Scared by the prepping threads?

Should we be scared?

Do you have reassurance to offer?

Heinz or Branston?

I'm getting a list together

rainbowsandsmiles · 29/07/2018 22:56

Branston. No, Heinz! Hell, stockpile 'em all. I still have room under my bath. If I throw the towels out of the airing cupboards too (presuming we don't need to wash after Brexit as we won't have any soap anyway and we'll all be living in the woods) so might put a few tins of rice pudding and jam roly poly in there too. To keep the spirits up. Biscuits wise I prefer a hobnob so best get some of them in too.

AbsentmindedWoman · 29/07/2018 22:59

I've never had Branston beans. Am I missing out?

Ski4130 · 29/07/2018 23:02

I don’t like beans, so clearly I’m screwed when TSHTF!

RedToothBrush · 29/07/2018 23:02

I still have room under my bath.

I ran out of space under the drawer today. The tins were too big and it wouldn't close. I had to think of somewhere else to put them. This is proving a challenge.

I haven't started stockpiling biscuits yet. I didn't think they had shelf lives that long.

Rice pudding made me gip as child as they force feed it to be on Brownie Camp. Eating it again is a step too far. Even I won't go that far.

I make my own baked beans from home grown beans. I'm in the wrong century aren't I.

Insulin status from Pharmaceutical Journal nobody knows and they are a bit worried.

rainbowsandsmiles · 29/07/2018 23:05

Not even Ambrosia rice pudding? Used to love me a nice warm bowl of that when little. Dollop of strawberry jam in there too to mix in, yum, damn, not had that for years! Ahh nostalgia. How about some tinned Spotted Dick instead?! Grin

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 29/07/2018 23:07

Well if it’s beans or ketchup it’s a very hard Heinz.
When it comes to pickle I’m voting for a soft Branston with an option for pickled onions (silver skin mind)

keyboardkate · 29/07/2018 23:07

I wonder where in the EU this kind of prep needs to happen these days.

But maybe some are relishing the challenge. I cannot agree myself as it is so totally unnecessary really. I await the benefit of Brexit. If someone can tell me what that is. Thanks.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 29/07/2018 23:09

I’m sure someone on here can explain the benefits to you...........

rainbowsandsmiles · 29/07/2018 23:11

Ooh, pickles. Yes, Branston win at the pickles. Branston sandwich pickle. Great on a ham sandwich. Question - do we have to kill our own pigs after Brexit? As I may have to woman up and do so if so.

keyboardkate · 29/07/2018 23:12

Aintnothing.

Am still waiting!

LellyMcKelly · 29/07/2018 23:12

I’m pretty much moving to an all Angel Delight diet, which is great, because I was planning on doing that anyway.

Jozxyqk · 29/07/2018 23:12

Branston beans are fabulous, much better than Heinz. I stock up on Branston whenever they are in stock, just because they are good! I'd get Whole Earth but they're 4x the price...

AbsentmindedWoman · 29/07/2018 23:13

Remember for a while you could get tins of beans with sausages in?

I always wondered what the sausages were like but couldn't bring myself to experiment.

RedToothBrush · 29/07/2018 23:13

Question: What are the EU planning to stockpile? What are they asking business to stockpile?

Do we have to kill our own pigs after Brexit?

You keep pigs?

Gosh, you really are a prepper rainbow.

PestymcPestFace · 29/07/2018 23:15

The EU are planning to stockpile lorries waiting to get into British ports which have custom jams.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 29/07/2018 23:15

Me too keyboard don’t be holing your breath!
I’ve just gone and made some cheese on toast and smothered it in brown sauce.
Class

Whatthefoxgoingon · 29/07/2018 23:16

Branston hands down!

KennDodd · 29/07/2018 23:17

I think Brexit will be the end of the Tories. Labour will suffer heavily as well. That's a plus in my books. Although if the last two years have taught me anything it's that the right-wing press and the Tories will just blame immigrants and poor people and that the public will believe their lies.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 29/07/2018 23:17

AbsentmindedWoman they were quite nice but basically you had a tin of beans with one little sausage in it fighting for breath

rainbowsandsmiles · 29/07/2018 23:18

Aw man, used to love Angel Delight too. As an adult though too much milk powder in for me to tolerate Sad may have to try inventing my own version.

keyboardkate · 29/07/2018 23:18

Why would the EU (minus uk) have to stockpile?

Do they rely on food or other imports from UK ?

lindalee3 · 29/07/2018 23:19

I am prepared for the Armageddon Brexit will bring.

Hope there's enough stuff here for when we leave the EU. I hear all electric will be cut off, all heating, all food supplies, all medicines, all light, all oxygen, the moon will fall out of the sky, the rivers, lakes, and oceans will all dry up, and we won't be able to get any tippex, or blu-tack, or rennies, or halls mentholyptus. Sad

God help us all. We're doomed. Sad

WHY LORD WHY?!!!!!!!!!!! Sad
