Yep

If dh loses his job we will have a great quality of life...Hmm

boredofbrexit · 03/02/2017 12:59

Indeed Debbie. Maybe some remoanersshould 'turn that frown upside down' and consider the improvements now that the scapegoat is about to be despatched: no obfuscation, more political engagement...or is that what is scary?

InfiniteSheldon · 03/02/2017 13:07

I'm still waiting for those lottery numbers

JamieXeed74 · 03/02/2017 13:11

Is there any proof that all the food regulations in the EU actually leads to better quality food? I mean the Americans eat chicken, what is actually wrong with using chlorinated water? GM food actually seems to be an improvement, why isnt the EU using that?

InformalRoman · 03/02/2017 13:19

The EU regulates GM foods - it doesn't ban them.

Do I need to explain why chlorinated chicken is bad?

boredofbrexit · 03/02/2017 13:26

No but you need to explain why you think a nation cannot, going forward, make its own regulations for GM foods? A nation with a democratically elected government that can be held to account. Have you become so infantilised that you need a faceless bureaucratic entity to guide you? Hmm

time4chocolate · 03/02/2017 13:33

CHLORINATED CHICKENS!! So because of Brexit/Trump we are going to be force fed chlorinated chickens Confused

Is there a shortage of chickens in this country? are all the Country's chickens going to jump on a ferry at Dover and sail off to France (some sort of chicken protest Wink)

I think we will be ok on the chicken front.

InformalRoman · 03/02/2017 13:34

bored funny you should mention that ...

eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=OJ:JOL_2015_068_R_0001

8: In that context, it appears appropriate to grant Member States, in accordance with the principle of subsidiarity, more flexibility to decide whether or not they wish to cultivate GMOs on their territory...

InformalRoman · 03/02/2017 13:36

Funnily enough, I don't view the EU as faceless bureaucrats, having been involved in consultations over proposed environmental legislation in my previous career.

JamieXeed74 · 03/02/2017 13:46

Do I need to explain why chlorinated chicken is bad?
Well our salads are washed in chlorinated water, we drink chlorinated water, the WHO says low levels of chlorine are safe. So yes what is so bad about chlorinated water?

boredofbrexit · 03/02/2017 13:52

Sooooooo....if the Eu seemed to trust 'member states' to make decisions....why are you so against us doing just that albeit as a nation state rather than a member state?

And no wonder it was a 'previous' career if you had to digest stuff like that, yawn.

InformalRoman · 03/02/2017 13:57

There is a reason tap water is chlorinated. Have you thought about why it is deemed necessary to wash (or lets say "decontaminate") chickens in chlorinated water (which contains significantly more chlorine than tap water)?

SemiPermanent · 03/02/2017 13:58

*Oooh lovely

Are we now allowed to drag posts in from other threads?

I thought we werent supposed to do that as it was bad form ?

But if we are allowed to do it now, i can say on this thread that semi should be ashamed of the 'kept woman' comment

I am obviously a 'kept woman' as i am not a highr rate tax payer*

Am not remotely 'ashamed'.
Was just 'cooking my chips' over on this thread (as referenced on the other thread).

SemiPermanent · 03/02/2017 14:02

Oh, and kudos for using a .

Just so I'm fully aware of how you feel.

SadSadSad

boredofbrexit · 03/02/2017 14:03

would you like some chicken in a basket to go with them?Grin

InformalRoman · 03/02/2017 14:05

It was quite an exciting career actually - I got to blow things up for one thing. Just not very compatible with children.

I'm not against the UK being able to decide to do things, but maybe you'd be surprised at how much consultation was involved in shaping environmental legislation for instance, rather than this idea that the EU just dictated to us.

boredofbrexit · 03/02/2017 14:07

Remainers voted due to chicken
Leavers voted due to bananas.

You mean something written somewhere says it does - but actual farms farming do what the hell they like as there is no proper regulation or inspectorate!!

Sooooooo....if the Eu seemed to trust 'member states' to make decisions....why are you so against us doing just that albeit as a nation state rather than a member state?

One of the best points I have read.

Grin Grin Bored - I wonder what Freud would have made of that Hmm Grin

Chicken in a basket - now that is retro!!

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 03/02/2017 14:12

Grin

Someone needs to start taking the higher road

Not surpised you arent ashamed

Smile

I like the smileys and saddys...

And i am not really sad

Are you having a bad day, you are normally a bit more easy going?

boredofbrexit · 03/02/2017 14:13

Maybe Roman but the way you phrase it is very backward looking. Surely all that consultation won't just fade away and can be recycled? We can build on what went before, make improvements etc? Trade, research, development, law making, education, travel governance - all these things won't stop, they will continue to be.

SemiPermanent · 03/02/2017 14:13

I would love some Remainer chlorinated chicken to go with my chips, thanks Bored Grin

DebbieDownersGiveItARest · 03/02/2017 14:16

there was a time when chickens were a treat - very expensive, and properly tasty, if we have to go back to that time, fine by me.

we all eat too much meat anyway - not good for our diets or for the planet.

would be great for environment.

boredofbrexit · 03/02/2017 14:16

must have een the chlorinated chicken
