That's all. Pop over and sit down quietly if you like.

Hmmmm

I need to sit on a big comfy pillow and sit for a while. Tired of the arguing.

nobeer · 14/03/2017 21:08

I'll join you all too. Sad times indeed. My DH is from a European country and we're quite worried about the future. I also agree history will think this was absolute madness.

missmoon · 14/03/2017 21:18

This is great, thank you. I'm feeling better just reading this. I'm alternating between anger, sadness, and denial.

Brokenbutbreathing · 14/03/2017 21:21

I think lots of people have symptoms of real, genuine grief over this. For the loss of what our country was, and what it should have been in the future. For how it will affect our children and grandchildren's lives. Deep sigh.

[eats biscuits slowly]

Biscuit Nice, biscuits. Always reliable.

smashedinductionhob · 14/03/2017 21:26

True.

About the biscuits.

I can't accept it. I just can't.

RandomDent · 14/03/2017 21:30

All this just to try and appease some old Tories. Talk about a massive own goal. :(

user1487519954 · 14/03/2017 21:31

I'm sort of glad other people are still upset too - thought I was being unreasonable!
The phrase "turkeys voting for christmas" just keeps going round in my head!
Hehe Badders ..."capacious bosom"....

Ookmybanana · 14/03/2017 21:31

Room for a little one? I have a celebrations wrapper and a bit of tissue. Between this and indyref2 I am now avoiding the news forevermore.
My dad lives in the EU and has seen his pension drop by an awful lot because of the exchange rate uncertainty and isn't sure what will happen to him in the future. It's all just...pants.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 14/03/2017 21:35

I can't even listen to or watch things about it. It just upsets me too much.

Madness

smashedinductionhob · 14/03/2017 21:37

It's a quiet dark room full of quiet dark corners. The blaring music is far away.

Come sit.

Anyone going on the 25th march demo?

Yes, already a coachload of us going from Oxford and surrounds. If there is enough demand, a second coach will be put on. I know of others making their way there independently. Have knitted the hat.

A Quiet sad corner
Kaija · 14/03/2017 21:52

Don't get too comfortable in the corner. We've still got placards to make, marches to go on, MPs to lobby, pro-EU political parties to join...

Who's going to the march on the 25th?

Kaija · 14/03/2017 21:52

X-posts!

Kaija · 14/03/2017 21:52

Good work on the hat!

smashedinductionhob · 14/03/2017 21:53

It's good knitting.

I'm a church elder and I'd like to reassure you that virtual chocolate is acceptable during lent, so tuck in. Seek comfort where he may. I'm another one whose DH voted leave for reasons of economic geekery. I'm finding it hard to forgive him. He doesn't have any understanding of the human cost. Sorry. I'll hush now. BearBear we need candles as well as teddy bears.

MrsMontgomerySmythe · 14/03/2017 21:57

Shuffle along please ladies is there room for another one?

I am a UK national living in a EU country and dp is from another EU country plus I work for the EU!

Our futures are very uncertain at the moment. I may need to sell my home for financial reasons linked to brexit. All Our happy plans are up in the air. So hard to have such uncertainty ... And am very sad for my lovely nieces and nephews who won't have the freedom to work and travel and fall in love abroad as I have done.

Not to mention the economy and intolerance and racism (sigh).

Am off alcohol for lent so may need to take up chocolate eating (never normally touch it but tough times!).

smashedinductionhob · 14/03/2017 21:57

I think the hope too.

The hope was definitely good.

smashedinductionhob · 14/03/2017 21:58

Ah yes.

The falling in love.

Good, good memories.

I have just made a soup on another thread. Here, grab a cup everyone.

bringonyourwreckingball · 14/03/2017 22:06

I think I have found my people. I am just so sad. I have done angry, then hopeful (it might not happen!) angry again several times and now just sad. This weekend we are visiting my lovely friends who will probably now leave because she is German and now doesn't feel welcome here. And my kids won't get to study in Europe like I did. So sad.

Valentine2 · 14/03/2017 22:08

I like your name.
