Rufus, I would never ignore you, you're far too nice. Grin

I have friendly feelings for Bear 🐻 too on these threads, and obvs there are several decent & nice posters across the WM threads too.

Just a shame there's a small minority that are akin to being covered in cold sick.
But such is life, there are twats everywhere sadly.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 22/03/2017 22:21

Right back at you semi Grin

time4chocolate · 22/03/2017 22:26

I made some of these lovely looking biscuits today so I am passing them around if anyone wants to try one. I could also have made some unicorn poo but that wasn't quite as appealing Grin

Brexit Unicorns...

It's a bit rich of the Brexiteers to complain about supposed "shouting down", particularly after what happened here during the referendum campaign itself.

And also I find MNHQs response here somewhat disingenuous in the light of that campaign, as posts and posters were regularly deleted during that campaign at the behest of various shills posters, when even Leave supporters didn't understand why. There was much to be ashamed of during that campaign.

very disappointed in MN posters today :(

I have been a MN poster for long time. A very personal issue came up I changed to an Anon name so I could comment without outing. Have not changed back because I didn't want to post on same topic under 2 different names.

I am disappointed in MN posters at their reactions to today's events. If one person was offensive, it doesn't give posters replying excuse to be offensive. Sometime you have to rise above, and personally I thought today was one of those days.

One can live in the past, or in the present.

It's a choice.

I choose the present.

SemiPermanent · 23/03/2017 00:27

Draylon, there are no 'thread police' or monitors on MN as far as I'm aware, so am a tad unsure what authority you seem to be operating under the delusion of.

Anon can call herself whatever she wants.

It's fuck all to do with anyone other than anon what her name is.

Quite a lack of self-awareness displayed in your school-ma'am-ish "come on here like a grown up".
Snippy, superior & wanky.

Engage or disengage, it is entirely your choice.

Either way, I am, as ever, spectacularly uninterested.

If you think people are sock-puppeting then report them.

Sorry if the thread went a bit crazy yesterday.
I came on for a bit of light hearted posting, and never meant anyone to feel bullied.
However, if someone is posting views which spread prejudice against a particular group (even if it is hidden in euphemism and dog whistles) I will respond to that. I know that most leave voters aren't racist or islamophobic. I know that worrying about immigration numbers doesn't necessarily make someone xenophobic.

But if one person starts ranting away (and come on, we all know she was talking about Muslims and those of Muslim descent) about certain immigrants changing the "look of the country", and starts making sweeping generalisations that those immigrants (and their children, and grandchildren) "don't like working for a white boss" and are all incurably "indoctrinated" "intolerant"and "misogenist", then yes, the tone of the thread will change. I'm not trying to shut anyone's freedom of speech down. But I can't ignore those posts. There's enough bloody hate in this world as it is.
It doesn't have much to do with Brexit, of course, and if a fellow remainer was posting views like that, I like to believe that I would challenge them too.

That's why your thread went weird, and it went weird this morning - before the atrocity of the afternoon.
