Grin informal, a couple of my friends live in Edinburgh and they were out with placards yesterday!

They're not students but they're very, very anti-Brexit & anti-Trump - they're also very, very comfortably off & lead quite a 'liberal elite' lifestyle.

The irony is entirely lost on them quite often, but I don't ruffle their feathers, I'm too fearful 😧 Grin

Rather like avoiding Polly Toynbee tracts and Owen smith bile, I can only occasionally dip into the other thread occasionally.

I honestly think they will be petitioning their MP's to introduce "struggle sessions" next I really really do Confused.

Only once have I seen the "Leader" called out for a Soviet Stance, I wonder if the followers have even noticed it. Its like a brain washed cult.

SemiPermanent · 31/01/2017 22:10

No Debbie, we're the brainwashed cult - we were told that on the previous thread.

Surfer has taken us all into her spell & is our puppet master.

boredofbrexit · 31/01/2017 22:10

introduce struggle sessions? theyve been carrying them out on mn for months on we leavers and on the trump thread -poor claig

boredofbrexit · 31/01/2017 22:12

yep, when surfer smashed that bottle of coco we all went underGrin

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 31/01/2017 22:14

Grin silly me, how could I forget the chair!

Must have been the coco!

surferjet · 31/01/2017 22:19

Ds can play ( don't fear ) the reaper on his guitar - we love a bit of blue oyster cult here.

Yes Semi, I have friends like that too. Work in a very comfortable job in a quango in Edinburgh, very comfortably off have a flat in the town and the family home in the country. They went to the march, very anti Brexit, anti Trump and pro independence for Scotland. SNP elite!

WidowWadman · 31/01/2017 22:32

Why do you keep putting "all welcome" in the title when it's blatantly not the case?

surferjet · 31/01/2017 22:43

Everyone is welcome. Loads of remainers come & chat here. It is predominantly leavers but it's open to anyone who wants to chat about Brexit.

Discombobulated is one of my favourite words! My dc actually roll their eyes and clap when I manage to use it Grin

InfiniteSheldon · 01/02/2017 06:23

On the other threads I stopped posting when it became apparent that a considerable proportion of the most active posters a: don't live in this country or b:aren't eligible to vote on this country's future or c: are complete ninnies.

InfiniteSheldon · 01/02/2017 06:26

Time4 was it concomitant?

boredofbrexit · 01/02/2017 07:15

there were a few brilliant posters though, like spinflight and christine9876something or other. always liked tiggy and glad to see her here. wheres mango?

howabout · 01/02/2017 07:22

Morning all. Brew

Popped in to say thanks for the Guardian article by the German academic - there is hope Smile.

As a Glaswegian to my core I can indeed confirm that Edinburgh is stuffed with English well to do students. It is also the second most expensive place to be a student in the UK outside of London.

Figmentofmyimagination · 01/02/2017 07:45

spinflight posted like someone whose job was posting on the internet and disappeared after the vote.

surferjet · 01/02/2017 07:53

Interesting what you say about the other thread InfiniteSheldon - but hey ho, it's good that leavers & remainers have found their own little place on the internet to chat.

OP posts:
boredofbrexit · 01/02/2017 07:59

I didn't think that figment but to be fair most interesting posters on that thread disappeared after the ambush by a couple of pepper-sprayers.

surferjet · 01/02/2017 08:03

Ooh, heard the latest about DC & the daily mail?

OP posts:
SemiPermanent · 01/02/2017 08:09

It was on Newsnight last night Surfer.
DC tried to get Dacre removed as editor, because he didn't like that Dacre was Eurosceptic.

Whilst I see it as appalling that a PM would try to interfere with our free press, it would appear that hardened Remainers are more concerned about Dacre pushing the Leave agenda.

InformalRoman · 01/02/2017 08:18

As a Glaswegian to my core I can indeed confirm that Edinburgh is stuffed with English well to do students. It is also the second most expensive place to be a student in the UK outside of London.

Tell me about it. Am hoping DS will meet a rich English home counties girl that will keep him in the manner to which he'd like to become accustomed.

boredofbrexit · 01/02/2017 08:22

And I took my son to Edinburgh at New Year hoping that he'd be so charmed that he'd make it his first choice of uni. Backfired spectacularly when he was joined by his girlfriend and they nevervmade it out the hotel room for the whole three days.

surferjet · 01/02/2017 08:23

I've never been to Scotland but I'd love to go.
