How the hell is Hoey a Labour MP?! And for a heavily remain voting constituency? Did she get confused somewhere? Or perhaps she just prefers the colour red?

It was just the amendment they passed, this is the proper motion.

Hoey's been there a long time. If she's the Labour candidate and it's a big Labour constituency you're gonna vote for her.

It is hard to kick out an MP but not impossible.

They have to committed specific misdemeanours: have been convicted of an offence with a custodial sentence or found to have committed expenses fraud () or been banned from parliament for more than 10 working days.

In such cases a recall petition can be set up and if 10% of the electorate sign it (which they have to do in person) within 6 weeks then they can be recalled.

The one that failed was about recalling the house if the country was 7 days away from No Deal. I assume it didn't pass because people are fuckers.

Hoey's majority is smaller than the number of people in her constituency who have signed the Revoke Article 50 petition.

She could be toast.

I don't know why Hoey herself runs for Labour. It's weird. She's a Unionist through and through.

Hoey had a VONC in the summer - her constituency isn’t far from me. She won’t get re-elected.

There's a recall petition that is underway (started last week) for Fiona Onasanya. There are 6 places in her constituency where people can sign it.

Gareth Snell abstained.

Trouble is, Hoey is in her 70s so will probably stand down at next election rather than be voted out or deselected.

I think Beckett's amendment only just failed because a few too many MPs saw it as more of the dreaded kicking the can down the road.

The Letwin amendment was the really significant one for Parliament.

Personally, I'm all for holding ejections for the EU Parliament. That doesn't bother me at all.

It's better news than if it had been defeated. Its a chink of light in the darkness. BUT Parliament is still filled with the same useless, contrary fuckers that have failed to do anything useful so far - or who ave actively voted against anything useful ... so it doesn't mean this will result in them actually finding a way through the deadlock.

And even if they do ... our tinpot dictator will only ignore them anyway and do whatever the fuck she wants because, well ... dictator.

Hence the muted celebrations.
