Not because I'm keeping a list of who has food for when the shit hits the fan... Just because I'm a nosy bitch.

Here's mine - I started adding to it a few weeks ago. It's only me and almost 5yo DS I really have to worry about so I feel its almost there.

Nobody liked my lemming recipe Angry

AutumnCrow · 27/02/2019 21:15

When you say 'like', Chakira, do you mean, erm, actually want to eat? Because I hear that many people nowadays prefer marmalade instead.

SparklySneakers · 27/02/2019 22:13

@ChakiraChakra I'm veggie and I think a few others are so no lemmings for us. But I'm all for a tasty soup. Speaking of marmalade: chilli and lime marmalade (made in Beaumaris, available online) as a dip for chilli heatwave Doritos is bloody gorgeous. Washed down with a beer. Rose's lime marmalade works too. Must add that to brexit boxSmile

ChakiraChakra · 27/02/2019 23:34

😂

BlackeyedGruesome · 27/02/2019 23:46

TSSDNCOP thus we will never know...

Ps, given the state of food supplies after Brexit, I suggest that GCHQ reconsider the rabbits. Rabbits are tasty.

Oh for goodness sakes. This is a thread entitled show me your stockpiles. If you don't have one to show then please bog off rather than coming on and deliberately bickering and trying to cause agro.

We get it - you're superior. You know best. You think we're all thick and gullible. Ok.

This is not the thread you're looking for - move along

TheElementsSong · 28/02/2019 08:04

Again: Think of Salli as a public service announcement in favour of prepping. Anybody who is still undecided, and yet has managed to click on this thread thus showing a modicum of awareness, is probably not going to be convinced to relax back into a pink fluffy cloud of ignorance by the randomly spritzed empty slogans that seem to have no bearing on the actual topic of conversation.

borntobequiet · 28/02/2019 08:19

Why not sign up with GCHQ? They are trying to recruit female operatives. Where better to look than Mumsnet?

Dilemma: my family plan to visit at Easter. Do I a) forward purchase extra to feed them or b) tell them to bring their own food so as not to deplete my reserves?
Actually I might start an IABU.

SparklySneakers · 28/02/2019 08:21

@TheElementsSong salli's link is fake. What a surprise! Reported.

SparklySneakers · 28/02/2019 08:22

@borntobequiet please start an Aibu. I can just imagine some of the replies and would be a good laugh Grin

SalliSunbeem · 28/02/2019 08:23

@SparklySneakers

The post was cut and pasted from previous post, don't know why the link appears fake ?

SalliSunbeem · 28/02/2019 08:24

The point of any forum is debate, and discussions, differences will always occur. Thank god we don't all have the same opinions, how boring life would be.

The only thing boring around here is you.

SparklySneakers · 28/02/2019 08:30

Maybe learn to quote correctly. That would help you appear less intellectually challenged perhaps.

ZigZagZombie · 28/02/2019 08:31

I've got olives, artichoke hearts, anchovies, stuffed vine leaves et al. Have I been doing it wrong? Grin Seriously, if you're going to eat a salad without any nice additions you may as well go back to the 70s and have a scrap of iceberg with a slice of cucumber on top!

Anyway, isn't that the risk of going to Lidl/Aldi?

I know a few GCHQ people who would be preppers simply because of the "type" of person they are - not for any big conspiracy. Although tbf the large majority would prefer a zombie invasion rather than dull goings on at Dover.

It actually sounded really tasted until the lentils. They're not in my stockpile and never will be.

This ^^. Start your own threads if you want to be goady. This one started with a lovely picture and should continue in that frame.

What's wrong with iceberg & a bit of cucumber?! (And tomato and either coleslaw or salad cream) If only I could stockpile lettuce - though I will be growing it Grin

bellinisurge · 28/02/2019 08:35

This thread is for a bit of a laugh and a bit of mutual encouragement in difficult times.
And to be clear- no I don't fucking well want a zombie apocalypse. Nor do I want a bit of difficulty in Dover. I want things not to be fucked up. Is that too difficult to understand.

Parker231 · 28/02/2019 08:41

@Salli - how do you think the supply chain will work after a no deal Brexit?

SparklySneakers · 28/02/2019 08:56

Let's no engage any more, entertaining though they are

SparklySneakers · 28/02/2019 09:04
  • not. Walking and typing Blush
falcon5 · 28/02/2019 09:05

@theelementssong you'll be delighted to know on top of the fire alarms that I am putting in carbon monoxide detector with the new boiler because I don't believe in the boiler, I have been taken in by the propaganda from the fire service and I am therefore causing the boiler to fail.

FriarTuck · 28/02/2019 09:07

A zombie apocalypse might be a bit interesting though... It could cut down on traffic jams and annoying neighbours. And I could get my crossbow out...
I've got balsamic and tenderstem broccoli in my next online shop courtesy of a stockpile recipe. And if we actually leave the EU on 29 March I'm officially declaring my Brexit stash open and starting to enjoy it because I've got some good treats lined up.
