravo · 18/06/2019 21:05

So by joining the LibDems he’d complete the set then.

Basilpots · 18/06/2019 21:06

Oubliette Anna Soubry and Steve Baker have both said they were Lib Dem’s before.

Bearbehind · 18/06/2019 21:07

Boris saying he doesn't think labour want a GE right now - has he met Jeremy Corbyn? That's all he bangs on about

Corbyn would shit himself if there was a GE as, if by some miracle, he’d have to deal with he shit show that is Brexit.

It’s just his standard response to everything, he doesn’t actually mean it.

RedToothBrush · 18/06/2019 21:07

Barely any comments past this

Tim Dawson @ timrdawson
That was shit. Dreadful format, awful questions.
The highlight was Rory Stewart's tie miraculously disappearing. But, yeah.. very poor. #BBCOurNextPM

Personally I think this a little unfair. The questions were good. And the members of the public were the best thing on.

I feel like I have learnt nothing and no one did themselves any favours.

Jay Rayner just tweeted: "Oh God, if we get the politicians we deserve, what shameless, dreadful thing have we done?"

Well 17.4 million of us voted for brexit. So I know what they did. This is the natural consequence of demanding the impossible and threatening violence when you don't get it.

Peregrina · 18/06/2019 21:08

How many votes do they have to get in the next round?

Coppersulphate · 18/06/2019 21:09

I have a vote and it is fir Gove and if he doesn't get through then Boris . My DD also has a vote and is the same.

RedToothBrush · 18/06/2019 21:09

Ladbrokes Politics @ladpolitics
Main conclusion of the betting markets is that Rory Stewart hasn't helped his chances tonight #BBCOurNextPM

OP posts:
Violetparis · 18/06/2019 21:09

That was awful and Emily Maitliss was a dreadful host.

longwayoff · 18/06/2019 21:11

No wonder they've kept BJ under wraps, he has nothing whatsoever to say. Poor show all round. Look forward to him as PM, that'll be fun.

Iggly · 18/06/2019 21:11

Boris for prime minister?

What? That racist clown who has blundered and lied. He’s the worst, worst embodiment of a politician and is everything that is wrong with politics.

Why would anyone vote for him?

boatyardblues · 18/06/2019 21:12

Ladbrokes are missing the point. Rory is placing a stake in the ground.

Jsmith99 · 18/06/2019 21:13

That was a total fucking shambles. The only people who come out of it with ny credit at all were the people asking sensible, relevant questions. Boris forgetting Abdullah’s name was absolutely excruciating. He wouldn’t have forgotten the name of a bloke called Dave, would he?

Jumblejim · 18/06/2019 21:13

I can’t believe we are actually going to end up with Johnson as PM. What hope it there for the country? I get the impression it’s all I’ve big game to him.

RedToothBrush · 18/06/2019 21:14

George Eaton @georgeeaton
The biggest story from the debate is surely Sajid Javid bouncing all candidates into an independent investigation on Islamophobia. #BBCOurNextPM

The tie. Everyone is still talking about the tie.

OP posts:
boatyardblues · 18/06/2019 21:14

If only the Imam had the same name as Bozzer’s great-great grandfather, he might have remembered. Bad luck Abdullah.

OublietteBravo · 18/06/2019 21:15

The bin at the weekend, and the tie tonight. People are talking about Rory. Whereas a month ago he was nobody.

Peregrina · 18/06/2019 21:15

Was this made worse because Boris was in attendance? Would there have been more debate without him? As it was, it just became a willy waving contest.

RedToothBrush · 18/06/2019 21:16

Henry Zeffman @hzeffman
Wow. Amazing work from Sajid Javid, bouncing every candidate into backing an independent investigation into Islamophobia in the Conservative Party

Sebastian Payne @SebastianePayne
This was probably the only revealing moment of the debate

OP posts:
borntobequiet · 18/06/2019 21:17

Anything is made worse by having BJ in attendance. The ineptitude and chaos that surround him are contagious.

RedToothBrush · 18/06/2019 21:17

Was this made worse because Boris was in attendance? Would there have been more debate without him?

Honestly?
No.

The lack of audience was the problem. This meant they all shouted at each other rather than try to talk to the room.

OP posts:
NeedAUsernameGenerator · 18/06/2019 21:18

I'd vote for Gove if I had a vote. Don't know what kind of bubble Jeremy Hunt is living in that he thinks he can eradicate illiteracy.

OublietteBravo · 18/06/2019 21:19

Was this made worse because Boris was in attendance? Would there have been more debate without him?

It was worse than the previous debate. And I hardly think the reason was the lack of Raab’s sparkling wit I think they tried to cram too many questions into an hour.

tobee · 18/06/2019 21:21

Bit late to the party but ds said it reminded him more of this:-
