Not because I'm keeping a list of who has food for when the shit hits the fan... Just because I'm a nosy bitch.

Here's mine - I started adding to it a few weeks ago. It's only me and almost 5yo DS I really have to worry about so I feel its almost there.

Puttanesca sauce is nice with tuna...fresh ideally but could use tinned in a storecupboard scenario.

Lovely on pizza with black olives, marinated artichokes and prosciutto.

Anchovies and capers, eh? Puts my very working class stockpile of beans and tinned tuna to shame! I have got a couple of packs of halloumi (BBE some time in 2020.)

Capers are pricey, aren't they? And I only ever use a few at a time because DP and DC don't like them. I suppose I could freeze them in sad little bags for one, with the black olives they also don't like. Absolute philistines.*

*which is an ironic label as the real Philistines from the Levant probably ate a lot of olives and capers - and probably anchovies / garum 😀

A baked bean (of which I have goodly number of tins) is a thing of joy with capers and butter. Capers and olives were first on my list when I thought things from Spain/Greece/Italy might be disrupted. Innocent early stash days. Now surrounded by cif and loo roll and other more prosaic things. Where did it all go wrong !!

I just buy the jars of capers from Lidl. I use them instead of fish when I’m making a fish and potato cake, with breadcrumbs. Actually, I haven’t made that particular dish for years. Now where did I leave that recipe?

Ha ha. I have been wanting to make a loo roll joke (ie why £hundreds of rolls when there is an air of ‘rations’ re food - haven’t dared.
Honest try the sweetnof beans with the sharpnof caper is delicious !

I’ve been veggie my whole adult life and that caper/fish thing rang a bell - I’m going to try them in potato cake. Sounds really good. Thanks.

You’re welcome. 😁 I was making them for my husband years ago and suddenly thought, ‘capers have a briney taste and so do fish!’💡 It’s not too bad. I find the cakes, fish or capers, don’t cook as nicely if they’re frozen, unfortunately.

Tell me about it! Sigh. 😔 Ifvthey guck it up we’ll have a renewal of the troubles on top of it. I swear that I’ve made an effort not to fall out with the very few Brexit friends that I have, but if NI gets fucked over because of this vote I don’t think I could let them over my door again.
