Not because I'm keeping a list of who has food for when the shit hits the fan... Just because I'm a nosy bitch.

Here's mine - I started adding to it a few weeks ago. It's only me and almost 5yo DS I really have to worry about so I feel its almost there.

Can you freeze lemmings? Not that I have room in the freezer. I doubt you'd get much meat off them. A bit like a poussin - looks good but not worth the faff.
I've got onions and shallots waiting for room to appear in the freezer so I can chop & freeze them.

PrawnOfCreation · 27/02/2019 15:05

Thank you @PestyMachtubernahme

AutumnCrow · 27/02/2019 15:05

David Lidington just said in HoC that it's still 'too soon' for government to rule out no deal, to Yvette Cooper. You couldn't make this irresponsible shit up.

AutumnCrow · 27/02/2019 15:10

I'm fairly sure sliced lemming is served for Sunday lunch at Chequers to remind Theresa May of her favoured Cabinet ministers - charging towards the cliff edge and completely purposeless.

TheElementsSong · 27/02/2019 15:52

Hmm, lemmings are a type of rodent are they not? Dormice were a Roman delicacy, and in South America guinea pigs are bred for food, so I'd imagine lemmings would be similarly edible. And while we're considering the edibility of rodents, remember that rats will probably always be plentiful.

And again a friendly reminder to any lurkers - having read the deeply insightful, well-evidenced and content-rich posts of our most recent anti-prepping visitor, feel free to make up your mind.

I've been sowing my broad beans along the sides of my potato bed and my potatoes are currently chitting. I also have some broad beans in the green house ready to plant out soon in the legume bed.

Still have cabbages and kale growing in last year's brassica bed (this year's onion bed), so they'll help get through the hungry gap. It now has some garlic where a couple of the savoys were - but I need to clear a bit more so that I can put in my onion sets.

Must sow some tomatoes, peas and courgettes in the greenhouse Smile

Looking forward to being able to pull some asparagus spears but not too many from the crowns that I planted last year. Smile

Along with my stockpile of tins, rice and pasta, plus frozen meat, we should be ok Wink Being prepared means that we won't be adding to the panic buyers which the Leavers will be when they suddenly realise the consequences of their actions

Lemming Meringue pie is nice

I've been trying not to think about stockpiling more than I already have, but I realised I had £95 in Morrisons vouchers saved up somehow Shock, so I'm spending them this week, as I feel No Deal is more likely again after yesterday. Have just been having a look through to find more of your great ideas. Thank you. Flowers

BlackeyedGruesome · 27/02/2019 17:16

I made it down the Morrisons stocking up aisle. You are better off buying their value tomatoes around the corner.

well, show us your intelligent evidence then salli, so far it is nothing but slogans and insults.

prettybird · 27/02/2019 17:51

I do enjoy the posts by Salli - his or her posts demonstrate beautifully the mindset that has led to intelligent people informing themselves and as a result feeling the need to stockpile.

SparklySneakers · 27/02/2019 18:12

Ah Dim sun

ChakiraChakra · 27/02/2019 18:43

I off go for lemming soup. A bit like chicken soup from the carcass, the meat would be easier to pick off the bones when boiled. Bit of dehydrated shallot, tomato and garlic puree and a handful of brown lentils. Souper.

The cooked, dried bones can be ground into a fine powder (use a coffee grinder or nutribullet) to make an excellent louse treatment.

Uptheapplesandpears · 27/02/2019 18:44

Putin must be getting panicky. I've seen a surge in obvious paid contributors online in the past couple of days.

AutumnCrow · 27/02/2019 18:46

Salli if this country is in a world of poo, is Brexit going to be like a huge portaloo sweeping across the nation trailing special sovereign toilet paper like bunting? Asking for a friend.

TheElementsSong · 27/02/2019 18:46

Think of Salli as a public service announcement in favour of prepping. Anybody who is still undecided, and yet has managed to click on this thread thus showing a modicum of awareness, is probably not going to be convinced to relax back into a pink fluffy cloud of ignorance by the randomly spritzed empty slogans that seem to have no bearing on the actual topic of conversation.

borntobequiet · 27/02/2019 18:49

I don’t think GCHQ is posting on this thread, Salli. Unless in order to monitor traitorous forward purchasing.

Cloudtree · 27/02/2019 18:51

I particularly love it when the drop ins can't string an insulting sentence together..

RedToothBrush · 27/02/2019 18:52

I think GCHQ have better things to do then be bothered with the likes of us. They have too many people to track as it is.

Plus, they were banned from mass survellance by a court decision found they were breaking the law. Much to May's annoyance.

SparklySneakers · 27/02/2019 19:09

It doesn't surprise me your knowledge is lacking.

PestyMachtubernahme · 27/02/2019 20:07

GCHQ protects the UK and its citizens from individuals, groups and countries who wish to do us harm, or damage us financially.
Hmm
Does that include institutions that wish to make our economy 6.3% - 9% smaller?

IDoN0tCare · 27/02/2019 20:30

FFS. It wasn't remotely furious!

It was tongue firmly in cheek!

Oh bugger! Sorry Red. You were too convincing. Have you ever thought of going undercover as a Brexiteer? Grin

RedToothBrush · 27/02/2019 20:41

Have you ever thought of going undercover as a Brexiteer

DH has said in the past since all the local tory party members are literally dying off here we should infiltrate the party and he should stand. Then he vote full on hard remain (he's more europhile that me).

The main thing that puts him off is the sheer abuse for being a tory. He doesn't fancy dogshit on the front door and posted through the letterbox (as happened to the last candidate who has subsequently quit the party).
