I choose the present

Well, given that you voted Brexit, I'm guessing you think it's 1954 or something...

Kaija · 23/03/2017 09:06

Well said squishy

SemiPermanent · 23/03/2017 09:11

Agree with the main thrust of your post squishy.
I couldn't give a toss what way someone voted tbh, it certainly doesn't colour my view of them one bit.

SemiPermanent · 23/03/2017 09:12

Well, given that you voted Brexit, I'm guessing you think it's 1954 or something...

Why's that cardinal?

Olympiathequeen · 23/03/2017 09:26

Draylon. MN doesn't allow people to name change and reply to their own post although unless it's actually reported by a suspicious poster they won't pick it up. If it's reported they check the IP address and rap your knuckles.

Tha anon issue annoys a lot of people but apparently if you are on an iPhone you don't have the option to change. It's just confusing because you don't know who you are replying to and it's an issue MN should sort out because this never used to be the case.

Ditto .....well said squishy. I am quite allergic to verbal bullying I was that small, mousy, specky four eyes in the playground

Olympiathequeen · 23/03/2017 09:27

I'm now slim, petite, blonde and have contact lenses Grin

GhostofFrankGrimes · 23/03/2017 10:45

Leave voters in my work place are now worrying about economic impact of Brexit.

Thanks for the links badders shit is really hitting the fan now isn't it?

howabout · 23/03/2017 11:40

Next haven't sold me anything for years - the quality is variable, they never have my size, kids clothes are skimpy and drab coloured and prices are not competitive - nothing to do with Brexit. The markets seem to take a similar view. Shares in Next have risen despite results as they are judged to be addressing the issues.

howabout · 23/03/2017 11:42

"Single market benefit largely imaginary" apparently.

howabout · 23/03/2017 11:44

Just as I thought Squishy Grin

CountMagnus · 23/03/2017 12:43

But aren't academics like experts?

Agree about Next clothing being pretty rubbish, I haven't bought anything for years because of the quality and the cut.

Anon1234567890 · 23/03/2017 13:54

FWIW I didnt choose a random anon number, it is a very specific numerical sequence. For those who find Maths difficult I added 1 to each digit until I got to 10 then in a deliberate attempt to confuse everyone I used the single digit 0 instead of 10. Mind blown.

Now back to Brexit.

Kaija · 23/03/2017 14:03

The Civitas report referred to in Howabout's link doesn't make a lot of sense.

Saying countries outside the single market have had greater export growth than the UK, without looking at why, and then concluding that this means the UK can just walk away unscathed is rather like saying you can jump out of a 20th floor window unharmed, because - look - the people down on the pavement are all doing fine.

howabout · 23/03/2017 14:48

A bit more from the Civitas author.

www.conservativehome.com/platform/2017/03/michael-burrage-the-evidence-supports-mays-decision-to-leave-the-single-market.html

I think the contention is rather that there is very little of substance which the UK would be walking away from Kaija

draylon987654321 · 23/03/2017 15:10

I agree with Draylon.

SemiPermanent · 23/03/2017 15:53

Jezza Corbyn making a big show of pushing through the journalists to publicly lay a wreath for the victims.

Did take the time to do a quick interview as he barged through to 'pay his respects' though.

Excellent" study" there squishy Grin - shame it's by an "expert" who sounds rather "elite" so should we believe it or not??! Grin

Draylon987654321 · 23/03/2017 17:09

Draylon WinkGrin

squishysquirmy · 23/03/2017 21:29

The Hatton Garden movies: how the British crime film lost its bottle

Upcoming films based on the jewellery burglary give us caricatured old-school villains and semi-fictional nostalgia – the perfect fit for Brexit Britain
