I was thinking about how I could sum up the general election campaign and well. This said it all.

Agree Badders, and the tories will finish off the job themselves. Even with a modest majority, she is fatally weakened. All the opposition parties have put up dignified and successful campaigns. Boris Johnson's dad on now arguing for a softer brexit. Whodda thunk it. Bojo 3/1 for next PM.

Looking like Labour will take East Lothian from the SNP.

Oh piss. I was planning on staying up for Rudd, but I do have to be up again in the morning!

Labour confident of taking Ipswich from Tories - from Ben Gummer, who put the Tory manifesto together - what a symbol if true

East Lothian?

If the #ExitPolll is right, tomorrow's Daily Mail headline will be that the people are the "enemy of the people". #Election2017

From George Osborne:
'It is early days, it's a poll, if the poll is anything like accurate this is completely catastrophic for the Conservatives and for Theresa May.

'It's difficult to see, if these numbers are right, how they would put together the coalition to remain in office.'

'Clearly if she's got a worse result than two years ago and is almost unable to form a government then she, I doubt, will survive in the long term as Conservative party leader.'

(This all from the DM.)

The knives are out.

I'm in Spain, so it's already 1.35. I think I'm going to have to go to bed, not sure I'll sleep though.

Oh the idea of Murdoch throwing a pissy little hissy fit fills my heart with joy. What a cancer he is in our society.

RedToothBrush · 09/06/2017 00:39

LAB gain in Battersea.

Northampton North, Lab think they will win.
Thurrock, Lab think they will win.

All consistent with YouGov...

Nuneaton Tory. Ohhhh. Isn't that meant to be key bellwether seat? But if we have unprecedented numbers voting anything might happen...

Yes! My MP and Brexit apologist, Jane Ellison, has been given a P45 by the wise voters of Battersea (she had a 8000 majority). Blind, black, female Labour MP takes her place - it couldn't be more perfect.

Mother. Right now on course for YouGov. Its mirroring it well. Percentages are close to their predictions in many of the results.

But a LONG way to go.

I'm an hour ahead too, motherofdragons. Really need to sleep but can't stop refreshing the page here and on the guardian.

lalalonglegs · 09/06/2017 00:44

STAY UP Mo4D - YOU ARE FORBIDDEN TO SLEEP (I'm amazed you can even contemplate it).
