Brexit

Hypothetically, is there any combination of circumstance that could stop Brexit?

Hypothetically but with some basis in reality, I mean. So not an alien invasion.

Hypothetically yes.

In the U.K. constitution there is parliamentary supremacy so in theory the U.K. parliament can vote in an act of parliament to repeal any previous act.

In practice there is no majority in parliament now who would vote for this.

Which leaves the royal prerogative.

In theory the queen could overrule parliament but that would be the end of the monarchy and I don’t think she’s keen to do that!

@EssentialHummus could mr milliband ride in on a white horse or would that be too perfect???

He's not an MP anymore, so would have to stand in a by election and be elected or be appointed a peer by a Tory government, and all in about a month to make a revocation possible. I think that can't really stand as plan B Grin

I hope there is no way it can be stopped now. I also want no deal. It's what I voted for.
MN is definitely a bubble. It is london centric plus ex pats living in EU who want to keep FoM.
Every one I know wants out and as quickly as possible.

I know no-one, apart from my parents and their friends who voted to leave. 🤷 I must live in that bubble then.

Couldn’t agree more copper

The far right are going to get even bigger as a result of Brexit, I think.

I definitely live in a Remain bubble. It's called Scotland Wink

To the posters who say they voted for a no deal:
Can you point me to the exit details of the terms of leaving that I seemed to miss? I seem to recall a lot of waffling about 'Norway style options but I never remember no deal being an option at the time of the vote.

I'll wait.

What does no deal look like? In terms of our lives?
