Still rising now 5,142,516

TheresWaldo · 24/03/2019 18:24

It still seems to be moving remarkably quickly!

IceRebel · 24/03/2019 18:59

It still seems to be moving remarkably quickly!

Agreed, it's at 5,172,306 signatures now, and the petitions site seems to be updating every 30 seconds or so.

woman19 · 24/03/2019 19:05

Excellent resource for local group planning.

We can see in real time how constituencies are moving to revoke.

Anyone else using it as a clock?

Bedtime will be at 6million and waking up time will be 6.5million, or more . Approximately............ Grin

IceRebel · 24/03/2019 19:08

Bedtime will be at 6million

Eeek I reckon you're in for a long night / day, I can't see it reaching 6 million until about 9am tomorrow morning. Grin

ADarkandStormyKnight · 24/03/2019 19:18

I reckon most of the keenos will have already signed by tonight, Monday. A few more people will add their names as the govenment lurches through more disasters next week. But what an effort! Truly extraordinary.

prettybird · 24/03/2019 19:25

This tracker docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rgpDCb5Hsm2XGagN69TXpM-LW8A0gwD4xrozYgBjKDw/edit#gid=1156766096 suggests that it will be tomorrow afternoon that it will hit 6 million. It is (understandably) slowing down: it's calculating now that it will hit 17.4 million Grin on 14 April, whereas earlier today it was saying 13 April.

keepforgettingmyusername · 24/03/2019 19:50

I would desperately love it to hit 6 million by 9am tomorrow. The Government will have to consider its response soon, tomorrow probably. The greater the number when they do, the better.

borntobequiet · 24/03/2019 20:23

2 million marching. I know at least 10 people who would have liked to come but couldn’t. If I’m typical and could get all those to sign...

Apileofballyhoo · 24/03/2019 21:55

What's weird is, apart from the really high numbers are the top, when you get to around 10 thousand, it seems to make no difference whether the area was leave or remain. What does this mean I wonder?

As in relatively strong remain areas (55%) don't have a higher no of signers than leave areas.

Not sure. Another apparent anomaly is some of the Scottish constituencies which were Remain have low numbers on the petition. Maybe (to some extent, at least) its to do with how social networks work?

KennDodd · 24/03/2019 22:15

5.27 million. If each of those people could get three other people to sign we would be more than there. I might send some emails with the link.

BlackeyedGruesome · 24/03/2019 22:52

I will check whether my friend has signed and see if her eh and son will sign. I may ask DD if she wants to.

KennDodd · 24/03/2019 22:53

Yes don't forget teens can sign if they want, they can sign and pass it on to their friends.

OwlOfBrown · 24/03/2019 23:00

Quick question if anyone knows - when it works out how many people voted in each constituency, is it using the postcode I entered to determine that, or my location when I signed?

I hope it all means that there are millions more people ready to sign.

What I really want to see is high numbers in Leave areas.

woman19 · 24/03/2019 23:06

Good point.
Operation #annoyrelativesinSunderland activated.

It's nearly 5.3million o'clock, I'll call it a day.Wink

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 24/03/2019 23:08

I wonder how many people have "signed" but not realised that they need to verify their email address for their vote to be registered?

woman19 · 24/03/2019 23:20

pro-Brexit Labour MP Kate Hoey’s Vauxhall constituency, 25 per cent of voters have signed the petition
So far............ Wink

Over 5 million in U.K. constituencies now
5,305,289 (5,001,186 for UK constituencies; 94%)

Apileofballyhoo · 25/03/2019 00:08

Owl, I'd say it's your postcode.

Apileofballyhoo · 25/03/2019 00:10

I wonder how many people have "signed" but not realised that they need to verify their email address for their vote to be registered? Does it not make it clear?
