Not because I'm keeping a list of who has food for when the shit hits the fan... Just because I'm a nosy bitch.

Here's mine - I started adding to it a few weeks ago. It's only me and almost 5yo DS I really have to worry about so I feel its almost there.

Nursing my little AIBU along, happily it’s made easy by various helpful contributions.

wherearemychickens · 02/03/2019 07:28

I've just added my tuppence worth :)

TheElementsSong · 02/03/2019 07:38

born your AIBU is a thing of beauty: a lightning rod for people positively vibrating with righteous fury and bravado (and probably repressed terror).

I was wondering about telling that thread that I (like many of us) started stocking up last summer and finished in January and challenging them to remember those massive shortages people like me caused for those past months.

SparklySneakers · 02/03/2019 08:44

I love that thread so much. The ignorance is outstanding. I love that Bluntness knows that no deal is off the table because it's all over the news Grin

BlackeyedGruesome · 02/03/2019 10:13

There is a lot of reporting of most MPs being against no deal and the upcoming vote, so it does sound hopeful.

But doesn't it require them all to get their act together and do something else to stop time running out and us falling out of the EU with no deal?

Ps I have been reading the thread this morning and admiring your style!

BlackeyedGruesome · 02/03/2019 10:15

Things have been a bit bonkers here so keeping up with the news has been difficult.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/03/2019 12:39

It does Blackeyed, we are at a really critical juncture.

I did spot someone who looked fairly middle class holding a fray bentos tin and eyeing it rather dubiously this morning.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/03/2019 12:40

My spreadsheet is working well, though it's a bit of a palaver to update it each weekend with the shelf life of replacement items.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/03/2019 12:41

After today it's three Saturdays to current Brexit day and one of those is the Demo.

ChakiraChakra · 02/03/2019 13:16

I cannot believe that anybody thinks that anything will go smoothly into brexit given that we are now less than 30 days (which is approx the gestation period of a groundhog, appropriately) away from it and absolutely nothing has been agreed: Do people not realise that it will also take time to amend legislation, make alternative arrangements, make an actual goddamn plan and implement it?!

I've disliked many governments over the years, but I don't think I've seen one quite so inept as this one. I used to think JC offered hope, but he's an absolutely lame duck in opposition. What a total farce.

wherearemychickens · 02/03/2019 13:17

OYBBK, that would have been me in Waitrose last weekend - I put it back in the end!

borntobequiet · 02/03/2019 14:16

They sell corned beef in Waitrose? Well I never. I quite like corned beef, mash and beans. Well I used to, maybe 30 years ago.

ZigZagZombie · 02/03/2019 14:31

Corned beef hash is massively underrated! Honestly, give it a whirl - you'll be pleasantly surprised.

NopeNi · 02/03/2019 14:40

Plain corned beef sandwiches have been my biggest "find" since trying more new foods recently. I love them!

oopslateagain · 02/03/2019 14:45

Now there's loads of cheap Easter eggs in the shops, making them actually cheaper than bars of chocolate, should I sacrifice some stash space and stockpile a load of them? The sell by dates are 2020 (yes I've checked) Grin

BlackeyedGruesome · 02/03/2019 14:58

Open boxes, open foil, split in half, repack one inside the other like a stack of dishes. Return to a big box.

Personally I would store multi packs of small bars. That way you can have a treat and not eat the whole lot. I have very limited self control though.

ChakiraChakra · 02/03/2019 15:04

Are they definitely cheaper than chocolate bars?? I've compared in previous years and even the best reductions have still worked out more expensive.

SparklySneakers · 02/03/2019 15:29

Biscuit stash SmileNeeds adding to as wont last us long. Fog biscuits are on my list of things to get as we all like them and provides fruit too. Fruit, fibre, sugar, fat, carbs. Covers most needs there right in a delicious squishy biscuit.

Fog biscuit?

FriarTuck · 02/03/2019 15:35

Or it could be someone like me who can't read the sodding labels or the BB dates anymore due to being shortsighted and longsighted at the same time! Grin

SparklySneakers · 02/03/2019 15:36

Oh ffs FIG biscuits! Stupid phone Grin

Moorfields · 02/03/2019 16:33

I tested the new Yorkshire biscuit tea bags last night. It's so delicious, just like a proper tasting malty, biscuity tasting brew.

I'll buy a few more boxes from Morrison's as they're on offer for £2 a box atm.

Cloudtree · 02/03/2019 16:34

I bought a whole boxful (20 packs) of tunnocks caramel wafers today on special offer 54p for a pack of 8 (local shop not stocking them any more). DHs favourite so they're going to have to be very well hidden.

Also flat packed more reduced meat. Its astonishing how much you can fit in using the library method.

I did notice prices have gone up. DS2 favourite potato wedges have been 64p for ever. Now 89p. I know it only pennies but the percentage increase is significant.

NoWordForFluffy · 02/03/2019 16:39

Oh god. If I was near you I'd be off to get those Tunnocks wafers. We all love those. I always used to take mine from my hotel room in Glasgow for the kids!
