WELLLLL

Its just before 2.00am.

So far its the YouGov model all the way. Still a long way to go but, the Cons are not getting the top of their target list and Labour are doing very well in seats they just 'shouldn't be'.

Corbyn is now favourite to take the poison chalice of Brexit, but they may not be the largest party yet.

This is looking right now like 1974 not 1983.

May's potted regardless. I look forward to her resignation speech. Its still entirely possible that our next government is a Tory Minority under another leader.

The LDs are having a rough night so far. They are loosing deposits all over the place as they are squeezed out. But they still might hold the balance of power yet. Though they are pledged not to go into coalition.

Another election in the autumn? Brexit delayed and going soft and squishy?

The DUP alliance really does illustrate how removed NI is from from mainstream Britain's consciousness.

DU who? DU what?

Waiting now for May to go to Buck Palace to get ROASTED by the Queen. I'm am fairly sure the Queen behind those doors and in private will not be a happy bunny with May.

Is she known for giving actual dressing downs to PMs?

RedToothBrush · 09/06/2017 12:31

squoosh I tried to search for their manifesto earlier.

The DUP's website was creaking and didn't work. Too much traffic I presumed.

In my constituency, people have voted Labour (when they were Conversative the last to elections and looking like the Tories woud win again).
Same with the surrounding areas, all voted Labour.
This is also an area with a very high percentage of vote for Brexit and UKIP (GE2015).

So the change is major there. Despite brexit and immigration issue, they've voted against TM and the Conservatives.

Today Im just holding on the fact that hopefully Hard Brexit is out, that the population has shown clearly that they are not giving her a mandate for a a hard brexit.
It has also reminded me that all the rhetoric in the last 18 months has been that. Ideas spouted by the (very) right wing media and UKIP/TM but that it might not actually what people feel or want. Esp on immigration.

RedToothBrush · 09/06/2017 12:35

Yes. She has good relationships and poor relationships with her various PMs. She does ask difficult questions apparently.

the first female Sikh MP great news and that Jared O'Mara first new MP with cerebral palsy too. Smile There's been/is a lot of lost talent when people with cerebral palsy are discriminated against.

RedToothBrush · 09/06/2017 12:39

Ultimately I can live with a Norway style deal. I can't stomach the idea of this no deal bullshit.

Other controversial stuff easier to fight I think. Especially Human Rights bullshit.

Those proposed boundary changes will be tough to pass.

I think this alliance with the DUP really puts Tories in a a very difficult position to be honest. Appeasing the DUP will alienate moderate in the conservatives in many policies and hard-brexiteers on the subject of Brexit. At the same time this situation will only serve to embolden Tory rebels to the right and centre, who are just as able to influence the parties position as the DUP. When having only 7 people in the party not vote with you is going to leave you screwed this makes for a very, very tricky balance to manage.

RedToothBrush · 09/06/2017 12:40

Yvette Cooper‏*@YvetteCooperMP*
Hung parliament means Brexit negotiations can't be done by a small Tory cabal. Need cross party commission. Best chance of sustainable deal

Listen to Yvette. It protects your government ironically.

Labour have elected two disabled MPs. I don't know who they are though.

KENSINGTON!!!!! has gone labour

RedToothBrush · 09/06/2017 12:43

George Eaton‏*@georgeeaton*

This election showed diminished power of right-wing press. Social media growth is structural problem for Tories.

Yep.

Kensington is apparently going Labour. Official declaration to come.

Glad to hear that Yvette has been reading my proposals for a cross-party Brexit negotiating team Wink

I would send Keir Starmer, Nick Clegg and Ruth Davidson to Brussels to get the job done

Badders123 · 09/06/2017 12:45

everthibkyouvebeenconned · 09/06/2017 12:47

She's doing the ultimate walk of shame

It must feel dirty

RedToothBrush · 09/06/2017 12:48

May on way back to downing street. I'm about to get very irate and pissed off by her speech aren't I?!

OP posts:
BestIsWest · 09/06/2017 12:49

Mandelson on R4. Still wants Labour to imitate the Tories.

Badders123 · 09/06/2017 12:50

If she uses the words strong and stable I will lose my shit

BestIsWest · 09/06/2017 12:50

I can't help feeling that going into government with the DUP is going to be disastrous. The youth won't buy that one.

OlennasWimple · 09/06/2017 12:52

I've just read Lord Buckethead's manifesto - looks pretty good to me

squishysquirmy · 09/06/2017 12:52

Yes but hopefully much more disastrous for the Tories than for the country as a whole.

HashiAsLarry · 09/06/2017 12:53

@stancollymore
The irony of this election may be the Tories have to rely on a party that supports..

Terrorists

It's ok though, they're British ones.

What the hell has happened to us that some of our best political commentators are footballers Confused

RedToothBrush · 09/06/2017 12:53

Hot air. Empty bullshit.

Sounds rattled still.
