Sorry Alan Bennett . Now I feel ashamed.

Sostenueto · 25/03/2019 22:03

Will Harrington resignation open floodgates? Goodness I hope so! Fingers crossed it gets through. I know my MP will vote against cos he's a wimp and he likes his cushy job.

BiglyBadgers · 25/03/2019 22:03

So Corbyn has dropped his amendment it seems and we are straight to Letwin.

wherearemychickens · 25/03/2019 22:03

So do we want the Ayes to have it here - that will mean that Letwin has passed? I get confused with the ayes & noes.

tobee · 25/03/2019 22:04

Lol Singing

BestIsWest · 25/03/2019 22:04

I’d love to spend the weekend with Alan Bennett. We’d spend it wandering round old churches and eatin cream teas in country gardens whilst he namedropped and gossiped in my ear.

Ooh. I never realised that was a fantasy of mine until now.

Cuddlysnowleopard · 25/03/2019 22:04

Harrington is local to me, although not my MP. Twitter very excited by his resignation.

Sostenueto · 25/03/2019 22:05

Gosh labour pulled theirs!

GeistohneGrenzen · 25/03/2019 22:05

wherearemychickens yep - 25% hazelnuts as I remember. Find and enjoy!

GD12 · 25/03/2019 22:06

Seems Alistair Burts resigned too, voting in Aye lobby.

GD12 · 25/03/2019 22:07

Labour's ammnd wouldn't have passed, no point in putting it forward.

GaspodeWonderCat · 25/03/2019 22:08

wherearemychickens think it is the 'ayes' as then in favour of the amendment. I lose the will to live deciding when it is a double negative vote though ...

TiddleTaddleTat · 25/03/2019 22:08

Pmk

nuttynutjob · 25/03/2019 22:08

OMG PMK

I can't catch up.

AutumnCrow · 25/03/2019 22:08

wherearemychickens yes the Ayes will be voting for Amendment A.

GD12 · 25/03/2019 22:09

Passing this doesn't really matter anyway, May has said she won't honour it.

AutumnCrow · 25/03/2019 22:09

I find this bit bizarrely suspenseful

BiglyBadgers · 25/03/2019 22:11

Peston thinks Alistair Burt is going to vote for Letwin and resign as well.

prettybird · 25/03/2019 22:13

I've just finished off the comfort ice cream I made at the weekend ( not very MN HFLC BootCamp Blush). My mum's mum's recipe: a Lidl carton of double double cream, half a cup of milk, whipped softly and then a tin of condensed milk, an egg and a teaspoon of vanilla essence whipped in and then softly frozen and then whipped up again and then frozen. Dead easy and very delicious (doesn't work in an ice cream maker). Homemade chocolate sauce of table spoons each of syrup, butter and cocoa, cup of each of milk and sugar, boiled together in a decent sized pan until "the bubbles change" (about 6 minutes) so that it semi hardens on contact with the ice cream.

Required comfort in these uncertain times Grin

BiglyBadgers · 25/03/2019 22:13

Passing this doesn't really matter anyway, May has said she won't honour it.

She has said she won't honour the votes but the votes will happen. This means parliament will have made a decision (maybe...) and will have a direction to push in. It's a step along the road to breaking the deadlock. If it doesn't pass than nothing can happen.

tobee · 25/03/2019 22:13
