Westministenders: The Zombie PM

Back from the dead, May carries on whilst the vultures circle.

She had tried to out smart her rivals by running of to the palace to tell the queen she could form a government before they could act.

Definitely she stood and pretended nothing had changed. Except everything had. The wrath of her party was unleashed and there was open revolt. She has been summoned to appear before men in grey suits tomorrow at 5pm to hear their verdict.

How do she decide to make amends and reach out to moderate Tories? By sleeping with the DUP. And appointing Gove to her Cabinet.

How long will this last? How long can it last?

@berlaymonster
Does writing something on a goat make it more or less credible than if it's written on the side of a bus?

CivQueen · 12/06/2017 17:03

Place marking again.

Is it wrong that I've been immensely cheered up today, by how much May will be completely shitting it, right about...now Grin

HashiAsLarry · 12/06/2017 17:05

So if May gets her p45 then we'll have another reshuffle. Only for cunt to still get health right?

PinkPeppers · 12/06/2017 17:07

Last time I saw a photo of TM she didn't look well at all....
Too many sleepless nights and huge stress?

Cheering and banging of desks from Tory MPs as PM enters 1922 committee - not exactly thunderous, it has to be said.

Banging on the desks as PM enters 1922 committee. Hardly thunderous...

So 1922 backbench cttee of Tory MPs just gave @theresa_may 30 seconds of desk banging. It turns out the election was a total Tory triumph!

Its like school. Or were they banging their heads?

I think even the dimmest voter would smell a rat if she had to step down "for health reasons".

Unless that reason is keeping Jeremy Hunt in Health ?

events that previously might have forced a government out of power—such as loss of supply, defeat of a Queen's Speech or other important legislation, or a vote of no confidence in the Prime Minister rather than the government as a whole—cannot formally do so

Aha. I see: 2012.

There was an interesting post a while back about DC and the time and um influences on his decision to hold the referendum in the first place, in 2013?

I see.

BigChocFrenzy · 12/06/2017 17:23

The boundary changes almost certainly won't go through anyway in current form:

MPs won't vote for the reduction of seats from 650 to 600 and it's impossible to remove this without redoing all the boundaries again.
So, I expect the Electoral Commission will be told to create a new proposal for 650 MPs - and that will take at least a couple of years, with all the submissions, objections etc

"Sinn Fein would get more NI seats than DUP under boundary changes" < howls with laughter >
Ok, that confirms it !

A Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) councillor has posted a mocked up image of a terrorist group's flag raised outside Number 10 Downing Street.

In an apparent celebration of his party's prospective role in government, Ian Stevenson, posted the picture of the Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) flag flying next to the Prime Minister's residence.

Theresa May told Tory MPs, according to Keith Simpson MP: "I got us into this mess and I'm going to get us out."

I bet they all feel dead reassured by that...

howabout Nurses numbers are obviously worrying, but if you examine the bar chart I posted of specialist surgeons, then it's clear that the % of E27 specialists and other doctors is much higher than the % of E27 citizens in the UK.

Specialist surgeons take several years to train, so if their numbers reduce, then operations will be delayed.
I don't think anyone voted to delay operations for themselves and their families.

lalalonglegs · 12/06/2017 17:28

Lurking - didn't Fiona Hill threaten Adam Boulton a few weeks ago for the mere suggestion that May might have health problems? I know Hill has now gone but it would still be a bit of a U-turn... oh, right.

ClashCityRocker · 12/06/2017 17:30

Its all a bit 'I have a cunning plan...' isn't it?

Where's baldrick when you need him?

BigChocFrenzy · 12/06/2017 17:31

woman That shows what allies May has chosen - terrorist sympathisers.Angry
Imagine if any party of the left posted No. 10 with an IRA flag - would the Fail ignore it like this ?

The UVF has murdered hundreds of people.
It is officially classified as a terrorist organisation by the UK, RoI and USA.

CaptainBrickbeard · 12/06/2017 17:32

I am a bit worried about the Queen. She is a very old lady now and this is all a bit stressful, not to mention that Philip doesn't seem well either. I have been wondering what on earth a royal funeral and coronation would do to the political climate; I know it's morbid to speculate. But everything is so far from stable right now and I imagine that would be an extremely destabilising event.

LovelyBath77 · 12/06/2017 17:32

TM has Diabetes, Type 1 i think

LovelyBath77 · 12/06/2017 17:33

Queen has just been to see the Ariana Grande victims in hospital as well. Must be really stressful for her in her 90s as well.

Lost that winning streak ? Tory seats at GEs
Not won a decent majority since MrsT left:

1987: 375 (large majority, Maggie's last win)*
1992*: 336 (small majority which nearly ran out, John Major)
1997: 165 (Blair landslide)
2001: 166 (Blair landslide)
2005: 198 (Blair comfortable majority)
2010: 306 (Cameron, hung parliament - coalition with LDs)
2015: 331 (Cameron, small majority)
2017: 318 (May, hung parliament - current chaos)

Those three little boys murdered at Drumcree, BigChoc they are unspeakably evil these people.

I feel ashamed that they've held any elected anywhere, let alone on Britain. A 15 year old boy was cruelly attacked in Belfast this week, in what seems like a sectarian attack.

Today the Belfast Telegraph has these stories:

^Terrified schoolgirls victims of vile racial abuse in Belfast city centre
"I'm a f*ing Prod, and I've been homeless for the past three f**ing years^.

www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/terrified-schoolgirls-victims-of-vile-racial-abuse-in-belfast-city-centre-35815093.html

www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/uk/fight-breaks-out-as-loyalist-march-passes-irish-bar-in-liverpool-35817549.html

And in Liverpool.^

The DUP and their thugs are beneath contempt, and seem to attack children in particular.
