Just wrote an intro and wiped it. So this is as quick as I can sum up.

EU response is extension to 22nd May if May passes her deal by 29th March

Or an unconditional extension to 12 April which could be extended with a plan and understanding to take part in EU elections.

This isn't what may wanted. It gives her less time and leverage

It opens up the possibility of her being ousted as PM in the next couple of days. Graham Brady asked her to quit on Monday. Remain Cabinet ministers are threatening to quit if May whips a vote to support no deal.

The talk is May has indeed flipped to supporting no deal with many think she's pretty much gone full on Colonel Kurtz.

The EU are in effect supporting parliamentary sovereignty and are being incredibly reasonable.

May now has to decide whether to accept.

The whole situation looks explosive and likely that one half of the cabinet or the other are on the brink of walking. And May's power is so shattered.

However she remains the gatekeeper and as it stands if she's hell bent on no deal, it will be extremely difficult for Parliament to prevent that.

Today's government notices are now saying 11 April as the 'no deal' day.
Not that we didn't know that.
12th being the day the UK would be out of course.

Camomila · 22/03/2019 18:39

I’ve been getting ‘virgin media’ pop ups all afternoon....from an address that starts with ‘eu’ in the address bar. I just assumed it was your run of the mill scam rather than a special brexit thing!

I’ll be getting my dad (works in IT) to sort out all my security settings tomorrow!

woodpigeons · 22/03/2019 18:40

And they all have a different domain name although they all start with eu. and end with card.world
For example eu.bnijcbpreciouscard.world

Random18 · 22/03/2019 18:46

I’ve just cleared my cookies again and so far so good - not been long though.

My logic is that MN said it should be fixed by 6pm. But it may be that you have to clear cookies to get it to work.

No doubt i’ll Be back in a min with problem again...........

WhatWouldScoobyDoo · 22/03/2019 18:47

babooshka me too, apparently from BT and only started today Confused

BCF thanks for the settings info, I have changed them now.

Brexshitfuuuuuuuck · 22/03/2019 18:49

Who are the people messing with the traffic? Are they going to March or to prevent the March?

HepzibahHumbug · 22/03/2019 18:50

Twitter drives me crazy!! Can't use it: too impatient.
But at least now we know Go Slow is a thing. Plan accordingly marchers.

Police stop brexit protest in Cornwall

BigChocFrenzy · 22/03/2019 18:54

That sounds like an infestation

I suggest if it continues you do Settings ==> Safari ==> Clear History
and then REBOOT

StealthPolarBear · 22/03/2019 18:54

I am worried about violence. Not personally but in general.

BercowsSilkTie · 22/03/2019 18:55

67chevvyimpala · 22/03/2019 18:57

Well, I'm in a temper.

I'm doing my placard and have got acrylic paint on the rug. Ffs.

And it turns out I can't paint stars...

More on how May infuriated the EU yesterday, just like she infuriated us

She is a national embarassment

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/mar/22/it-was-not-clear-if-she-had-a-plan-at-all-how-mays-night-at-the-summit-unfolded

with only eight days to go until the original deadline, the British prime minister was granted a full 90 minutes in the multicoloured summit room in the Europa headquarters.
For the EU, it was not time well spent. 😩

“It was 90 minutes of nothing,” one EU source said.
“She didn’t even give clarity if she is organising a vote.

Asked three times what she would do if she lost the vote, she couldn’t say.
It was fucking awful
Dreadful.
Evasive even by her standards.” 😩

About a dozen EU leaders peppered the British prime minister with questions.

Did she have a plan B?
How was she going to gain a majority?
When would she hold the Commons vote?

“She very much dodged these questions,” a second EU source said.

A third source said: “She was not convincing.
It was not clear if she had a plan B;
it was not clear if she had a plan at all.” 🤯

< imo, her Plan B is now No Deal - hence why she asked for 30 June, to get max prepping time >

BigChocFrenzy · 22/03/2019 19:02

Another EU leader said the UK needed to be taken care of “like a patient”. Sad

RedToothBrush · 22/03/2019 19:04

OK, so I was dead against getting hypnotists involved with Brexit...

... But seeing as Uri Geller has stuck his spoon in and written to Theresa I think we will all be fine now.

Jewish telegraph @ jewishtelegraph
BREAKING: @TheUriGeller has today written a letter, handed exclusively to the Jewish Telegraph, to @theresa_may to state that he will "not allow you to lead Britain into #Brexit".

And there you have it. Brexit is happening cos Uri Geller says so.

Time to end Westminstenders. Its work is done.

For pp who asked about what happens in Ireland with No Deal,
Varadkar seems to have worked out his plan
(which he is not publicising)

Macron turned to Varadkar and asked: “What will happen if there is a no-deal Brexit on 12 April. Would you be fine?”

He responded: “We can cope.”

BestIsWest · 22/03/2019 19:05

It’s all ok! We’re saved. URI Geller is going to stop Brexit telepathically. Sticknthat in your pipe Paul McKenna.

BigChocFrenzy · 22/03/2019 19:06

Uri 😂 🤡

Times Red box

If MPs approve Theresa May’s deal this week (stop sniggering) Britain will have until May 22 to pass the necessary legislation for a smooth exit. If not, the cliff edge has been put back until April 12 to come up with that magic something which has so far eluded everyone. It would mean no-deal, or a much longer extension, European elections, and then who knows what?

The picture in Westminster could only be bleaker if Lyse Doucet turned up in a flak jacket and a Red Cross food truck full of rice.

That awful “it’s exciting isn’t it?” childishness has given way to the realisation that there is no good way out of this. Nothing is going to turn up. It won’t be alright in the end. It is now a question of how not alright.

Patrick Wintour @patrickwintour
Disagree. The true voice of doom on the BBC is @OrlaGuerin. As soon as you hear her voice, you know the apocalypse has finally struck. With @bbclysedoucet there is sometimes a humanitarian worker, or a peace process on the horizon. Ps both brilliant btw

Fucking hell. Who is getting Dover on the 13th April?

We need to know.

Uri....

This just got weirder didn't it?

I have to explain this shite to DP. Grin

RedToothBrush · 22/03/2019 19:15

Yeah and not only is Uri saving us from Brexit. He's also already saved us from Jezza!

What an absolute hero!

This afternoon has gone seriously weird

Since these threads fill up fast many if you're having issues with pop ups you should post in the "site stuff" section?

PortiaCastis · 22/03/2019 19:18

Yep only 10 turned up and the roads here on a Friday night are terrible every week (a lot worse in summer) so doubt anyone noticed as the A30 is notorious for traffic so I'm booked on the sleeper train up to London later to go to the march as is easier than the very long drive.
