Well here we are, almost 9 months on from the referendum & A50 is finally set to be triggered this month.
We've had petitions, marches, tantrums & tears, from the hardcore remainers desperately trying to stop the will of the people, but they can't.

So let's get the champagne out of the cellar ready & waiting - this is the last Brexit Arms thread so let's celebrate!

On radio today ...... Italy will be a second Greece soon. Immigration in Greece waving through migrants very quickly so that they move into Italy, which they are doing because Greece is kaput.

Bananagio · 12/03/2017 13:59

that people on MN who hate Brexit are, I have to say, from overseas

Bullshit

The Brexit threads have a mix of UK citizens in the U.K., UK citizens in other E27 states like me, E27 citizens in UK and many of all categories "hate" Brexit. So stop trying to fan the anti-foreigner flames by making out that being against Brexit is a non British thing.

Bananagio · 12/03/2017 14:00

so know a little about Surrey. many people living in surrey are European business men sent here by their employers

And where to even start with this.....

Bananagio · 12/03/2017 14:05

The rest are hard left people

And this! Wondering at what stage Ken Clarke, John Major etc became "hard left"? Confused. Without even looking at the many anti Brexiters on these boards who have stated they are anything but left let alone hard left. The traditional hard left are more likely to be Brexit than not if we are going to generalize

InfiniteSheldon · 12/03/2017 14:11

I agree that the Remain threads on MN are heavily populated by non British living here and by posters who don't live in the UK in rl it's much more balanced and hopeful than the hysterical doom and gloom the Brexit Arms thread continually tries to thwart. Thank you for these threads @Surferjet you faced such vitriol and bile around the time of the Referendum I wondered just how low the bigoted fascism on this forum could go and really thought you might stop posting. The tone is much changed now and like rl getting more positive daily. Roll on A50 and the new era.

Bananagio · 12/03/2017 14:17

Don't know about the tone becoming more positive infinite, headlines like in today's Mail below weren't being seen a few months ago and are starting to become more common.
"May's Brexit plans are hit by fresh infighting as MPs savage Brexit Minister David Davis for being ill-prepared for a ‘no deal’ exit"

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 12/03/2017 14:25

Dont usually post in the pub anymore but i still read as its interesting to get the other side

I see that people on MN who hate Brexit are, I have to say, from overseas. Some of you think maybe this is just difference of opinion based on honest belief, but it is not. The rest are hard left people.

But what a load of bollocks the above is

Anyway to the regulars in the pub i hope you enjoy your celebrations

Bananagio · 12/03/2017 14:30

Anyway the one thing I am in agreement with Brexiters on is that I too want A50 triggered. Am fed up of limbo. Am fed up of rhetoric. I want to get some clarity gradually re what Brexit is going to look like. And believe it or not despite my beliefs it won't be I hope I am wrong and it is successful. Because to hope anything else would be odd. But until I am shown this to be the case then I will continue to be a remoaner taking my lead from the Brexiters who moaned for 40 years. And if it is not a success then I want actuals that the Government can be held to account on. Rather than the red, white and blue Brexit and flag waving drivel we have been subjected to now for months. So yes, at this stage, bring on A50. And if it is a success then I will be happy as despite being one of those who so many of you see as having forfeited a right to have an opinion about my country by living elsewhere, my family are there, my life long friends are there, the market and companies I work with are there and because not being 7 years old I don't want to see something become a disaster just to be able to say I told you so.

surferjet · 12/03/2017 14:37

InfiniteSheldon TBH there was only one poster ( now banned ) who really started to worry me. His/her? posts were verging on mental & were very often aggressive. If she is the face of 'rational, educated' remainers God help us.
But everyone else is just spouting the usual stuff.

"we used to live near guildford so know a little about Surrey. many people living in surrey are European business men sent here by their employers. Also many British people in surrey have known only life within EU, they were too young to vote in 75 and of course it is extra worrying to leave the only system you have known."

I still live in Surrey and I can tell you that you have no idea what you're talking about.

Tanith - We lived near guildford for 9 yrs, and my step daughter is currently in Shere. I am speaking of the very smart parts of surrey of which you may not know. perhaps you mean places such as Staines?

To all the Remainers who have turned this board into a self pity party of moaning and whining - tough shit, you lost Grin

I think you'll find that we've all lost.

InfiniteSheldon · 12/03/2017 16:20

I think you'll find we've all won

SemiPermanent · 12/03/2017 16:21

I think you'll find we've all won

👍

boredofbrexit · 12/03/2017 16:42

Hey Semi...your pet SNP MP Mhairi has described Jacob Rees-Mogg as her boyfriend.
What in the world......Grin

Tryingtosaveup · 12/03/2017 17:24

Just popping in again after being away. Please can I join the party.
I definitely plan to celebrate as soon as A50 is triggered. No going back then
And I will toast the remoaners in the hope that they will finally shut up.
Then start campaigning for Independence Day, June 23rd, to become a public holiday.

InfiniteSheldon · 12/03/2017 17:33

Oh oh oh and a knighthood for Nige

boredofbrexit · 12/03/2017 17:48

Word is Nige will stand in Thanet if by election triggered. Shall we all do a Nuttal and move there?😂

Tryingtosaveup · 12/03/2017 18:14

Absolutely Infinite. A knighthood would be very appropriate for Nigel Farage.

Tanith · 12/03/2017 19:03

No, Svetlana, I do not live in Staines.

You say you lived near Guildford. You seem to have spent 9 years with your eyes shut if you think it is made up of European businessman and hard left-wingers!

Anon1234567890 · 12/03/2017 19:18

But the gun is pointing at our face
Why do remoaners want to be in a club that points a gun at your face for trying to leave?

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 12/03/2017 19:30

That is not what voyage means...at all

CountMagnus · 12/03/2017 19:49

I don't think the gun is pointing in our face ... more like squarely at our foot.
