Cecilede I'd imagine if the EU prove these MEPs have broken the rules, the cash will be repaid but it seems the matter is not settled.

"We are appealing each and every one of the allegations that have been made.”

Helmer, who faces the largest bill known so far, said the parliament administration had “mistakenly” got the idea that Oakden worked for him full time. “So far as I am concerned there is no case to answer – merely an administrative misunderstanding to resolve.”

SemiPermanent · 01/02/2017 23:20

It's strange Corcory, added to the xenophobic, stupid racists tag we're also vacuous, twisted imbeciles, fuckwits and liars.

But a vote for Remain is a vote for tolerance Confused

Can you reconcile that conundrum, cos I am far too discombobulated now.

becausebecausebecause · 01/02/2017 23:24

Sorry if I'm posting links you've already seen (had no idea these threads were running so missed it all). But I love Pat Condell's take on brexit.

SemiPermanent · 01/02/2017 23:26

Oh, and brainwashed halfwits & harpies.

Charming as ever.

surferjet · 01/02/2017 23:27

Oh that link is brilliant!
I have seen it before but well worth watching again. Smile

Will watch that later Because, thanks Smile

Thanks too for the thread link Time4, will have a read later Smile

surferjet · 01/02/2017 23:43

Regarding the other thread:
I know I have no control over anyone or anything on here, but can I request a period of calm? I never look at that thread because I'm just not interested - but I like Red and I really don't want this to get silly.
shall we call a virtual truce?

Can I just leave this here for howabout?

"One thing this referendum has made very clear to a lot of ordinary, decent people in Britain, is just how patronised & how despised they are by an arrogant 'progressive' minority that behaves like a majority, as if by some kind of divine right"

YY to that because.

I've no interest in the other thread at this time Surfer tbh.
It's June 24th all over again tonight.

Agree that it's a shame for Red, as she puts a lot of time & thought into those threads & there's often interesting links on there.

time4chocolate · 02/02/2017 00:13

Surfer - I get where you are coming from, it's a shame that it's gone full circle. Red is obviously dedicated and has put a lot of effort in over the months. I have been thinking about that thread over the last couple of days, I do have genuine concerns about it (indirectly linked to the content) which I won't go into on here but suffice to say I have no plans to venture over there for the foreseeable.

boredofbrexit · 02/02/2017 00:29

great link because! I've not watched Pat before but hell, he speaks for me.

SemiPermanent · 02/02/2017 01:20

Good morning all! It's such a nice day, I can smell freedom wafting over this green and pleasant land! I'd take a look in WM to laugh at all the butthurt, but don't have six weeks spare to wade through the posts and links.

LadyOhDearOhDear · 02/02/2017 08:28

Some morning reading

InfiniteSheldon · 02/02/2017 09:32

Fab link thankyou

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 02/02/2017 10:05

But I love Pat Condell's take on brexit

Never heard of him before - thanks for that - sums it all up really well.
Interesting about the EU propaganda too.

John McDonnell on the news this am, saying something like " the real fight begins to make sure the government does x y and z" which I take to mean stay in single market.

I see trouble waters ahead. Dont want to put dampener on the morning Smile but I do feel, now the official boxes are ticked - from referendum - "out, to latest court battle regarding triggering article 50...now the real work and the real struggle begins.

In terms of negotiating with the EU I dont feel worried at all. I feel if TM etc were left to get on with it - they would get decent deal.

But its our own politicans who I feel will derail things.

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 02/02/2017 10:08

Lady another great link thank you!

I do feel the national feeling is slowly starting to change and accept Brexit and I fear raising hopes and holding up plans in commons on the detail will drag everything back

SemiPermanent · 02/02/2017 10:19

Debbie, if I was TM I would announce that all EU nationals currently residing in Britain are guaranteed to be protected & are free to apply for (and get) citizenship with no caveat.

This would instantly deflate one of the most contentious issues from across all parties, and would also put Britain on the moral high ground (EU would then seem petulant if they didn't reciprocate in upcoming negotiations, which I don't think they'd risk).

But I'm not PMTM, unfortunately!

WrongTrouser · 02/02/2017 10:31

If I was TM I would announce that all EU nationals currently residing in Britain are guaranteed to be protected & are free to apply for (and get) citizenship with no caveat

I would like to see this too. I think it would be a step towards less division and would remove the uncertainty many people are facing. I know it would leave the situation of UK nationals in the EU unresolved, but hopefully the EU would respond in kind at some point.

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 02/02/2017 10:35

We all know how petty and sticky divorces can get.....

Does having the moral high ground matter to the EU? I feel nothing but the EU ideology matters to them. Sad

I agree it would deflate contentious issue however...

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 02/02/2017 10:49
