Well here we are, almost 9 months on from the referendum & A50 is finally set to be triggered this month.
We've had petitions, marches, tantrums & tears, from the hardcore remainers desperately trying to stop the will of the people, but they can't.

So let's get the champagne out of the cellar ready & waiting - this is the last Brexit Arms thread so let's celebrate!

Act like intelligent adults or petulant children. At the moment it is the latter. The Willy waving is pathetic. The empire is dead.

Svetlana33 · 13/03/2017 09:28

As a resident of Surrey, I think I can state, quite categorically, that Svetlana (beautiful British name) is talking bollocks

Racist remark from CardinalSin. I declared at beginning of this thread that I am foreigner married to english man .... what is your problem with foreign people?

No, not talking bollocks. the semi-rural surrey where we lived properties are upwards of £5 million, and our nearest neighbours were Dutch and Spanish. Not your part of surrey my dear.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 13/03/2017 09:34

You said many people in surrey

That is what tanith is calling bollocks on

If you had said some people or everyone i know, she wouldnt have a leg to stand on

CountMagnus · 13/03/2017 09:48

Nice stealth boast there Svetlana. Explains your previous comment about Staines.

I don't live in Surrey, but many of my neighbours are European and North American due to the nature of industry here (and couldn't vote in the referendum), however the majority of the county will be British and voted overwhelmingly to remain so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make?

Svetlana33 · 13/03/2017 12:18

You said many people in surrey. That is what tanith is calling bollocks on

My country endured 70 years of totalitarian bollocks and now I find that mind on mumsnet.

SemiPermanent · 13/03/2017 12:19

So Ms Sturgeon has declared she's going for another indyref....

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 13/03/2017 12:23

Whats that got to do with tanith?

Svetlana33 · 13/03/2017 12:27

Boast? If you like, I don't care, just explaining some parts very nice, other parts not. When foreign business person relocates to England, he always try to live in nice area. good accommodation allowance allows this. so in our part of world houses were rented by executives from EU firms who of course prefer to stay in England ..... much nicer than any other EU country.

missmoon · 13/03/2017 12:31

Svetlana says: "No, not talking bollocks. the semi-rural surrey where we lived properties are upwards of £5 million, and our nearest neighbours were Dutch and Spanish. Not your part of surrey my dear."

Go to ONS Neighbourhood Statistics, look up "country of birth" (within the census quick statistics) data for various LADs and wards in Surrey, confirm that she's talking bollocks.

Here: www.neighbourhood.statistics.gov.uk/dissemination/

Svetlana33 · 13/03/2017 12:41

Of course missmoon. Do not rely on own eyes, ignore what person see, but go somewhere on internet. very unusual. I do not like a store but No, I am wrong and must ignore my experience, cannot be true because statistics for store give many stars 5/5. You believe paper, I believe eyes.

TheElementsSong · 13/03/2017 12:45

Dafuq? Confused

Kaija · 13/03/2017 12:46

Svetlana, the thing about "nice" areas, in Surrey or elsewhere, is that only a small proportion of the population lives there. Your European neighbours may be real but they are not remotely significant in terms of the overall voting population of Surrey,

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 13/03/2017 12:46

I dont think anyone is arguing that the people surrounding you are exactly as you say

Its the blanket "many people" rather than "everyone i know" thats causing the problem

CardinalSin · 13/03/2017 12:46

It must be wonderful to live in such a limited space as your own blinkers.

That would explain your addiction to Brexit though...

histinyhandsarefrozen · 13/03/2017 12:47

You believe paper, I believe eyes.

Awesome. Grin

Kaija · 13/03/2017 12:47

Sorry, cross posts with Elements. I think that was what I meant to say - far more succinct.

Love that Semi. I just listened to her whilst waiting in the bank twenty minutes of saying nothing. If the majority of the Scottish residents living in Scotland want to leave the U.K. Then we should gracefully part ways. I can't bear NS but leaving the EU does change things and perhaps another Indy Ref will put things to rest. I think (obviously I don't know) but I think it will be even more in favour of staying in the UK.

TheFullMrExit · 13/03/2017 13:41

Barging in, been a dry Jan and Feb, but breaking the fast for a large glass of British FIZZ PLEASE

TheFullMrExit · 13/03/2017 13:51

I felt heartened at Sturgeons speech. She said PM wouldn't budge - thats good we need a tough PM who wont budge.

Bearbehind · 13/03/2017 13:58

Perfect mrexit

A PM who is so pig headed she's willing to break up the UK rather than back down on leaving the Single Market despite staying part of it being a breach of the Tory party manifesto.

Someone who is willing to plunge us into the uncertainty of WTO if she can't get her own way even though it's widely accepted the economy would suffer greatly in doing so.

Bearbehind · 13/03/2017 14:00

^^ Leaving the single market being a breach of the Tory party manifesto

SemiPermanent · 13/03/2017 14:20

A PM First Minister who is so pig headed she's willing to break up the UK rather than back down on leaving the Single Market.
