If anyone says they know what will happen this week....

... They don't.

They must have bowed to pressure from NI farmers and business leaders - hard Brexit or No Deal would probably wipe out the NI economy.

icannotremember · 26/03/2019 13:27

I got Revoke. Not surprised at all.

BiglyBadgers · 26/03/2019 13:28

I think even if she gets the ERG to support it won't be enough. The Letwin amendment will have empowered remain MPs into thinking they can get a softer brexit or PV and I suspect there will still be hardliner brexiteers and the DUP who won't take the bait and vote for it.

TokyoSushi · 26/03/2019 13:28

Revoke here too!

67chevvyimpala · 26/03/2019 13:28

Fucking hell....not gove!

TatianaLarina · 26/03/2019 13:29

DUP now consider long extension preferable to No Deal

NoWordForFluffy · 26/03/2019 13:30

It's not up to the ERG who goes for the leadership though as there may be a non-hardliner who wants to stand (and hopefully win!).

I also want revoke. I chose Bratwurst if that means anything! 😂 Maybe blaming Ariana Grande is the way forward!

ContinuityError · 26/03/2019 13:31

I think because I picked both pizza and Alastair Campbell.

Me too.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 26/03/2019 13:32

I picked pizza and campbell as well

Camomila · 26/03/2019 13:32

I got revoke.

I'd prefer a PV followed by remain, less potential for civil upheaval IMO.

I think also the DUP are worried about the break up of the union with no deal. I imagine the EU would welcome in an independent Scotland straight away.

ContinuityError · 26/03/2019 13:34

DUP saying they prefer a long extension plus a new PM?

BiglyBadgers · 26/03/2019 13:34

Maybe blaming Ariana Grande is the way forward!

It seems a bit harsh but maybe if everyone would agree revoke and save face by blaming the whole mess on Ariana Grande she would be prepared to take one for the team.

OublietteBravo · 26/03/2019 13:35

I got PV. I’d prefer revoke - greater certainty more quickly.

DarlingNikita · 26/03/2019 13:35

I got PV. I picked waffles, Merkel, Soubry and Ariana Grande said 'how come they get three votes and the public only get one?', if any of that is germane Grin

In actual fact I want the whole fucking thing called off and buried deep.

Sostenueto · 26/03/2019 13:36

I got revoke too!

NoWordForFluffy · 26/03/2019 13:37

I still think revoke and never mention it again would actually be what many people would be glad of!

DGRossetti · 26/03/2019 13:37

It's not up to the ERG who goes for the leadership though as there may be a non-hardliner who wants to stand (and hopefully win!).

Which is why the new position of "interim" Prime Minister suddenly appeared from nowhere (and hopefully has now returned to the gloom).

The idea being to have a disposable Tory PM to act as a scapegoat and pick up all the bad shit over whatever dogs breakfast brexit we get. Then you can have an anointing of the One True Leader to lead us to unicorniopia.

woman19 · 26/03/2019 13:43

@JohnRentoul
Funniest and best outcome of indicative votes would be if PM's deal came top by miles. Could easily happen

depends on your sense of humour, I suppose

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/03/2019 13:45

WTF, I got Norway Plus Blush Angry

Sostenueto · 26/03/2019 13:49

Sooooo the SI is being presented tomorrow. Less time for indicative votes then.........

woman19 · 26/03/2019 13:49

If, WA passing + PV to ratify/ remain gains traction, then..........

But, ERG/May/ KKK crew have no intention of honouring the WA even if it is passed, so........

In order to save the EU from further fascist contagion from the UK, Norway/ Common Market thingy might be the honourable thing for us to aim at.

What a pickle.

woman19 · 26/03/2019 13:53

But thanks again to Westminstenders marchers, petitioners, email writers, campaigners this week. You've changed the mood.

@IanDunt
This is why it is so redundant to say that petitions, marches etc don't matter. They don't have a direct effect on policy. But the mood music they provide can create change.

LarkDescending · 26/03/2019 13:54

I got PV (to be fair I have marched for it more than once) but am really a Revoker.

HazardGhost · 26/03/2019 13:55

I got revoke.

I pick pizza Grin

BigChocFrenzy · 26/03/2019 13:55

DG International law trumps anything the HoC passes
A50 states that the UK exits at the end of 2 years, or at the end of an agreed extension

It does not require the process to be compliant with the Uk constitution

So, we'll exit with No Deal on 12 April if the HoC has not approved the WA and if the Govt doesn't have a feasible alternative plan

  • the EU may well demand that the HoC approve the plan first, to save wasting more time on something that they won't pass later

If by 12 April the HoC has not passed the legislation to hold EP elections,
then regardless of any HoC plan, the UK will exit on midnight 22 / 23 May

What we should all have learned by now is that although the EU want us to Remain, they will not risk their Single Market, or the integrity of their institutions, such as the EP
